Someone at the court house does not know that we are still in September (or they are predicting we are going thru this all over again in exactly one month), based on this notice they JUST posted at http://www.17th.flcourts.org/index.php/announcements/341

The Broward County Court System will be closed starting at noon today, Wednesday, October 5, and will remain closed on Thursday and Friday, October 6 and 7. The dependency shelter hearings, delinquency detention, domestic violence and first appearance divisions will remain open today, October 5, until the dockets are finished. All court services will be suspended on October 6 and 7.

Pending any unforeseen circumstances, the 17th Circuit will re-open on Saturday, October 8, for first appearance, and delinquency detention and dependency shelter hearings. All other court services will resume business as usual on Monday, October 10, again, pending any unforeseen circumstances.

This circuit will be applying to the Florida Supreme Court for an extension of deadlines.

This announcement will be updated, as needed.

Judge Schiff is this week’s bond court judge and has indicated that they are planning to handle bond court on Thursday and Friday on a holiday schedule with just morning dockets. He is not sure how they will handle this weekend’s bond court – according to what he was told is they plan to still have them weather permitting. As always, this is subject to change.

I just saw the looters in Ft Lauderdale on the news, all black. After a national disaster of a hurricane this is the way you respond? Maybe your energy could be better utilized by helping your family recover from the devastation we have been hit with. No doubt you will loot all you can carry then be the first in line for any free help from the government you can get. Where are all your black leaders when they see your sick actions, poor pity you that you are not treated equal. Martin Luther King should see you now, you are living his dream. If I were mayor I would order you to be shot on site. You are nothing more then low life disgusting trash.

It appears YAA, despite being built using 20 million of tax payer dollars was not utilized during the storm. I wonder if this was a Joel Osteen situation? Lots of Davie residents who are neighbors to YAA, especially the trailer park next door, could have used help. If true, why wasn’t it used as a staging area for FPL or other emergency services?

Horrible. They could have opened YAA as a shelter for single mothers with kids under 5. I would have to imagine going to shelter as a single mother with small children would be a scary experience. If they can dedicate a shelter for pets they could do more for single moms. YAA should have stepped up.

Not all looters are black, just the ones who go to prison. White ones can scam the county for 20mil and refuse to pay back the debt without repurcissions.
