COURTHOUSE FOR SALE

The juror/employee/police/general public parking structure attached to the courthouse by the bridge extending over NE 3rd Avenue was festooned by adhesive advertisements yesterday.

Pictured above is an ad for Eric Schwartzreich in one of the elevators.  Other ads include one for a divorce lawyer with the slogan “Lose the spouse, keep the house.”  There’s even one on the automatic lift arm that’s transponder activated on the way in to the secured garage.

Progress?

Well they may not move the bigot for the right reasons but surely if KFC pays to put a statue of Colonel Sanders in Bonaparte’s place the mission shall be accomplished.

They’ve been doing this at the Miami criminal courthouse for two years now. Hager and Schwartz are one of the big advertisers. Ask them if it works.

THE GARAGE IS NOT PUBLIC SPACE IT IS CONTROLLED BY THE CURRENT LEASEHOLDER
THE PROPERTY IS OWNED BY THE
BROWARD COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

I think the lease granted by the CC shouldn’t allow them to paint up the halls of justice with ads. The amount of revenue must be minimal as well as weighed against the cost of making the jurors and employees and judges feel like they’re working in a carnival or a baseball stadium.

His offices are directly across the street from the Courthouse and the advertisement doesn’t say anything about office location?

Schwartzy Stickers are the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen. They will hurt him more than increasing business.
I guess it’s the cheapest way to advertise, but it makes us all look bad.

There was certainly a public notice about the availability of these marketing opportunities given this is a Broward owned space. Besides the adverts are already peeling off the wall until the vandals can finish the job.

They’ve already pealed the Swartzreich mugs off the elevator wall. Got one stuck on my shoe. Bad idea Swartzreich. It cheapens our profession. We’re not realtors.

Attorney mugs — for a price — cover courthouse garage

Looking for a good place to find an attorney? Check out the garage at Broward County Courthouse.

Circus-poster-sized ads scream at garage customers making their way to the courthouse: “Lose The Spouse and Keep the House;” “Arrested in Broward County?” and “We Can Help.”

The ads were put up Tuesday night at the previously ad-less garage. They are everywhere: On the walls, in the elevators, at the entrance to the covered walkway to the downtown Fort Lauderdale courthouse — even on the gate arms that raise and lower themselves for cars coming in to park or leaving the garage. Many had pictures of the advertising attorneys.

“It does reach out to people that will need services at the Broward County Courthouse,” said Eric Schwartzreich, one of the attorneys who bought ad space.

Schwartzreich said he’s only done limited advertising in the past and tried to create a “classy” approach, but he admitted, “I’m not so sure having my picture in an elevator is a classy way.”

The ads are allowed as part of a management contract the county signed in 2014 with SP-Plus. The company pays the county a minimum $300 month or 35 percent of total advertising revenues, whichever is greater, according to the agreement.

Assistant Broward County Administrator Alphonso Jefferson said the attorney ads are as acceptable as any other type of advertising that doesn’t have “obscene, false or misleading information” and doesn’t promote anything that’s illegal.

Jefferson didn’t know how much the company was charging for the ads. A company representative didn’t return phone calls seeking comment Wednesday.

Attorney Michael Orenstein secured a prime location for his ads, on the gate arms, something that no driver coming into the parking garage could miss.

“I’ve been practicing for 33-plus years. I’ve never advertised at all [before this],” Orenstein said. He’d already heard from a number of people — some friends, some potential clients — who had seen the advertisements.

These were the first ads to go up in Broward’s courthouse garage. Orenstein said there are similar advertisements in Miami-Dade County’s courthouse garage.

Jefferson said the ads have nothing to do with replacing revenue the county lost when it decided to lower the parking rates in the courthouse garage in 2014.

At the time, the garage had one of the highest parking rates around. The county charged $8 an hour and $60 a day to park in the garage. Negative publicity about the rates led county commissioners to lower the price in 2014 to its current rates: a $15 flat fee from 7 to 11 a.m. and a $5 flat fee after 11 a.m.

What’s next Schwartzy, you gonna paper this chithole with bumper stickers ? Lol
I’d say you’re certainly living up to your greaseball rep.
Maybe a free tube of lube to each new client …
This place ain’t cheap enough without you in it.

If businesses is that bad maybe Swartzreich should get wifey to run for judge a third time. Pathetic. The last thing I want to see is his oily mug plastered everywhere before going to court in the morning. What’s next, free pigstickers ?

such jealousy from the less successful.
sorry you are not as talented, smart or successful as the good lawyers you hate on.
perhaps more time working on you clients cases and less time spewing hate on the blog would give you better results

This place resembles more and more a clownhouse every day. Didn’t Swartzreich run his wife for Judge twice with no success before getting her a job with the sheriff’s office?
Nobody is going to elect to public office anyone with the name of Mila Swartzreich in this town, lol.
Wish you could say they’d made social climbing into some kind of art form, but I call it pretty schlocky in a place where schmoozing is the norm.

Interesting that David never mentioned any of the corruption he is now a “whistle blower” about at his hearing before Judge Phillips. It only comes out in a failed attempt to sue to have the feds investigate and fine a Broward Health vendor wherein David would be eligible for up to 25% of the any tax payer money Broward Health was fined.

The article and grand jury proceedings seem to be absent any mention of David and the Zimmerman Advertising no bid million dollar deal with Broward Health. I am sure it is only a coincidence that that David came up working for Satz and Mike’s campaign manager, Alan Jean, worked the same capacity for Judge Nina.

lol, Seriously doubt that business is bad for Schwartzreich. He happens to be one of the better criminal attorneys in Broward , And is in court every day.Perhaps you should watch him in trial., to see what I am talking about. Oh, I forgot you don’t go to trial, you just blog in your pee-stained underwear.

All of you jealous haters need to get a life and some clients. Running a Law firm is like running a business and advertising in a courthouse where litigants are is actually a smart idea. Get some clients, get a life, and focus on inportabt issues, rather than sitting around jobless, clientless and blogging in your underwear and attacking a successful lawyer and throwing darts at his successful wife.
The more you talk about him, the more that it appears that’ the advertisement was in fact a great idea.. This blog has gotten him a free sun sentinel article, so the ad appears working.

Did you say successful wife ? The pair of them have been trying to put a square peg in a round hole for quite a while with no success. The networking hasn’t worked for them in Broward.
Hope their bumper sticker scheme bring them more success.

so many interesting issues. So the Feds turned it down because its a State case and the State convened grand jury? That sounds like its lights out for some of these dirty mutts.

Now number 2 yes its very crusty to have advertising in the elevator especially if you are a top criminal lawyer, which I consider Eric to be a very talented guy. I don’t think you would see Tom Messereau advertising in that way. That being said most people commenting are jerkoffs that make no money and literally try to figure out how to break the 150g a year mark when the top guys are making 7 figures a year. Maybe u guys should concentrate more on your own practices and less on Eric.

Shwartzy likely expected there would be some backlash to the tacky, low class ads and how they reek of desperation.

So get off your high horse and let the expected comments rain.

      1. 2

        2

Case in point: some unknwon guy named Orenstein is Schvartzy’s co-advertiser…and who the hell is that ?!

Some lawyers do great work and can rely on word of mouth, while others rely on creating an image and apparently dont care how desperate it looks to hang their cards on bathroom stalls.

Read closely, the Feds declined to take action long before the grand jury was conveniened. Go take a look on PACER, I hear this was not the first of these types of writs DiPietro sought and the Feds declined to pursue in regards to Broward Health

I guess you haven’t seen the dick somebody drew in black magic marker over his face on the one in the parking area. No BS. It’s pretty funny considering the fifty cents swartzreich probably paid for the sticker only to have it defaced in a matter of days of being put up. Not so sure he thought this thing out very well.

Kastenakes is putting in for Federal Judge? this should be sweet to watch. I have seen him yell at lawyers for petty things, roll his eyes at people speaking, lose it to his in court PDs and State attys.

Where do I send a letter. This guy has been a loose cannon for years.

sketchy dealings on behalf of Police and Judges that get stopped for tickets? Then one gets moved up and one wants to be a Federal Judge?

Wasn’t Kastrenakes a anti trump guy anyway? You think the President will allow an anti trump person become a Federal Judge? I guess 930am is right looks like a wave of kissing some butt. Here’s a good place to start:
