They’re bailing off Satz’s raft faster then the jury can decline to kill a bunch of cop killers. Broward needs a change!!!!!

This is no joke. It seems everyday there’s multiple senseless murders in the paper. Crazy violence too. Satz needs to go. He’s lost control . Everyone knows it but him. He can’t keep the talent anymore either. The warped ratio of serious cases to solid lawyers inevitably means more violence. Broward streets are a free for all. It’s scary.

Looking to get back on the dole. Once they’ve had a taste they never stop trying to get back at the trough.

      Here they are:
Candidate 1 – house/mortgage/car lease/government retirement fund from time w state/student loan/45k to maybe barely 100k a year current earnings from law practice.

Candidate 2 – house/mortgage/car lease/government retirement fund from time w state/student loan/45k to maybe barely 100k a year current earnings from law practice.

Candidate 3 – house/mortgage/car lease/government retirement fund from time w state/student loan/45k to maybe barely 100k a year current earnings from law practice.

      For incumbents
      house/mortgage/car lease/government retirement fund/state paycheck aka windfall

I haven’t been on the blog in quite some time. I am still around but I just don’t sit on the blog. I hears such bashing of Judges. There are still and were many good ones. Judge Marcia Beach, GM Debbie McClosky, Hope Bristol, Gillespie, Lopane, Mind Brown…………..lots of them. They all cared or care and did there best. The ones coming out now are just so darned young and inexperienced. But there were some great ones. I am just too lazy to go on.

Sapak should get this. Mike should be commended for training so many good judicial officers in his Homicide Unit. Passing through Homicide is the golden judicial ticket.

The answer to saving Homicide (and the SAO): 1L’s.

Hire them from St. Thomas and other top schools to intern in the unit over summer. $2000 a week should be enough to get them, and to come back second summer. To get the money they have to commit to 5 yrs as an ASA post graduation.

This will ensure a higher level of trained Homicide lawyers that will be around for years, unlike the year or two they’re getting now.

Alternatively, someone inspiring could beat the pathetic current SA and then people would stick around.

Good 🤔 but is there money in the budget to pay enough for the top students? Excellent plan otherwise.

Not necessary; the SAO gets law student interns for free, dozens of them, every year. The 3Ls (because they can appear in court) go to the misdemeanor unit and handle caseloads. The 1Ls and 2Ls go to other units (including occasionally homicide) to assist taking some of the work off the attorneys. The real plan to save homicide is simple. Get rid of the dead weight people who are making twice what they should be for their cushy-semi-retired positions. There are people in case-filing, dvu, mental health, juvenile, dtu, & ecu making more than homicide attorneys. The head and second in charge of misdemeanor both make more than homicide attorneys. I could go on and on. Satz, this isn’t rocket science, your homicide attorneys should make the most money in the office except for yourself, your second in command, and the HEADS of your violent crime units such as CCU, TTL, FTU, SBU, and DVU. Simple.

The PD’s office is worse. The top paid do nothing but run around acting like they’re doing something, anything. That’s is if you can find them coming to work at all. NO CASE LOADS.

He should also make people go there for more money. Get rid of the 5 and 6 year lawyers that are there. You shouldn’t be in homicide with less than 10 years trial experience. The homicide Unit is a huge joke now. They lost all their good people. It’s mostly a laughing stock now

Agree, some of the people in homicide now could barely try a misdemeanor. Satz, you have turned your office into an embarrassment.

Bailiff, go grab your wallet that you left in the courtroom. I don’t trust it in there with those thugs.

Thomas Arden!!!! Like really. He is so slow and self absorbed it will take him one day to hear one case.

Family Lawyers would love to see Sarah Prieto or Rotem Adar as a Hearing Officer as they are both with OAG, Child Support Enforcement and they both are excellent attorneys.

Now that Kristen is on the campaign trial, Ken is hanging with a total hot piece of ass. A hot blonde with a young skinney body. Not Kristen’s dumpy old Mom body.

I’m so jelous. I heard Ken is done with Kristen after the election win or lose. Ken’s new girlfriend doesn’t have a gap tooth and is SUPER hot. Good for him! Love that guy.

I saw Ken’s new girlfriend. Super hot, non-mom-bod. I’m hope Ken is going balls deep in her!!

Does anyone find it WEIRD that Ken bought and sold houses with this girlfriend in 2016?

I heard that Kristen was suspicious about a younger girl a couple a years ago. Can anyone confiem?

Can’t blame Ken, Kristen needs to go to the gym to lose the shaggy old looking mom-bod!

Kristen is honestly one of the finest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I’ve known her for many years. Don’t know her husband other than an occasional hello.
Anybody that says these nasty things about her is either a complete AH or has never had any association with her.

Maybe he’s hoping lightning will strike twice.

    Apply for County, get Circuit.

    Apply for GM, get County.

I hear he’s an excellent golfer.

Welcome to Broward where judges have pulled out all the stops to win, no matter what the consequences later. We’ve seen it repeatedly: the race card, the name game, crooked political consultants, crooked judges – it’s all in the bag for these gophers seeking to either remain Broward judges or judicial candidates looking to clip incumbents for the ultimate prize. And all for Chicken Feed and Judicial Perks.
Most couldn’t make it in Private Practice so it’s an easy road to a steady paycheck where most continue to remain unanswerable for any misdeeds by either the JQC or the Bar.
      They call it Public Service.

I was successful in private practice. I was able to earn $800.00 per month. But I gave it all up for the ORCC.

This is exactly what we’re talking about. Unqualified losers looking for the judicial jackpot playing the name game. Fu*king pathetic.
