the only ones who deserve the job are Fein, Fry and Coleman. But they are white and many on here think this job should be based on the amount of melanin in their skin. Odd, I know – but that’s what some people think makes a good judge.

“Hey I have a case with Judge so and so tomorrow”
    “Is he/she a good judge?”
“I don’t know how much melanin is in that judge’s skin so it’s hard to tell”

get the F out of here with that racist crap. Listen to MLK and aim for a day when people are not judged by the color of their skin (if you can do it).

But don’t worry, Claudette Vanni’s name snuck through somehow, and she’s married to a current judge …so we all know how this is going to end.

Only two of the twelve could possibly be considered qualified Circuit Court material. The others are looking for a handout and have put their names in for every job but dog catcher. Political hacks with little practical experience looking to move up the food chain and get a big boost in income. It’s an easy call.

Frink is doing a ‘sokoloff roshawn’ – that’s where a person perpetually runs or puts name in for every judge opening, regardless of the absurdity of that person being a judge..hoping their name wears on people and finally takes.

        Take this instead: a hint.

Fry is the best in the bunch and deserve it hands down. Then for the second seat so does Keathen Frink.

Nothing to do with racism. What people think makes a good judge is experience. Trial and life experience helps. More than a few years as a lawyer. A good demeanor.

It’s a simple fact. Most of the judges aren’t minorities. Open your eyes. Look around.. they’re plenty of qualified minority attorneys in Broward that could and should be judges.

Williams is good. Mr. Robinson needs an opponent. There’s nothing endearing about Holmes’ haugtiness and ego. Broward is in desperate need of black judges who aren’t tied to the old ways. There’s more latin judges in a black county. I hope Frink gets in so governors will see him inspire other guys like him to apply and make Broward better.

Frink plan: keep applying every time so I can make it seem like I should be the logical choice.

But keithan, there’s nothing in particular that makes you stand out as to why you should be judge over all these others with more experience than you? Oh I see, because you keep throwing your name in the hat, you must be considered? Why not run and let voters decide, Frink?!

Frink, Frack … Doesn’t matter how many times you put your name in. Hoping to fall into a crack you’ll regret, and won’t occupy very long, won’t reserve you a place in Heaven or make you anything your not already. Give up the beg for free card and run like a man already !

Experience doesn’t have anything to do with it as we have seen or you wouldn’t have all these unqualified bimbos with barely five years in getting appointed.

Coleman won’t be able to find his way to the courtroom without getting lost. We will all be kept waiting for hours if he gets it. We just got rid of Destry who couldn’t seem to tell time. We don’t need another one.

    Crazy PD
New way – you’ve been a lawyer less than 2 years, ok let’s make you the new misdemeanor supervisor. Doesn’t matter that you haven’t had felony trials. You watched a lot which is good. Besides you’ll hit the 2 year mark soon.

Old way- the misdemeanor supervisors had years of experience including in felony and felony trials.

Old way- the trainers, training supervisors, floor supervisors had 20 plus years experience. Tried murders, capital sex battery cases. With names like Dorothy, Betsy, Dennis, Don.

New way- you had a couple of trials in the last 5 years right? Maybe? Ok good.

Old way- there was some sort of order. Seniority. Knowledge. Merit based.

New way- I like you. Ok you don’t have much experience. Ok you’re never at the jails seeing clients. But I know you and you’re my friend and I get all the inside scoop from you. Plus you’ve been friendly with some of the judges. You’re in. Doesn’t matter that everyone else has 150 cases. None for you.

Old way- people stuck around because there were like 50 incredible lawyers to learn from in the office. People right next door in almost every office. Now most are judges, working at Landau, RCC, or just gone.

And you forgot that if you are a Public Defender Supervisor you have no caseload of your own, haven’t been in trial in 20 years or for that matter go anywhere near a courtroom, get paid top dollar, and don’t have to come to work as evidenced by their empty assigned parking spaces every day.
Rank hath it’s privileges. One of those is to do nothing.

The bottom line is that the little guy can’r run an office. He’s too busy running his mouth giving people the impression that he actually does something all day. He collects his six figure salary to work 20 hours a week. Say what you want about Satz but at least the guy knows how to work a full week.

      1. 6

        0

And Satz gets in the courtroom and actually tries cases which is something Scat Fink would and could never do. He can’t even tell you where his six figured supervisors are. Nor does he care. For all the incessant bluster, he’s just in it for the ride. Then ride on brother. The word is out. PD is poison.

  5. 4

    1

    To crazy PD

Spot on. You can become a supervisor by being the intern of the head of misdemeanor. Less than 2 years. That’s all it takes these days.
I went to a conference and in every PD office the supervisors and lawyers…everyone but the chief and a couple people had cases.
    There’s no legitimacy left.
    That’s why everyone’s gone.

    That’s why I left.

But seriously, would you really want clueless Cathy Keuthan or Gordon ‘shaky knees’ Weekes on cases?

Maybe they could do mag. ct., or drug ct. or m.health ct., but no reason for either of those two to touch any regular cases.

    1. 2

      1

Both of them are laughable. Neither one of them are smart enough to handle cases and you wouldn’t want them to. That’s why they’re called Public Pretenders. Their so called management skills are equally as laughable. Ever seen them in court? You won’t. As long as they can play hide and seek they’re safe. Or so they think. The PDs office has disintegrated with the real losers being the clients despite the rhetoric. Nobody is buying it anymore.

No pictures of the creepy little Fink in a long time, Bill. What’s wrong, did the troll hurt your feelings or something? Did he stop kissing Lynne’s fat ass? Did he no longer give you information to use on your blog to skewer judges that didn’t do what he wanted them to do? What a pity. You guys were such a cute couple back in the day.

To Donald Trump Supporters concerning Facebook

To all the Donald Trump supporters who added Deplorable to your name and are being told by Facebook you have to use your real name and have to remove Deplorable there is a very simple solution that Facebook will allow.

1).Make sure you use your real name or they may close your account.

2). Next in your account, create a new page and name that page:

    Deplorable (Your Name).

3). Set your account to always post under that page name.

Pages are seen as separate accounts, that’s how business’s do it.

    This allowed by Facebook

Now you won’t have the likes you had using your name, however all you need to do is invite all your friends to like the new page, and follow it from now on.

Besides after the election or a few years from now you may not want to use it anymore. When that happens simply delete the page and go back to posting with your name.

You will always have the ability to use either your name or page when you want to post.

Tallahassee, FL (9/21/2016) – Governor Rick Scott appoints David Haimes to the 4th DCA. Judge Haimes previously served as a Circuit Court Judge in the 17th judicial circuit. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant US attorney.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of see Tony Serra (True Believer) outside of Judge Diane Ward’s courtroom. I don’t know what case he’s on, but we are truly blessed and in the presence of greatness when he is in the building.

Funny, some of the Florida lawyers didn’t even know who he is. I guess, it’s not funny.

    1. 1

      0

Just read about this lawyer, no big deal. It says “he took a vow of poverty, wears cheap suits, lives in tiny apartment and always takes cases that don’t pay much”

Sounds like a few of the Registry (SPD “wheel”) attorneys except for “goes to trial a lot”, and only a handful of the Wheel attorneys go to trial.

In fact, only a small lot of all the attorneys here in Broward are actually “trial” attorneys, whereas others try to force a plea, and then withdraw if it has to go to trial.

  21. 1

    0

You are a douche the man kills it in court..he doesnt lose cases. Hes like the Bill Gelin of California. Long hair, bad suits, doesnt shower a lot, meets his clients in the cafeteria, but wins all of his trials and goes to trial all the time. Bill really knows his stuff, most prosecutors are scared of him when he picks up a pen.

    1. 1

      0

Ha, Bill I figured it was you behind the comments, trying to suggest a view you’d like others to have of you,

“Oh, come on, please try and see me as being like this Serna guy. Sure he is a trial lawyer and I get scared about trials, haven’t had any actually since I left the PDs office. In fact all I do is admin a blog, but please see the image I was going for with the wrinkly clothes. I wanna make it appear like I’m this rough and tough freedom fighterish guy, and hope nobody realizes I have to bring in Ed or someone if my case ends up in a trial.”

So transparent, lame and shamefully embarrassing this ploy of yours to post info about this lawyer guy and try to make a reference to yourself …as though there were any similarities between you and a real trial lawyer. There are not. Go to trial, learn.

Only in Broward would a lawyer saint come down from heaven be chewed up and spit out. It’s called jealousy. Broward truly is the armpit of the state of Florida.

Now, when are they going to do something about those incompetent court reporters by docking their pay by half after 15 days when a transcript is late or when the transcript is not correct?

I guess it would mean to get rid of the Boss firm (boasting with hot air, lack of competence, atrociously late transcripts, and cheating the court reporters).

And Apex which is run by the Three Stooges (Larry runs it one week, then it’s Curly and then Moe) because they run around like little girls saying that they have no control over the market, work, or office conditions. If they are not in control, who is?

Just be glad it wasn’t Shrago going topless. She’d call it art. I’d call it gross. Lol. If that’s the kind of art YAA is pushing for children, the Broward County Commission is in for a bigger surprise than it knows by the time we all pay the bill. The game is afoot with this so called children’s museum. The only question left is the price tag for citizens of Broward County.

Georgia congressman John Lewis thinks we need to give more credit to the women of the civil rights movement.

BuzzFeed reported that during an event in Washington Wednesday night, Lewis was asked if the current Black Lives Matter movement needs central leadership. Lewis, a 14-term congressman and civil rights leader himself, said the civil rights movement of the ‘60s was “dominated” by men, most of whom were ministers.

    Lewis continued:

There were some women like Ella Baker, Diane Nash, a student in Nashville, one of leaders, the leader of the Little Rock Nine effort ― and others, you had Gloria Richardson. But I truly think and believe women were discriminated against. They did all of the work, they did the heavy lifting. They were kept back.
According to BuzzFeed, Lewis said Dr. King and other male leaders were credited for the Montgomery Bus Boycott when, in fact, it was a woman’s idea to do that type protest.

If you consider the impact this blog alone has had on the justice system in broward, I’d say the Gulkin award should go to Gelin.

But the bacdl suckups prefer to give it to one of their own – a sort of pat each other on the back kind of thing

    1. 1

      0

The funny thing is there are really only ever like six active members of BACDL. The guy in charge, and the others in line to be in charge for their resume or hoping for a Gulpin Award. The organization is a sham.

The higher ups at BSO administration are working very hard at replacing the court bailiffs in ALL of the courtrooms by the time that the new courthouse opens in early 2017. They will all be replaced by SWORN detention deputies who are properly trained and physically active and fit to handle inmates and emergency situations as well as showing a much higher degree of professionalism and respect for the job that they are hired to do. Gone will be the 80 year old bailiffs wandering the halls of the courthouse aimlessly or sleeping in the courtrooms while entrusted to watch inmates. Gone will be the unprofessional, loudmouth bailiffs making a joke out of their jobs. Gone will be the unprofessional rude bailiffs that think in their feeble little minds that they are actually SWORN law enforcement officers. It is due time that Sheriff Israel did the right thing and replace the bailiffs with professionalism and SWORN detention deputies who know how to do their jobs. Thank you Sheriff Israel for doing the right thing.

What? No more worthless NY retirees sucking at the public trough in the Sunshine State for the second time ? That’s too bad. Things are bad enough here in Broward without more stupid do nothing slackers telling us how much better it is in NY. Get rid of all of them all. The bailiffs ate a complete waste of time and money. They represent a safety hazard to themselves and everybody else in the courtroom.

  29. 0

    0

Hey JAs, not all of the bailiffs fall into the category that you have listed in your posting. Some of them are very good at their jobs and know what to do regarding their job. It’s certainly not fair to lump them all into one group. Just like there are rude, lazy JAs doesn’t mean that all JAs are lazy and rude and should be gotten rid of. What is going to happen to the capable hard working bailiffs that come to work every day and do a great job day in day out. Are they just going to be gotten rid of because of the lazy unprofessional bailiffs. That is totally wrong and unacceptable. I’m really glad that the JAs think of all of us bailiffs in this way. Totally changes our way of thinking about the JAs. How would you all feel if you all lost your jobs and were replaced by YOUNGER AND MORE EFFICIENT WOMEN.

  30. 0

    0

The realest issue is why Judges have a JA each when a single JA could handle 3 Judges especially those worthless do nothing County Judges.

    1. 0

      0

True. Been around 35 years, recent example: finally got a hearing before a judge I went to school with. He said, (my name), next time you have a problem just call over & (??). Yeah, right. Called several times & just fluff from a JA breathing almost retirement. There is a few decent ones, like a few good deputy clerks, but by & large mostly useless, lazy, won’t & don’t help do something unless they have to. I’d probably be the same way!!!

  31. 1

    0

Absolutely true. One JA per 3 judges is more than enough. Save alot of money. They don’t even want to go get the mail, might interfere with their personal phone calls and long lunches. They expect the bailiffs whom they consider to be useless to do their work for them.

Media’s Irresponsible Reporting About Gregory Frazier Officer Involved Shooting.

This is why we are never in a hurry to “just get the story up”.
We want to wait and see, get all the facts, and then publish.

At the end of this article we give you BOTH COMPLETE 911 calls. Listen for yourself.

The outrage about an officer-involved shooting involving a black man, Gregory Frazier, who was shot while eating chicken wings in his own backyard, has most of the main-stream media reporting the story in a way to obviously sway your opinion while totally ignoring some of the facts.

This story is a perfect example of how the media alters details to paint a picture of excessive force to sell advertising.

First of all- don’t you have to be a trial attorney to win that award? So Weekes is out. Has he ever tried a case?
Second- the article makes a good point. We should have a minority State Attorney. It would be great to have a black or Hispanic person in that position. Someone that can identify with what minority people have to deal with. Not Teresa Williams. There are many minority prosecutors and former prosecutors- Satz should back one of them for the next election and leave a decent legacy behind.
Third- that article mentions a BLM protest against Satz. NO ONE SHOWED UP! there was no one protesting. Minorities need to show up to the polls if there is to be a change.

  33. 2

McCray talks total shit about BACDL that they are all hacks, never once offered help to any member, never been a member himself and yet he should get an award for “bravely” penning a letter? How about the lawyer that everyone seemed to forget that first ran against a sitting judge, when no one else had the balls to do it?

    1. 1

      0

Nah, can’t give it that guy either.

All he did is ask his family to pay a filing fee & at least 6 or 7 other lawyers did the same thing. “Oh but I was first!”

Yes, Greenbald, we get it – you are a legend in your own mind.

      1. 0

        0

And using greenbald s logic, then it is Franz Jahra McLawrence who first put in against sitting judge (vs. Lee Seidman), or even John Kasen.

Greenbald: “I’m number three! I’m number three!!”

        1. 1

          0

Nate Klitsberg was the one who had the balls to jump in first against Seidman. As usual Jara came in, screwed up the race and instead of a good guy like Nate on the bench we have Mardi Levy Cohen..

          1. 0

            1

So first time on the blog in a long time. Thanks for the thought, but Jahra actually filed against Leejay first and then I filed I think a few days later. Jahra and I had spoken about our intentions of getting into that group before either of us filed. We knew it was going to be at least the two of us. Jahra was a gentleman in every encounter I had with him and I think he feels the same way.

Race ended how it was going to happen – no regrets. Other than the outcome (and maybe wanting the $25k of my own money that I put in back), I wouldn’t change a thing about those 10 months of running for office. There were a lot of good people running (some still trying to get in this year).

6 more years in private practice since 2010, and with 3 kids now, unlikely I’m running again any time soon. But you never say never.

Since my practice has been 100% civil for the past 14+ years since leaving the PDO, haven’t been in front of MLC so I can’t comment on how she’s doing on the bench.

Greenbald was never going to win and certainly the name alone wasn’t going to do it for him. Those days are over. He came in last. Can’t get the all so buddy buddy pic out of my head of the DB playing pal with Destry and Glassworm who are equally as much DBs.
Greenbald scraped up enough schekles to pay the filing fee and rolled the dice in a losing endgame to get some recognition and maybe some small time business and now will more or less disappear back into the slime from whence he came.
His real reasons for running, to get on the dole, were so transparent and weren’t as he figured he could spin it. The voters saw right through his charade.

All of the lazy, lousy, rude unprofessional sarcastic do nothing JAs ALL need to be replaced with YOUNGER harder working enthusiastic women that know how to do their jobs in an efficient professional manner with a good attitude unlike the old lazy do nothing hacks that we have to deal with now who think that they are self entitled to just show up and do nothing all day.

A handful of JA hags suffering from the same intitlement disease as as Broward judges hide behind recorded phone messages and do nothing. That’s when they show up to work.
Wally the walrus Weinstein sets the example and the rest of the do nothings follow his lead.

Benson just lost another case. I think the people that benefit the most from her winning the election are her clients. Has she ever won a trial? Her soon to be former clients need to thank the voters. They will now maybe get an attorney that can actually try a case.

Just one more County Court Clown. U make it sound like its some pinnacle of achievement. She wanted out of the Public Defender’s Office so bad like everybody else, at least she can give the finger for a term or two to Keuthy Kuethan, Howie and the clan of Public Pretenders. Anybody still left working there besides first year newbies ? Lol

Lol. Yes. County court judge benson. She is so old. I can’t imagine she has saved much $ working at PD. She was a bust as a private lawyer. Everyone knows she wasted all her pennies in this election. She should be easy pickings next time up. A lawyer that is retiring from a successfull practice could run. It’s an easy gig. Super easy. It’s county court. But if you have no money how do you survive on that terrible salary without a spouse ? most of the county court judges are either retired successfull attorneys that made money on their own- or married to successfull people that bring money home. Otherwise how do you live (with a family) on that salary?

JAs in Broward courthouse dress like they are hanging at at home dressed down and totally unprofessional or they dress like Old worn out street walkers who’s time has passed many many years ago and still trying to make a few extra bucks on the side. Pathetic.

Broward judges for years have been playing the dirty game of giving sitting judges the unfair and unethical practice of swearing in juries and campaigning to keep their seats at the same time, a practice inaugurated by a chief judge named Ross who thankfully retired recently but for years slimed his way around the courthouse like a slug who milked the citizens of Broward like they were his own personel trough to feed from until he was defeated at his own game and replaced by another chief judge who was of a different elk and who changed many of the rules of the old Bubba System that reigned unchallenged until then.

The scummy practices of Broward judges have been exposed for what they are, a group of self serving hypocrites who embody anything but justice and FairPlay.

But the times are changing and they are finding it harder to deal in the dark anymore.

Congrats for the efforts of those that challenge these pension grubbers whose real game is painfully obvious to those that continue to shine light on the not so cute little games of a bunch of government suckers that will do almost anything to stay sucking at the public trough because they can’t do anything else.

Trump had a dark, Darwinian view of the world. And he would not only become, in Mr. Ullrich’s words, “a mouthpiece of the cultural pessimism” growing in right-wing circles, but also the avatar of what Thomas Mann identified as a turning away from reason and the fundamental principles of a civil society — namely, “liberty, equality, education, optimism and belief in progress.”

Ridiculous. Everybody knows that Hitler lived out the rest of his life with the full knowledge of the United States government on his estate in Patagonia dancing the nights away with Eva Braun entertaining guests arriving regularly from Europe and the United States and paying for it all with the Nazi gold horde he brought over on two submarines at the end of World War II . Check recently released US government declassified files for confirmation.

Bang Weinstein’s JA first ? That’s really funny, first you have to find her. That’s the dumbest laziest JA in the courthouse, she never comes to work and the one day a year that she decides to grace us with her presence she acts like she’s doing us all a favor. She is after all the Chief JA. Totally dumb. Totally lazy. Totally useless. Not even worth banging. Way too dumb and lazy.
