Stephanie Moon for President! A true professional with ethics and integrity that is far too often absent amongst attorneys and jurist.

Cause she would be great, that’s why. Everyone likes her- defense, state and Judges. I don’t know why she gets so much hate. I think it’s one jilted Ex or something.

That’s the best laugh I’ve had all day. Please when they call you to ask about Strauss be honest. Don’t forget to mention the shadiness that is Strauss Aka “the government” and start with the fact that he refers to himself in the 3rd person. Even the state laughs at Strauss when he’s in court. He should be applying for federal court. Because he makes every case a federal case. Oh wait. Didn’t he apply to be a FED? 😂😂😂

Always thought Former judge Seidlin was too busy fleecing old condo women. Anyways, he’s disappeared after his crying jag with the Ana Nichole Smith case and probably looking to pawn her chest X-rays by now. You know, the ones found in his condo dumpster.
Just another NY cab driver turned Broward judge with a twist.
BROWARD HAS HAD SOME REAL WINNERS AS JUDGES. THE MAKINGS OF A REAL BEST SELLER.

Mike’s sure to be po’d at Strauss. First he leaves and gets rehired. Then he commits the ultimate sin and tries for bench.

A mear goat in wolf’s clothing ! His bs is enough to make you wonder if he’s really all there or just acting out some scenario he saw on LA Law before it was taken off the air.

Wasn’t aware Torres could even find her way to her office. You’d have to get her a body GPS if she ever became a judge. On the other hand she couldnt be much worse than some of the other judicial refuse sitting on the Broward bench. I understand everybody’s trying to vacate the PD’s office. She’s just another one I guess like Benson trying to make the jump out of there. Torres is just looking to have it handed to her.

He’s never been very good at golf either … Unless you count driving around on the golf cart an achievement.

Tara Horvitz never even distinguished herself as a prosecutor. She has been working there forever and has never made it to any position of any importance. She is the perfect example of a lazy government worker. There are prosecutors that are great trial lawyers and work hard. Then there are the ones like Tara- who after working there a lifetime- still will always amount to nothing more than a case filer- because she must not be a very good trial lawyer. Coleman, Hilal and Weekes wife are all better selections than Tara.

She gets it from her husband who has never done a thing at Davie except suck off the tit and brown-nose every supervisor that walks. A total spineless tool with an entitlement attitude.

Until they pay judges a decent salary the quality of applicants is going to be low. It is going to be government workers looking for a pay raise or attorneys that couldn’t make it in private practice.

Don’t kid yourself. Most of these guys applying for judge are doing so because it represents a raise in earnings. Most are likewise working in government jobs already looking to move up the gravy train and aren’t the type of material successful private firms are looking for.

I agree. What successful lawyer wants to work for $140k a year? The salary attracts the bottom feeders unfortunately.

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is having a great week. The question of the day is for each of the 25 people who want to be a judge before the JNC: If you are appointed and you hire ATurd as your political consultant, the following will happen to you?

    a) you will blow $200,000 of your personal money like Russell Thompson
    b) you will get opposition, for sure
    c) you will lose the election
    d) you will have to eat meals with Mr. and Miss ATurd
    e) all of the above

Winner gets a Russell Thompson campaign T-shirt 2014 since there are plenty of extra.

Nowadays they can’t leave fast enough. Soon they’ll only be attorneys equipped to handle misdemeanors and 3rd degrees left. There’s really only a handful that can handle the 1sts and serious cases. But the office will bury them (here’s 2 more boxes of cases but don’t look for me I’m out this month) and they’ll leave too.

Some of the PDs leave way too early – like that Kevin McGill looking like a deer in headlights. Dont even know what they’re doing

Hypothetical: Strauss gets appointment. Will the Broward defense run against him in the future or donate and suck up ala Destry.

Strauss wants to be a judge? Lol, good luck with that. I am surprised that he still gets to be a prosecutor after the last trial where he prosecuted three innocent people and wanted to arrest any black male who came to the courtroom. It is sad that broward state attorney’s office still has him working there.

What’s most disturbing is the low caliber of lawyers applying and running for the bench. To be sure the money is a factor. Supporting a family on a judicial salary is impossibly difficult. (That may explain why many judicial officers don’t have children.) The JNC procedures for appointment is obviously a corrupt process. This also is an impediment for a lawyer that may not want to waste effort on a futile game. The condominium election game is lacking substance too. The corruption of paying off key organizers for votes is distasteful to people of character. It’s time to pay at least $300,000 a year for judicial officers. It will make good lawyers apply. It will become a competitive process amongst gifted individuals. The extra salary money can be accrued by decertifying judicial positions as current lackluster people retire and are replaced by high functioning individulas attracted by a suitable salary who are not lazy or lacking in ability. They can do the work of three bimbo jurists in a bad year. This is called reform.

And this is Broward where only the retards that couldn’t make it in private practice apply to be judges. That or political hacks where judicial salaries and perks represent a big hike in pay and you can be as lazy as you want with no oversight and not be answerable to anyone including a do nothing chief judge that does nothing himself, carries no docket and spends more time at lunch than anything else. It’s a breeze in Broward for judges. They get paid a lot more than they’re worth.

Why not make a rule that a lawyer shall not qualify for Judge unless he or she can prove 5 years earning more than a judicial salary? Then it would be called public service as opposed to a money grab and would get rid of political hacksters that can’t earn a living without a government hand out. Proof of earnings via tax return and not a fudged judicial application. That’s important. The JNC doesn’t verify squat.

I just left and I can tell you I’d never go back there. A third grader could run that office better than those idiots do. Big mistake ever going to the public defenders office for me. I had heard about it not being such a good place to work in law school but never expected it was to be like this. I’m happy to be out of there.

Why don’t PD supervisors carry any cases ? All they seem to do is creat problems for the rest of us that are carrying the actual caseloads so they can pretend they are doing something. Then they are nowhere to be found if they are needed. Staying out of the office and out of sight seems to remain their highest priority. Check out the pics of their empty parking spaces. I don’t know what they do but get in the way when they are around. They certainly don’t spend anytime in the courtroom. They run from that like they are afraid of it. And Finkelstein doesn’t seem to know or care about the condition of our office. It’s like his mind is on something else. That’s why we have so many people not sticking around for long. You make a suggestion and you get stabbed in the back by your supervisor.

Not to mention the office supply strip search after you’ve quit the PD. Keuthan must be hoarding stuff in her desk.

Greenbald pretends he has some active practice…but the financial disclosure says he has a negative net worth and makes about as much as he did when he was a PD!

Greenvald hasn’t spent hardly anything and he’s broke ? Just the kind of duffis we want for judge in Broward ! Lol

I can’t blame them for trying. The crooked JNC has sent a message each time a young political featherweight is appointed over a veteran skilled attorney. They are in the Black Lives Don’t Matter business and not about neutral magistrates who will stand up for justice. Period.

LOL ! NO LOSS ROSS ! WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BIGGEST MILKER ON THE BROWARD COUNTY BENCH. AND ONE OF THE DUMBEST. ROSS DID MORE TO KEEP BROWARD JUDICIARY ONE OF THE SLEASIEST CLUBS IN THIS BACKWATER ONE HORSE TOWN. A NEW ERA BEGINS WITHOUT THIS SCUMBAG.

This bad nose job was brought to you by BIMBO JUDGES OF BROWARD … Thankfully she is now employed as head sniffer for Southern Sanitation along with backup sniffers Imperato and Polack.

For all the unremitting BS Greenwald has tossed Destry’s way he sure looks chummy now! Why shouldn’t he? Free food and a small chance to plug into the public dole make for powerful incentives to love thine enemy.
Neither of them belong on the bench.

Where’s Greenwald’s utube for Broward judge ? I can see he doesn’t mean what he said about Destry. He’s just as oily as that bum.

Strauss is a technical lawyer who leaves no stone unturned in the execution of his responsibilities. His win ratio remains far above most other lawyers in the State Attorney’s Office. He is a pleasure to work with and a consummate gentleman. I am proud to be counted among his supporters

I won’t be surprised when they execute a warrant at the home of Scott Strauss and find a cavalcade of kiddy porn. The guy is a freak that belongs locked in a glory hole.

Because he is definitely off. Anyone that has spent any amount of time with him knows that. But I can’t stop laughing at him.

I counted eight negative comments about Scott Strauss. I hope some of the people who post their thoughts here will for once shed the veil of anonymity, write the JNC, and let the members know why you believe that this lawyer is utterly unqualified to be a judge.

      Oh Maury, you sad sack.

One would think after so many years on your own you’d be able to do more than a P.O. Boxed, court-appointment tool.

And stop being so envious of younger attorneys who kick ass, post their names, and win trials. As they say, “if you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.”

Sure would hate to have your reputation following me around.

Maury has always been a judicial brown noser. A little late to change his game now. It all depends on who he’s got a case in front of.

“Utterly unqualified to be a judge” Maury ? Sounds like he kicked you pretty hard in trial. What’s your real gripe with Strauss ?

      1. 0

        0

Strauss cannot even try a case. He yells at himself, loses it when things don’t go his way and has no touch with reality. He keeps calling himself the government because he wants to be a federal prosecutor so bad. He is dangerous because he is so dumb and will do anything to satisfy his ego. Anyone who spends more than 2 minutes speaking to him can realize that something is off with the guy.

What good would THAT do? The last written 19 page letter to the Governor about a nominee gave us judge Botox and via Broward Health.
