ATTENTION ASA’S: GINGER DOWNS STATEMENT

Here is the Ginger Downs statement, uploaded by Channel 10.  We didn’t bother posting it on Friday because it was assumed everyone had already seen it over at Bob Norman’s place.  But since an ASA told us today it still hasn’t been widely read at the SAO, this “must read” is being posted now.

As for why FDLE wasn’t present during the statement despite their “ongoing” investigation, Tim Donnelly told us this morning “it’s an administrative statement, that’s all it is,” suggesting since FDLE was conducting a criminal investigation, they had no place at the administrative table …

Let me understand this. The Crime Lab is minorly breached and Ongley gets shown the door by BSO.

DTU is ironically (thanks Tim) exposed as the biggest drug dealer in town, and Satz doesn’t even bother to transfer Gallagher and Daus and the rest of the clueless out of there?

It would seem Satz’s rap as soft on corruption is well deserved.

So FDLE gives the SA the heads up about the secretary for the head of the DTU having a drug dealing boyfriend. The same secretary who has been there for 21 years and probably knows who all the players are. Then the SA gives her immunity? As opposed to setting up a sting and busting her ass. What are the implications?

I would say maybe Satz didn’t know about the relationship but since spies and rats climb fastest over there certainly he must have heard and been ok with it.

Satz will call an office meeting to explain to his troops the ineptitudes and hypocrisy and after saying good afternoon will sit down and let Ishoy speak.

Yeah right!!! Even if it only was an administrative statement, as a courtesy FDLE should have been notified. Don’t you think FDLE would want to be there to see what she had to say? Frankly, this story of FDLE involvement does not appear credible.
There are still many unanswered questions that the SAO has to address. This is not going away any time soon.

I beg to differ. Ginger’s boyfriend isn’t a former drug dealer. She accompanied him on a drug deal the night before her statement. She was also Ted’s secretary for a while back in 2010 or so. This whole thing stinks to high heaven.

Why did Ginger give a statement? She should know better, wtf!
She must know 100 lawyers, i have to be missing something here.

For immunity, duh. Wink wink……you didn’t tip any warrants, right Ginger? Ok, now get out of here, with your pension……….

Why would they take that horseshit statement at face value? The spoon fed, gentle questions?

Everything passed through her hands. No warrants, ci’s or uc’s or operations were compromised? Over years and years and 100’s of deals?

What was she doing there then? Why didn’t she just give him the money and stay home? What was his reason for “forcing” her to go 100’s of times if not to protect him by selling out the good guys? Was officer safety compromised? How expensive in blown operations?

Why aren’t the Feds looking at this and Mr. Satz’s office as a whole?

I believe them when they say they couldn’t prove anything. That Office couldn’t convict Pacino of overacting in Scarface. Better to cut losses and hope the next secretary only sells pills.

They met on Facebook? He “forced” her to go along? She didnt know his history at first? All bullshit.
Hilarious how Schwartzreich says she’s accused of tipping people off to warrants but that ends up not materializing. He loves talking to the press.
FDLE extended the Broward SA one big ass load of professional courtesy. I bet anyone lunch her hard drive and cell phone went away and they aint coming back. God only knows what this chick and her boyfriend were really up to. But will we ever know?

Schwartzreich stumbled from the gate! Amateur Stuff. Talk about spilling the beans ! I wouldn’t hire this duffis to pin the tail on the donkey! I’ll bet he’d miss the piñata too ! Typical goof who say or do almost anything to get his mug on tv no matter how stupid it sounds ! Time to flee to NY for a family emergency again. This dude is entirely too ripe for words ! Just my opinion from what I’ve seen so far.

No of this is passing the proverbial smell test. Time for a special prosecutor. And as for BSO investigating, forget that. Satz and Israel are both up for re-election. One hand scratches the others back and vice versa.

    Let’s play name that tune:
Conspiracy to sell or deliver cocaine
Conspiracy to sell or deliver pills
    Possession of cocaine
    Possession of pills

“I was present for the hearing and you didn’t honor our substantial agreement. I told the Court, at that time, we would not be doing any more substantial agreements in front of Your Honor and that’s where we’re at” (p3).

“I cannot trust the Court to do the right thing next time we have an agreement with Your Honor” (p4).

“To me, the Court has a certain agenda. That’s my perception of the Court. I apologize for stating my opinion. Since I was called in on a case not even my own, I’ll speak bluntly with the Court. That’s the inference I’m drawing from the rulings you’re making” (p5).

Basically, Gallagher accuses the Judge of being too lenient on drug cases, which is not, according to Gallagher, “the way we work” (p5).

Here you have a prosecutor having a hissy fit in court and telling the judge he was dishonorable (a king daddy allegation against “your honor”), untrustworthy, and operating from an ulterior “agenda.”

Sleazoid little Assistants doing the Master’s bidding. Why draw ASAs attention? This is why they’re hired. Ask no questions. Follow orders. Sacrifice soul. Some day Big Daddy will protect them too.

Who dare argue the defendant should be out on a reasonable bond on a trafficking case. Just for seeking bond while the case is pending. Here Ginger answered questions that make Donnelly look like a baby misd lawyer.
Oh you did a drug deal with your boyfriend yesterday. Don’t worry I’m not following up by asking WHERE it was or WHO else was present, or what the drug was and the amount, etc. NO. No real questions.
No worries you’ve got immunity. Have a nice day Ginger.
    Don’t forget your cell phone.
    Thanks Tim. You’re welcome Ginger.
By the way…Hey don’t forget to call the computer guys and to get rid of her computer.
    Good job SAO

How much will honest taxpayers be paying Downs in pension for the next 40 years because Satz has no stones?

You’ll be missed Lubna. U leaving the end of this month along with Frank ? Is there going to be a going away party for U guys ? I don’t blame u for leaving. Things get worse around here every day.Who’s gonna get your cases is what I want to know?

Frank Negron is leaving, not De La Torre.

At least 6 other PDs will be leaving soon. Miami and West Palm have similar sized offices and pay their PDs way more. Starting pay in Miami is 45k and in Broward, several PDs handling 1st degrees make less than that. All felony attorneys in West Palm make at least 50k – Felony Broward PDs aren’t even close to that.

      Where’s the money being spent?

      1. 0

        0

Money is being spent at the top, stupid; that’s why we’re all leaving. That and we’re getting dumped on all the time. But we’re getting new notepads so I guess that’s supposed to count for something! Really bad management I’d say.

EXACT same problem at the state. Too many Indian Chiefs, not enough Indians (or good, solid trial lawyers). You’ve got kids trying capital cases at 51K a year and then Ron Ishoy making 120K (3 starting prosecutor salaries) without a law degree. Both the PD and the SAO need a good, solid audit.

There should be LESS staff (it’s the tech age after all) AND lawyers in BOTH offices. This way means more work BUT more money for the efficient and intelligent lawyers who are willing to work real lawyer hours who will quickly separate themselves from the pack AND be paid over $100,000 within the first few years of employment so they feel like real lawyers AND will want to stick around for a long time.

        2. 0

Too many chiefs, not enough Indians, at least that stay around very long . How many does this make now that have called it quits ? Bad management practices don’t even touch it.

Liz McHugh said in her campaign that the PDs budget is 20 million a year – someone posted the top’s salaries and it 1.3 million. Where’s the rest of the money? What else is 18.7 million being spent on?

    2. 0

      0

Why would De la Torre leave ? He’s just another one in PD that’s riding it out for as long as he can. He hasn’t done anything in years, and I mean nothing.

I remember another Satz & DTU coverup. Remember when a career criminals prosecutor husband was arrested for dealing drugs?
    http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/Prosec.html
That same prosecutor had been dating that cop (Grady) later charged with molesting woman while she was married.
    http://www.browardpalmbeach.com/news/the-pervert-cop-and-the-prosecutor-6441630
Hey daddy this prosecutor stuff takes a little work (oh wait she was in Backman, I stand corrected) can I be judge now?
    Sure honey. No problem.

The guy in Carpenter’s race moved to Benson and Alcalde today. Looks Ike that is going to November. I wonder what Carpenter had to give up to get this guy to move and get elected unopposed?

All youse whiny babies best learn that voting Americans support men like MJS who understand the ends justify the means. Nobody wants to live next to them and MJS is happy to oblige.

Say what you want, Carpenter is the Frank Underwood of the 2016 election cycle. No one has enough time to get into her race. She is the next Porth/Bailey, getting in without a fight.

More judicial appointments would mean less political whores hitting the campaign trails in Broward and a possible decrease in judges arriving drugged up or drunk to the bench in the mornings; possibly far less automobile accidents too ! I’m in favor of Governor Scott’s decision. If Palm Beach goes the way of Broward, we’re all in trouble with its corruption and political backbiting.

  23. 0

Scott appointee ZACCOR doesn’t get opposition? That race is a no brainier.

Levy-Cohen, doesn’t either? She’s disliked equally by all in the courthouse.

Zaccor raised a ton of $. He is liked by all. Someone would be stupid to put in against him. Benson is a train wreck wherever she goes and Alcalde doesn’t have any $ and hasn’t done any fundraisers. That is the race to get into. Both are easily beatable. One because she wants it so much she looks crazy (Benson) and the other because she doesn’t seem to even want it at all (Alcalde).

The Broward State Attorney should be investigated by an outside agency that has nothing to do with other hinky dinky Florida agencies.

  25. 0

Zaccor happens to be a pretty good judge and DiPietro has not been bad either. I’m pleasantly surprised by both. But, I don’t get the whole immunity thing at SAO.

People at PD and SA starting to figure out they can make more at Legal Aid? With a lot less aggravation and a lot less hours.

  28. 0

With as many leaving maybe now some of the upper level do-nothing’s will have to handle a case or two. Our clients are the ones suffering. Heard more are leaving to Regional Counsel where the get an automatic raise of 20 grand. People are catching on to the BS real fast.

  29. 0

    0

After being in office for 40 years, Satz should learn to grow a pair & speak up to the media. That would save taxpayers 120grand/year plus benefits & pension for Ishoy who is known as a do-nothing useless tool around the courthouse.

As for Ginger & Barona’s relationship, she was showing him off & introducing him to everyone (including both Tim and Michael J. Shatz) at the SAO Holiday Party back in December.

The Fink can’t help himself. His narcissism only allows him to see his own reflection in the mirror. The only question is how much damage he will continue to do to the office by forcing good attorneys out the door. Although he has always blamed the budget for the lack of raises in the office, he continues to fund the largest inactive administrative staff in the state . What a waste of taxpayer dollars and a disservice to to poor people charged with crimes. Has any other person in Broward County alienated so many good people over the past 10 years? I don’t think so. The Fink is a fraud and it is no longer a secret.

  31. 0

Come on now. It’s no different at the State. So many supervisors with so few cases. Layer upon layer of insulation so plausible deniability is always in place. El Chumpo and his nincompoop in DTU protecting in house drug trafficker is but one example. There must be fifty lawyers that leave at 11 and pop back in at 3 to make it look good. But when things blow up he shrugs his shoulders and shakes it off. How could he have known they say. It’s the perfect mousetrap with the Big Cheese laughing at everything and everyone.
