Black attorneys can forget it. Election is over and they appointed one last time. That’s it for the next four years.

Yeah. Gabby Novo for Judge, right.

Talk about need for a pay raise – she should stick with calling up inmates who didn’t even ask to see her in hopes they might hire her (yes, Gabby, some of us are aware of you doing that – just sad)

Pretty sure it would be a pay cut. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if she does better than you. I suspect anyone doing as well or better than her would either be (a) too busy, or (b) too dignified to get onto a blog and anonymously rip people.

I’ve known her for over three years and I’ve never once known her to solicit inmates who didn’t call her. Not once. I sign my name to what I say. Come look me up.

That Rifkin person is a Dade prosecutor, and quite an unfriendly one. I shudder to think how she would behave on the bench.

Recently, she told the media she was seeking sanctions against some defense lawyers she tried a case with. I could see her trying to act all tough and abuse the limited discretion granted by the voters (yet this is her fourth or fifth time trying)

If you want to be appointed by Gov. Rick Scott then all you have to do is be married to someone that works for him. In the alternative, you need to be politically connected to the Republican Party. It is very simple to be appointed by Rick Scott. You just have to either know the right person or be sleeping with the right person. Qualifications are irrelevant with this governor. I do not understand why people apply to be a judge. The way to do it is to first get connected to the governor and then he will make sure your name is on the shortlist and then he will appoint you. Grow up already.

Totally ridiculous comment. Governor Scott has appointed hard working, conscientious judges with only one exception.

The previous Governor refused to appoint criminal defense lawyers and it was a pay for play system. Ask Rothstein.

Crist appointed Hurley and he did criminal defense. No doubt Rothstein’s contribution to the Republican Party right before the appointment was merely coincidental not pay to play.

Hey Lance, I don’t know what Gabby does to get business, but since you know her so well, tell us, didn’t it take her 4 attempts to pass the bar exam? She isn’t the brightest person in the courthouse.

Actually She graduated from UM in the spring of 2002. She did not get admitted to the bar until September 2005. Sixth time was the charm.

They should have a 3 strikes and you’re out rule. Kind of like what California does for convicted felons. If you fail the bar exam 3 times, you are out.

Also a three strikes rule for applying for judge before the jnc especially as a dem during the Rick scott administration
