This county is 75% democratic? We alone could have one the gubernatorial election . We are dealing with the aftermath of the failure of our party to get people to the polls. Plain and Simple.

    Really? Nina Weatherly Di Pietro?

Makes you wonder if the accused judges are the only ones on substances!

    What was the committee thinking?!?!?!

Apparently she was fired from Fink’s for the very reasons the JQC “negotiated” the disgraceful resignation of Gardiner. No wonder with such inexcusable breaches of attorney ethics, attorney-client privilege and Bar rules, she’s in line for a judgeship’ Look at how Carney got in as a judge–on the wings of his (at least) four false and fraudulent malicious prosecutions exonerated after decades in prison, and the many more that were not, so that on the bench, he would then allow prosecutors to continue their lawyer malpractice similarly obtaining false and fraudulent convictions and illegal sentences he presided over that were then taken over by gardiner in the Shitz machine’s criminal organization and then disbarred for her lousy lying mouth. she fits right in. the question I have is: How come coward Howard and all the rest of you cowardly lawyahoos have NOT filed any Bar complaints against her for her actions that were ‘so severe” that resulted in her ‘not so easily done firing from the public defenders office?’ Help me Howard with this one!

Common let’s have some fun whose going to defend the decision to send her up. Where are the local republican goof balls? Tea parties?

Complete joke? Jason Kreiss is a boutique firm what she do carry his folder around?

Maybe the governor can consider the next big republican heavy hitter JAROSLAV JERKS ! Heard he has a strong Facebook presence

Because he’s a clunker like the others put up to make her the easy pick. Also it makes it seem like they routinely put people up with little to no experience like Dipietro.

Having her appointed as judge would be a slap in the face to anything decent that remains in this county.

A true joke for a judge…. and blatant political stunt.

Nina Weatherly DiPietro is a better choice than Abbe Rifkin? Or Betsy Benson? How can these committee members show their faces?

Ferguson has nothing on this place ! As a matter of fact, Broward County may be worse. It’s not just racially motivated, it targets the mentally ill as well as we have seen. Thanks to sites like these, these outrages are being brought to the attention at long last of the public. Please keep up the good work !

    Weatherly DiPietro over Betsy Benson?

IMHO the ‘Committee’ must be on some serious substances or they’ve got greasy palms…………….

She was getting paid half of that with either the pd or Jason Kreiss. She’s so mediocre her hubby didn’t want to waste the money and could not pawn her off on anyone else.

If she gets the job she will join the ranks of other grossly over paid judges: Cal Evans, Jill Levey and many other incompetents.

Mediocre is more than an understatement. Stacey Ross, Liz Scherer and now this bimbo ? They make no attempt to even offer even the lamest of comparisons. What’s there to say really: the Broward political machine remains for sale to the highest bidder, or the highest contributor. No doubt about it .

Jill Levy paid good money for her job. A few more terms and she may break even on all the cash spent in her election.

I don’t personally know about this Levy, but to answer the question, some insecure people will often grasp at titles or power to feel good about themselves, particularly those with money looking for a quick feel good cure.

She didn’t, originally when she ran she put in 500k. Spent about 200k in the election. After that she has put in big bucks but never draws an opponent.

I’d invest $200k for a part time job for life with no boss and accountability that pays 137k with pension and benefits. Who wouldn’t? It sounds to me she’s one thing many lawyers are not: a good business person. It’s no wonder she has money. She’s smart.

Wait to Carmel Cafero does a follow-up on where Broward Judges are at 2 in the afternoon. We’ll see. Part-time? Huh.

Broward County continues its judicial scam yet again ! It’s all politics and no merit. Don’t forget it. Who cares about the quality of judges in Broward. It’s obvious the jnc doesn’t . Look what we’ve got.

Donald Gelin should get it. He deserves it with all the hard work over the years. Before joining bso, he was a hard working private practitioner who earned his stripes to be judge in my opinion. All the others are deserving, but Broward county needs someone like Donald. Many of you don’t even know him, I would suggest you become familiar and consider supporting him if not this time certainly in the future.
