So much for Benson. She couldn’t even get an interview ! Lol. Looks like she’s going to have to get used to staying a Public Pretender !

The JNC doesn’t appoint anyone. The JNC recommends qualified lawyers to the Governor’s Office for appointment. Governor Rick Scott’s first two appointees were basically career criminal defense lawyers obviously recommended by the JNC.

No. Because Russell is running for county too and he got an interview. She didn’t get any interview after her first one. She probably blew the first interview.

Yes, Benson can enjoy the rest of her work years as an assistant public defender down the hall from the other PD lifer, Lynne DeSanti. Enjoy this post while it stays up!

Interesting that the Thursday prior to Betsy putting in her application for 2 open circuit seats, she was at the Century Village Dem Club telling everyone how it was her lifetime dream to be in County Court because she wanted to mentor young lawyers coming up. Damn cell phones.

She has a case! She’s right! Everyone else is wrong! Doesn’t read carefully! But she’s still right! Everyone else is wrong!

Benson will say or do anything to get out of the PDs office. Too bad nothing she spills at Century Village or anywhere else will help her gain her freedom !

Betsy, please go immediately to the administrative wing. Howard would like his cowboy boots spit shined again.

Most of these posts seem to be from people who have no clue about Broward county. Must be some of the youngins. Betsy has been busting her ass for a long time, has more knowledge and experience as any of the candidates running, or nominated by the JNC. And I imagine they would all agree she is more qualified than half of the current judiciary. It seems you all are a bunch of haters who have not one issue to bash her on, you all are a bunch of pathetic whining female dogs. Go Kick some ass Benson, these haters are a bunch of assholes who deserve to have the words come back to haunt them.

Aren’t the “youngins” the one’s she wants to “mentor”? Shouldn’t they be singing her praises? Why would you think it is the young lawyers that don’t like her? I’m actually curious.

Going to Betsy as a young lawyer is a good idea as long as one has studied the ancient art of Shepardizing a case before arguing it.

Ms. Benson is a fine advocate. However as has been seen time and again, it doesn’t necessarily translate to being decent judicial material. She’s tweaky and thin skinned, traits that may work to an advantage when arguing on behalf of the accused. However these traits are not of the type needed in a jurist.

Betsy is desperately trying to escape from the Titanic called the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. She barely has the skills to be a trial attorney. She is only in her current spot because George, Dohn. and Bruce are gone. She is not judicial material by any stretch of the imagination. She only appears intelligent at times because she is surrounded by mental midgets like Clueless Gordon, Dumb as a Rock Frank, Bobby Booby, and Nervous Stevie. That office would make great reality television.

Benson couldn’t argue her way out of a wet paper bag ! Lol. Experience? What experience? Why put her name in before the JQC? She didn’t even make the grade before she was cut. Now, she thinks she can win an election in Broward? Better switch to shrooms. She’d have a better chance of convincing herself of success.

Let’s put our focus on a candidate for Judge we can agree is well qualified and needed on the Circuit Court bench, Lea Krauss.

We all have know Lea for years, she is a great trial lawyer and criminal law practitioner. We need good defense lawyers on the bench to counteract the Rick Scott appointed judges. Also, we can all agree, the need for more diversity on the bench is great. Lea’s work on behalf of the LGBT community is second to none.

Here is a recent article by esteemed columnist Buddy Nevins about all the money and support Lea has in her run to get on the bench. 150 people, including great lawyers like Mike Dutko and community leaders like Lori Parrish don’t not lend their name to support someone who is not extremely qualified to be a Judge.

Lea as the beloved gay judicial candidate is totally throwing shade on Betsy. It is clear that the only gay judicial candidate anyone cares about is Lea.

Benson is a lightweight. There is no homicide division since Williams and Raticoff left. McNeil and Benson tried one case together and went down in flames. Benson called that experience. She just wants out of the PD like everyone else. Can’t blame her for that but she better get used to it because she doesn’t have a chance.

When I look at Krauss stats versus Benson stats I don’t see any comparison worth making and I don’t see how anyone else could decide like me to vote Krauss over Benson.

Betsy Benson was my first felony trial partner and the people posting the nasty remarks are clearly just posting these things because they support her opponent. I do not have anything negative to say about the other strong person in this judicial race. Betsy is an intelligent, compassionate, and hard working lawyer. She has always helped younger lawyers with drudgery, client communication and yes TRIALS!!!

Her opponent doesn’t say nasty things about her either. She always says very complimentary things about Betsy. It’s people that hide behind annonimty that feel they can be cruel and vicious to both of them behind the safety of their computers. Both candidates are qualified. Whoever wins we will have a good judge.

She didn’t make the cut last time when she applied for a county spot either. They didn’t even give her an interview.

Just because Benson got cut doesn’t mean she isn’t qualified and wouldn’t do a good job as judge. It’s the easiest job in the courthouse.
