The defense may have prevailed but I thought McNeill did a terrible job. If they hadn’t had a juror or two who were set against the death penalty from the get go the result would have been much different.

McNeil would have won this other
      fetal alcohol syndrome case too.
She’s easily better than the rest

This is obviously Raag. What do you Need the additional accolade for? To pad your resume when you try to put in the for the supremes? Just stop it. You’re disingenuous and obviously got too big for your britches. The defense bar isn’t looking to reward a MAGA sympathizer.

Judge Singhal has not been ignored at all. He received the highest Award that FACDL-Miami awards, the Gerald Kogan Distinguished Judicial Award (The Kogie) last year.

Judge Singhal has moved on to bigger and better things. The BACDL flunkies are jealous. While it would be nice for his so called hometown association to acknowledge his accomplishments, I’m sure it’s an afterthought to a man playing on the large stage.

I’m confused. This is from the BACDL email : We are accepting nominations for the Gulkin award. In addition to the Gulkin Award, we have the Brian Reidy Public Interest Award. Lawyers who have been practicing for less than five years and currently practicing public interest law are candidates for this award. The award will also include a scholarship

Melisa and Blostein have way more than five years under their belts.

Blostein ? You’ve got to be kidding. Over five years of doing next to nothing is still nothing. Aptly named the Reidy award ! LOL

Whoa. Wait a minute. You mean besides being one of the biggest bigoted blowhards ever to wander the halls of Justice and getting disciplined and suspended without pay for a period of time for shooting his mouth off in open court about the defendant he was representing in front of Judge Levinson ? That Brian Reidy ? I guess you can call that giving back.
I call it scraping the bottom of the barrel unless it comes with two six packs of green beer.

FYI Brian was an amazing lawyer who had a passion for being a public defender. And your facts are completely wrong! Even though the stupid joke got blown out of proportion, he was never suspended or really disciplined for it. And although it doesn’t matter other than to show how little you know, it wasn’t about his client and it wasn’t about race. How many cases have you tried?

He only got slapped with a week or two off with no pay and a verbal as I remember for making a discriminatory statement to the judge about his client. Never thought the guy was very bright. Thought he drank entirely too much and had a big mouth, wasn’t too swift in Court and spent most of the time trying to ingratiate himself with the judge being pretty obvious about it. other than that, he was alright. Ran into to him a few times at a bar and thought he always seemed pretty impressed with himself. More than was called for. Don’t know how much of that was just his personality or how much he believed it or how much it was the booze talking.

What did Brian Reidy ever give back and to whom? All he ever did was schmooze. Talk about pushing snake oil. The idea of naming any award after this schmo is hilarious but typical of Bacdl.

I for one have seen Reidy in trial. Very unimpressed. Mediocre at best. I guess that’s why he remained a Public Pretender his entire career and never accomplished anything else. Not like I’d ever buy him a keg of beer for his performance.

Thanks to me I made you notoriously infamous. An award winner. You should award me Please send me money for my commissary in prison. I need to protect my life from these inmate predators.

BACDL has lost all credibility if it ever had any. Now it has become nothing but a chump shop for political brown-nosers.
