Is this the first time an entire law firm has put in for a single judicial appointment? Are Marlon and Weiss and their associates planning on alternating days on the Bench? Are all of the Marlon Weiss firm members qualified?

EVAPORATED BUSINESS MODELS LEAD TO FAILURES AND HENCE MEDIOCRE APPLICANTS LOOKING FOR JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS
BROWARD HAS BECOME KNOWN AS THE DUMPING GROUND FOR JUDICIAL JACKASSES
LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THE LONG LIST OF LAZY INCOMPETENT IDIOTS ON THE BENCH

This sounds like another misguided Desantis plan a la the pickle ball in the parks scheme. Why o why could he think a firm could platoon a judges duties and they all remain impartial?

Not for an appointment. He’s a known democrat. Will never get appointed by De Santis.

Huh? It’s not his firm. The firm may be R, but I assure you, he is not. He’s been a democrat in the Miami/Hollywood area for a long time.

Same group of hacks every time. After many years at the courthouse I know 75% of the names on n the list and they are nowhere near qualified to be a circuit judge. After doing my research Marlon Weiss would be my pick.

Screw qualifications. A bunch of broke bums looking for an easy way out of their busted practices. Either that or transversely the same old government gophers looking for a raise and an easy work schedule where judges in Broward only work about two days a week !

      1. 5

        0

Uh, yeah. If that was true (i.e. work 2 days a week & make close to 200k) …uh, yeah, who wouldn’t drop their name in the hat?!

Most people that become judges I think do it for the public service. Why would anyone cap their earning like that, if it wasn’t for dedication.
I say we should pay judges more. It’s not dignified to pay so little for such an important job

Rotten luck for the usual prosecutorial scrum hoping for a leg up from indistinguishable careers to a place in the sun that such an accomplished person as Attorney Weiss has placed his desire for service above lucre.

Funny how its always the same names applying for government cheese. There should be a basic test to weed out the undesirables.

Pascal the Rascal still thinks she should be a judge?!

She is like THE most unethical and nasty lawyer around! She needs to find a different career

Better plan on giving her a psychological eval before they even waste their time with the interview …

Pascal Achille is the dumbest bag of smegma droppings i have ever encounter. She’s an embarrassment to the profession.

And this Lisa Glick is too inexperienced – she only has worked as a government AG’s ofc lawyer, pushing child support cases as I recall. She terminates parents rights now for the same agency.
No understanding of being an actual lawyer

Let me get this straight. The voters told Tamar Hamilton to pound sand and now she thinks a Governor should appoint her? Seriously?

Anyone but Lior. I like to consider myself a tough on crime person but even I don’t want to see people go to prison for weed.

The present real estate situation is going to force a lot of these honkers to seek gopher jobs like becoming a judge just to pay their association fees. Practicing law is also not what it used to be.
The scavengers are just going to increase in number so the quality of people looking for scraps is certainly not going to be the best.

Yes. Haines was an AUSA too. He isn’t super smart, but at least he treats people with respect and runs a good courtroom. He isn’t an asshole and acting like as if he is royalty. I’m just saying that office has given us bad, good and mediocre. Can’t really just judge based on that.

            1. 2

              0

Well maybe because Viamontes and Haimes were ASA’s in Broward first is the reasons they’re not arrogance and mean like others that come straight from the AUSA background?

Ignorant of the law to the point she couldn’t understand that a testifying witness must be visible to all those in the courtroom.
            Such an untalented person.

Holmes was a bad carnival act we had to suffer through as long as she ran what amounted to a flee market vender when she was on the bench. Terrible clueless example of a judge and even a worse human being. She was so wrapped up with her own misguided ego that she lost sight of her position as an unbiased arbiter, but instead allowed her courtroom to devolve into a circus.

            1. 7

              0

Holmes was a big blowhard in way over her head. She was a legal pipsqueak with a bad tude that served to scare people off from looking too closely and seeing how much of an ignoramus she was.

          3. 6

            0

I loathed having to appear in her courtroom. Things took 3 times longer because she wouldn’t stop talking about herself. Really bad judge.

              1. 4

                1

Judge Holmes is talking! Look at me! I’m so important! I don’t know what I’m talking about! Judge Holmes will never listen to you! Even when you’re right! Judge Holmes is the greatest of all time!

Holmes had diarrhea of the mouth. The woman just couldn’t shut up talking about herself and disrupting proceedings to save her life. She was a gender race appointee and nothing else. It’s obvious she can at least shut up long enough to stuff her fat face, but absent that fact she’s still got the same problem. Her lack of knowledge of the law also was painfully evident in her many bad rulings.
People like her have made a mockery of justice in Broward, although she’s not the only judge to suffer from this type of manifest pathological problem.
I’ll bet her refrigerator is the size of a 16 wheeler.

I think he has mental health issues. No one is that hot and cold normally. One minute is is normal and professional and the next minute he is losing his shit and being condescending and insulting. He is just weird. I just always hope I catch him on a good day if I have to appear in front of him. You never know what you are going to get.

            1. 3

              2

I had a few trials in front of him. He was excellent—if you were prepared.

One of the things most bloggers seem to forget is that all judges were once lawyers. And Florida not only has some great lawyers but also some of the worst. Our Broward judges in general are very good. But like many lawyers some shouldn’t be judges. Levenson in general is very good. Judges like Imperato, Pollock, Rosenthal and Feren ruined it for everyone.

Levenson has had his own issues. I’ve had trials with him as well. Mostly, he has been great. But when you get him on one of his “off” days he becomes a tyrant and a petulant child. He will be rude. Although, I’ve usually seen him just behave in that manner towards female attorneys, so maybe you didn’t experience it. However, he is far from the worst judge.

Because so many come from Tier 4 Nova and St Thomas which is almost all students only hope of law school then with such poor credentials and marginal grades only hope is Broward SAO or PD

Then when they realize that they are not self starters but can’t live on their salaries they start the kiss butt game to beg borrow steal to get appointed to the bench

Bench is such an appropriate word as that was where the second and third string sat in athletics

Broward County is arguably the most underserved community in the state when it comes to their judges. To call it public service is a sham. They are vastly overpaid for the amount of hours they put in.

Anyone know Lopane’s involvement with Singer v Singer regarding back alimony where apparently someone really screwed up?

    1. 3

      0

Don’t know about Singer but Lopane tries to say he was exonerated of fixing a divorce case for Ponzi Scottie which is not true

They just couldn’t prove it by the system that goes to great lengths to protect their own

      1. 0

        0

What’s there to prove. Scottie is rotting in prison and Kimmie is out and living her life. Pretty obvious no one fixed anything for Scottie.

Was that why investigative reporter Bob Norman was chasing him into his office ?

It was hysterical Lopane talking to him on camera thru an almost closed door

Classic, just like Morley Safer on 60 Minutes lol

Oh yea I remember that crazy case that started with Fred Horowitz. It went on forever and ended with Lopane decision that smacked of a plethora of due process issues
This wouldn’t be the only time Nick ruled sua sponte and failed to properly file and/or give notice

Is Kimmie “Come Over Here” dating a lawyer or a high end car salesman? “Hey Kimmie come here “. Look how good looking my wife is now get the f outta here
          Tough guy Brooklyn Scottie.
          Forgetta About It
What was Scottie’s moniker with Bob Norman?
          Good Guy?

Guaranteeing the safety of your home is essential in today’s unpredictable times. One of the most effective ways to safeguard your assets and confidence is by investing in a trustworthy safe. No matter whether you’re securing cash, vital paperwork, or precious heirlooms, a safe offers a protected vault solution.

In terms of selecting the right safe for your home, there are numerous aspects to think about. Above all, assess your protection necessities. Determine what possessions you plan to store in the safe and the extent of protection required for each and every item.

Following that, take into account the dimensions and location of the safe. Opt for a safe that matches conveniently in your house while supplying ample room for your assets. Ensure that the safe can be installed in a protected location, such as screwed to the floor or wall.

In addition, inspect the protective elements of the safe. Search for features such as strong construction, reliable locking mechanisms, and flame-resistant materials. Take into account committing in a safe with additional safety features, such as for instance biometric thumbprint scanners or electronic keypads.

Finally, don’t forget to factor in your budget when selecting a safe. Fix a practical budget based on your safety requirements and look around for options that match within your financial constraints.

In conclusion, choosing the appropriate safe for your home is essential for keeping your belongings secure. By assessing your security needs, considering the dimensions and placement of the safe, looking into security features, and setting a budget, you can ensure ultimate protection for your important possessions.

It’s pathetic these pampered entitled Broward judges have the audacity to publish and constantly refer to their Div Procedures for pro se litigants insisting they must know how to do this or that precisely that took them 3 yrs of law school to learn and if you can’t or won’t they disrespect disregard you just making the 2 tier justice system even more prejudicial!!

Then they set up a case management system that basically is a megaphone to reiterate the Div Procedures that so many non attys without the resources to hire an atty to be resigned to judicial abuse and lack of justice or concern for the less fortunate

They are despicable people dressed in black which is appropriate as their interaction with people most likely is due to a few dark days in a person’s entire life that can destroy lives and steal futures

Stop appointments and go to elections where the rubber meets the road as it’s an additional vetting to see who has the gumption , belief in themselves and ability to gain community validation of their credentials by requiring them to raise money for winning elections by a majority

These smoke filled back rooms dealings and kissing behinds of powerbrokers to decide who will decide families fates has got to put in rear view mirror

It seems the judges who abhor being held accountable for their mistakes or those of their staff or other parts of legal justice system are the ones who use their onerous Div Procedures the most
They remind of that character in Mad magazine that always said, WHAT? ME?

    Yes, YOU!!

You as judges are most likely worn out, tired and concerned you can’t make the desired livelihood any more and want to coast and build up a retirement better then your 401k can provide
Or you’re lazy or just not cut out to build a private practice

But to be intoxicated with your new found power and mistake it for sitting on a throne instead of being a public Servant who needs to emphasize solving problems versus clearing your docket for that 2 hour lunch or 3:30 early exit just needs to cease

Why aren’t they monitored? Why are so many of them gone in the afternoon? Why are so many done with their dockets by 10:30 AM? Why do so many take Fridays or Friday afternoon off?

It’s like any other field meaning, if there’s 100 stock brokers or 100 green grocers, like 1/3rd of them are hard working smarties, 1/3rd are coasting, and 1/3rd are stupid and/or bone idle. But maybe there’s more lazy types than other fields because it’s government work.
