PB Post: Boca Raton police arrest Broward judge on DUI charge
It’s a Refusal …
Coming Soon – Wedded Bliss!
*UPDATE* –
BUSTED!
Lastly, JAABLOG’s two phone messages to Peter Weinstein earlier today questioning whether a judge with pending criminal charges would be allowed to sit in a criminal division have yet to be returned …
How unusual. Another Broward County Judge unworthy of the robe. The news is becoming so repetitive that the media ought to create a “fill-in the judge’s name” template for judicial misconduct news releases.
I want what she’s taking! She’s a superhero- she can party til past 1 am in boca and then get to court at 8 for a docket.
I find it interesting that anytime a judge, police officer, or state attorney is pulled over for DUI, they always refuse the roadside sobriety test. I have heard that the refusal results in an automatic suspension, but the driver can then petition DMV for an administrative hearing to get the license reinstated while the case is pending, and without the test results, the hearing officers often side with the drivers. I don’t drink at all, much less drink and drive, but I find this all very interesting. Someone experienced in DUI defense please educate me.
This is really too bad. I’m no prosecutor, but I can say that, without a doubt, Judge Imperato is a really good person, and a really good judge. In the event that this screws-up her judicial career, she’ll wind up making a lot more money in private practice.
She will get DUI Diversion because she is not under the auspices of that little worm MJS.
Maybe she can hire Al Milian … He definitely has “DUI experience” !
Oops.
Maybe if you read the reports a little more closely, you’d do better in trial.
She was stopped at 11:05 pm.
Another genius Broward Judge. Maybe the alcohol was clouding her brain it couldn’t have been only her entitlement that made her feel she can completely ignore the officer. With that attitude she needs to be back in the private sector. Why was she calling an atty? Wasn’t this her 1st DUI?? Not that she would have to pay for one I’m sure she is owed a favor somewhere but she shouldn’t waste it. No atty. needed chica. If 1st DUI you can Waive Formal Review and get hardship right away with no down time so she can drive to court… I mean work and she is eligible for Palm Beach County’s 1st Time DUI Offender Program. But then again she may want to fight the case. How dare they arrest her with the common folk!
Wow… maybe she will do better as a brunette
They should get Joyce Julian to cover her docket while they make Imperato’s DUI disappear.
I’m not surprised.
Her JA is nasty and useless.
Cindy’s phone a friend card doesn’t work north of the border?
Now David is going to have to cancel his honeymoon.
Wonder how she likes being on the other side….she should resign. Bet if she was arrested in Broward she wouldve got a free pass
Drinky mean no thinky bout all the blacky u locky uppy.
She has been stopped in Broward while impaired but given a ride home.
an investigator should be hired to watch these judges and judge-wannabes for their drinking habits. count their drinks, take pictures of their bar bill and video them getting into their cars and driving home or to another bar. call 911 and report them. then kick them off the bench or keep them from getting on it by not voting for them.
We vote for them, they vomit on us.
Is that permanent eye liner?
If she were anyone else in Broward, she’d have also been charged with resisting w/out for not doing stepping to the front of the car.
I worked in her courtroom for several months. She was not a compassionate person. Now she has to face the music. And this is her second DUI. Too bad, so sad..
I just want to you which lawyer she was trying to call when the police began to question her.
hmmm, funny how now the table is turned, interesting to see how much of “innocent until proven guilty” she gets to see and that it doesn’t apply to her cause it doesn’t apply to anyone anymore. welcome to the real world Judge, judge and you get judged too, you reap what you sew……
Weinstein will be covering tomorrow, or Bidwell, or Levenson while Cindy is “sick”?
17th Circuit, HEAL THYSELF
This has been coming for a long time. It’s been going on bar side at Maguires every Friday night into the wee hours for as long as I can remember. She’s a specialist at the weave and bobb!
Don’t expect anything from Weinstein but the usual dodge. They said she was sick today when I showed up in her courtroom. More like sleeping a bad one off. Weinstein will stick with as little he can get away with, for that’s his style as a do nothing politician. Broward sure has some kind of judges. They are both true to Broward form planing judicial damage control.
Who runs the asylum anymore? It seems like the inmates have been running free for some time…….
Jeb Bush gave Broward some doozies.
“Broward Chief Judge Peter Weinstein said there is no specific protocol in place dictating how to handle a judge in this situation.”
Silly me.
I thought the protocol was well established.
Cover everything up as much as possible.
Isn’t that the way it’s always been done in Broward?
The CJ needs to grow a pair. Chief Judge Ross would have already moved Judge Imperato. She can always be moved back after the storm is over. The current CJ is adding unnecessary fuel to the fire by waffling.
I think Arlene Backman is going to be a Circuit Judge again.
Sounds like another Gardiner in the making. Next thing she’ll be stalking some guy, running into the back of a car and taking off.
The judges of Broward County never learn much of anything other than to be prosecutors in robes and to throw them back until caught at something really good like this and then circle the wagons against any criticism.
BROWARD has the worst judges in the state. Surprised she didn’t try to work something out with the cop that pulled her over. Great booking pic. She looks even worse than she does in person.
JUST ANOTHER POWER DRUNK FLOOSEY. HOW MANY DUI’s DOES IT TAKE TO SEE THIS CHICK HAS A PROBLEM?
These people really have no shame at all. Isn’t this the same restraunt she hangs out at all the time? I seem to remember reading an article about her before this. Don’t count on Weinsten doing anything about it ether. All he’ll do is try to bury it somewhere.
Is this her second or third DUI ?
Just what we need on the bench, another lush on a power trip. Never thought much of her.
If Judges were rotated it wouldn’t be hard to find a place to move her or another Judge to replace her. This place is a total joke.
All Broward judges should have to undergo a psychological screening before taking the bench. From what I’ve seen, that would eliminate about half of the problems.
NO BIG DEAL. SHE’S PROBABLY JUST WARMING UP FOR GARDINER’S BIG PARTY.
The Broward judicary needs a big purge starting with the chief judge. And these idiots sit in judement of others??? Something very wrong with this picture.
Guess Cindy wasn’t watching how much she had to drink. Either that or someone slipped her a mickey just to shut her up.
I wouldn’t wait for Weinstein to act. He’s got enough trouble making it to work as it is.
Judges are human beings. Plain and simple. They do their best job working as neutral entities, sometimes they mess up- both on the bench and off. But they are human. So please stop putting superhuman powers on them. That’s the system- human beings are judges. Would you rather have computers as judges???
When there are 90 judges in a circuit life will happen. At times they will do great things, at other times they will make mistakes…. just like everyone else.
It’s not exclusive to Broward. I read last year that a judge in North Florida was arrested for DUI. No one is perfect.
I don’t know this judge but I will give her the benefit of the doubt. Aren’t you all defense attorneys? Doesn’t everyone deserve their day in court before you judge them?
A former officer of law. A former prosecutor. A sitting judge. A 911 tape which shows an innocent someone could easily have been killed by a white Mercedes driven by all of the aforementioned. It’s not the first arrest for dui either.
This is someone who has no respect for her position. Alternatively it is someone who needs long term residential before being allowed on the bench again.
Does anyone have any updated information? Was she at work today? Has she made a statement? I am guessing that as a second DUI she has an uphill battle. I wonder if that 911 caller can be tracked down. He can testify to her driving behavior which bolster’s the cop’s testimony and then lack of breathalyzer is pretty much irrelevant.
Does anyone know if the first DUI was a refusal as well?
The price of still trying to play a blond bimbo at 56. Give it up, girl. And lay off the sauce while your at it.
The newspapers need to investigate this woman. She’s a disgrace.
We are all human and you all should speak of her as you would want to be spoken of should you have to deal with such a situation.
She needs to resign gracefully. It is not fair to keep her judgeship, regardless of where in the courthouse they stick her, when she has broken the law and been arrested. Judge Korda resigned for smoking weed. She needs to resign for a second DUI. She should have resigned from the first one! Or if it occurred before she sat on the bench, she shouldn’t have accepted the appointment. Get off the bench, you are pretty much a criminal now.
If I was arrested for DUI, I would pretty much expect to be talked about by everyone as a drunk unsafe driver.
I guess Imperato will not be hearing any DUI or DUI manslaughter cases any time soon.
Cindy steps down from the bench:
http://www.local10.com/news/broward-circuit-judge-facing-dui-charge-steps-down/-/1717324/22878844/-/1agu77/-/index.html
gardiner was a culmination of the impreatos, backmans, caneys, rosses and the rest that have beebn bleeding law and justice with criminal and illegal corruption and dishonesty so long in collusion with mickey mikey shitz and companies similar garbage that she really believes she does and did nothing wrong because her/their culture dictates this fantasy without accountability. That is why “bob” testified at her bar hearing that he wanted to promote her under his protection.
Girls that just want to have fun share the heartbreak with cindy and the gang at the broward courthouse. We got some real winners that need our support next time they run for office.
The Broward bench is a total disgrace that needs lookin after. Don’t count on Whiney Weinsten to sit first watch. He’s watching where the next bagel is coming from instead.
I’LL DRINK TO THIS. SHE’S NEVER BEEN ANYTHING BUT A PROSECUTOR IN ROBES ANYWAY. GLAD THEY CAUGHT HER BEFORE SHE COULD BEGIN WEAVING ALL OVER I-95 OR THINGS COULD HAVE BECOME MUCH WORSE. THE WARNING FLAG SHOULD HAVE GONE UP WAY BEFORE THIS.
The Sun Sentinel published an article addressing this overwhelming problem concerning Broward Judges that’s only about 5 years too late.
Broward Judiciary is known for it’s bad judges, from Former Chief Judge Ross, Judge Green, Judge Diaz, et al to now deposed Judge Ana Gardiner and most recently Judge C. Imperato.
The real problem however has never been addressed by any Chief Judge whose responsibility it is supposed to be to oversee these public outrages committed by Broward Judges in and out of their official capacities.
I wouldn’t count on now CJ Peter Weinstein to do anything but continue to cover for these boobs and to protect their pensions.
When you add up deposed Broward Judge’s pensions after stepping down from the bench, it comes to a whopping sum paid for by tax payers who can’t count on Broward Chief Judges doing anything but smoozing their fellow judges to be reelected to perpetuate the same kind of behavior seen repeatedly by Broward Judges.
Whether it’s tricks like these or Broward Judges doing next to nothing like Judge Diaz during the week for what they are being paid by tax payers, it’s the same problem that continues to be out of control and in fact supported by a Chief Judge who doesn’t take his responsibility seriously either. Broward County wreaks of croneyism and corruption and who’s to do anything about it? Nobody, that’s who.
A number of these palm greasers who lost their bids at being re-elected as Broward Judges wound up working for Rothstein and his group of thieves. What does that say? And I haven’t seen an article yet looking closely at that practice.
Not to mention Broward Judges that received campaign contributions from Rothstein that knew exactly what was going on over at that firm.
Broward County Judges need to be supervised and rotated, not simply transfered and hidden away from public view after what they’ve done and continue to get away with.
The responsibility remains for a Broward Chief Judge to get off his fat butt and do what is right, not politically expedient for his own purposes.
These and other matters concerning Broward Judges need to reported on relentlessly until the problems regarding Broward Judges is addressed and fixed by the only one that can do anything about it: Broward’s Chief Judge.
Dear Broward Judicial Jokesters:
If I agreed with you more – I would be you.
HATS OFF to your input and thank you for caring about the Corruption Crisis at the 17th Circuit.
Exposure is long overdue so keep writing!
To Watson’s supporters: Shame on you.
Weinstein will hold these jokers accountable the day he’s willing to work a full day. What’s interesting is how Weinstein’s chief cronies are with him while being unlike him when it comes to work ethic. Both Greene and Backman work hard. Opposites attract?
Foreclosure division becomes dumping ground! Word is that Imperato will be working in the fc division. Totally unqualified and insulting to both the banks and the homeowners. Judge Imperato started out as a police officer, then a prosecutor and then a criminal court judge; ZERO experience in any civil matter. The fc division is a hot spot in the courthouse, not the place to hide a judge facing criminal charges. Is this fair to the litigants in fc court??
This chick literally hangs on a barstool at McGuire’s all the time with some pretty suspect lookin dudes.
The interesting thing is that the Sun Sentinel is just now picking up on all of this when it’s been going on for a long time. What happened? Did they just wake up to what’s going on with these bad judges or have they been protecting them all along?
Is this her second or third DUI ?
You could mop the floor with this chick as many times as I’ve seen her flopped out at Maguires at closing time. She’s like a permanent fixture. It’s like last call material. And the answer is to transfer her to foreclosures? This place really is a bad joke.
She needs to get herself into First Step Sober Housequick. Maguire’s till lsst call? Is that on week days or weekends. Judge not others lest u judge yourself. She should resign.
@11:18
I agree she should resign. With this her second DUI, it’s time to go. Headline for Whiney: THERE IS NO WAY THIS WOMAN CAN EVER SIT IN CRIMINAL OR IN ANY DIVISION WHERE SUBSTANCE ABUSE IS AN ISSUE.
Whiney, put a fork in her she’s done.
If she was so drunk on so many occasions , I’m sure with all the picture/video taking cell phones somebody would have proof of such defamatory statements
Truth is a defense to libel. The good judge, or shall I say the not so good judge, should remember that.
P.S. There is plenty of witnesses and evidence.
Did u c the video clip on the news of Imperato stumbling around and sitting cuffed in the back of the police car on this evenings re-cap? She looks like 10 pounds of chit in a five pound bag. Why would anyone have allowed her to leave the meeting looking like that? She looked totally cracked and sounded worse. Do all the judges in broward behave like this?
Video clip? Link, please.
Watched the video she sounds fine and walked fine. Let’s see how you walk with high heels, hands cuffed behind your back, on the shoulder of the road with cars racing by, and 3 cops pushing you along.
Just watched the video. Drunk as a skunk. She will not win this case. This will be her second conviction.
Did she get an all cavity search?
JILF
Oh boy, now we know how to evade a DUI. Just refuse to do anything . Great role model , Imperato.! A drunk for a judge.
Now we know how to best a DUI. Just refuse to do anything. Great role model. A drunk for a judge. Wonder how many people were affected when she was hungover in court.
THIS SHOULD BE DEALT WITH HARSHLY. EVEN MORE SO BECAUSE IT’S A JUDGE.
Big deal 3/4 of the lawyers are drunks!!!
Yes they are but at least they aren’t passing judgment on others.
JUST ANOTHER FLOOSEY
