Nice. But I’d restate the punitives in the prayer for relief & both counts. I’d also add a count for interfering with the election. And her right to run for public office.

You should have anticipated this Howard and instead of getting your ego bruised about what Green said about you on that podcast, bided your time and let Gordon handle her.
Instead you have allowed her to define you and your admin and it just makes you look stupid and ineffective as Public Defender ! Don’t understand what you were thinking.

I’d add a count for poor planning based on them not transferring her to some crud detail like Tobin did to Spechler so she would just quit on her own like he did.

So much for Finkelstein’s quiet slide out of the PDs office. He hasn’t been around for years anyway. But this just adds another layer of smut to his muddy tenure as Public Defender.

Southern District don’t care about him. Lifetime tenure. If they pull Marra or a couple other left wing judges (and not allow for a wacky magistrate). Also I’d pick the 6 month speed timeline.

Go for it Ruby ! The phoney landlord needs to be taught a lesson. You nailed it ! The office is a mess, will get worse under Finkelstein’s lackey Weekes, and we all know Finkelstein has been MIA for a couple of years and he doesn’t really care about BLM or anything but himself. Its always been an act.
You called him out on his phoney baloney and he’s still smarting from it like the little bitch he is. Now make him answer for it.

I seen her in court. She just tries raising her voice when confronted w things like logic and rules, etc. That does NOT make anyone a good trial lawyer.

        agree 100

I have also seen that unreasonable behavior,

        as have others.

Is JAAB rallying behind this person?
Is the support one huge sarcastic troll-fest? It has to be.

I don’t understand how there is support for anyone who behaves this way. Her fed case is going to get tossed like a hot potato in a MTD (no oral argument will even be granted I bet), but the PD may keep it alive just to take it to MSJ in order to get max fees against her.

You’d be right but for 29 USC 216(b) being invoked in the fees demand at paragraph 40(f), which cuts both way.
The 216(b) method is gonna make a $$$$PAY DAY$$$$$, payable to the PD on a directed verdict.

            1983 won’t stop that payday.

Ruby probably got some good advice from her friends in SA. I wouldn’t be surprised if she makes something stick.
I always admired the way she advocated for our clients. Its fairly obvious Howard and Gordon didn’t like her from the beginning because she wouldn’t take their crap. She didn’t need anyone telling her what to do because she knew more than they did.

That can’t be correct because Howard Finkelstein promoted her. Sadly, it appears she proved herself not up to the task and was reassigned. Could it be that doesn’t jibe well with Ms. Green’s high opinion of herself, and that her candidacy was about a bruised ego?

The fact that Howard Finkelstein as Public Defender has consistently heralded himself as a champion of minorities does not comport with firing a single parent black woman for telling the truth about him and his extra-office activities; to wit, playing golf on office time or the lack of public support of Black Lives Matter.
I find this very disturbing that he should exhibit this kind of behavior on his way out the door or at any other time.

I’m so glad to hear a public leader doesnt support something as racist as black lives matter.

what about all the white people who were killed by cops?! Shouldn’t it be about police brutality, instead of something so insensitive like: “white lives don’t matter”

btw: what everyone else hears (other than the rabid, racist blacks) when they shout BLM is “whites killed by cops don’t matter”

After reading the above, I’ve just got to say: What kind of leadership qualities do you really expect from a former drug addict who failed in private practice, who lost his law license after running into the back of a cop car whacked out on drugs, then was given a big break by the judge after being charged with possession, hired by the Public Defender as an investigator when nobody else would touch him, allowed to regain his license, ran for public office, to wit as PD, screwed the guy that gave him a break and employed him, and then turned the office from a proud place to work with veteran great trial lawyers, into a bunch of paper-pushing social workers constantly looking over their shoulders for fear of supervisors who don’t carry caseloads or who have ever tried a case telling them how to try a case or what to do and how to do it, all so Howard Finkelstein can have a comment base for criticism and remain the focus of the invented pony tailed media darling known as “Help Me Howard “?
      Who really needs help?
Ever heard of rabid hypocrisy or totally self absorbed narcissism ???
Ruby Green was right to call him out for playing golf on office time, and for preaching one thing as long as it fits into his narrative, while really not giving two chits about any cause other than his own..
Ruby at least knows who she is and gives it her all, including telling the truth, rather than a paper mache pretender whose golf game stinks anyway and has offered very little in the way of leadership qualities or respect for those of us who really carry the load while he spews platitudes from both corners of his mouth and stands for nothing but for any attention he can draw to himself.
Firing Ruby Green, a black, single parent with a little mouth to feed for some perceived slight to his ego shows just what leadership qualities Howard Finkelstein is made of and what kind of person he really is. Its crystal clear.

I am sick of hearing how she is a single black parent, that’s a choice she made not him. There are millions of people that are single parents these days and being black doesn’t have a damn thing to do with it. If she is so smart and black maybe she should have realized as in any job there are things you say and times you keep your mouth shut. Being black, being single, give it up as a defense.

      LOL.

      The old “black victim defense”.

      Works every time.

Not that Howard ISN’T a POS. Al should have put Bob Wills in as PD. The guy did a case for me as a PD, in front of Judge Miette Bernstein when she was a juvvie court judge in ’76 – if that tells you how long he has been there. Howard had a “pretty public face” – that got him a job he wasn’t prepared for. He was funny and capable enough in private practice – but a PISS POOR ADMINISTRATOR.

Though I DO AGREE with not allowing his office to be associated with a marxist organization, whose fundraising is a money laundering operation for the dem party (BLM->ActBlue).

They should just NUKE the PD’s office – and pull SPD’s from the conflict counsel wheel.

While later obstructing DNA testing that could have resulted exonerating a wrongfully convicted person as AG. Just like Broward and the 4th DCA, scared the truth will come out and would rather enjoin than seek the truth exposing them all to criminal prosecution–like the really have anything to fear from the Bar or a special prosecutor.

He doesn’t have to, actually he didn’t need to even give a reason for letting her go. As a at will government employee all he had to say is BYE!!!

He lost another good lawyer. She’s making more money now so I doubt she’d come back to work for Mickey Mouse again.

Really ..she’s making more money now? Instead of the 52,000 she made as a PD she’s making 54k as a prosecutor?!

Great – maybe now she can send a payment in on her student loans. haha, yeah right

My call is Howard make a big mistake firing her, no doubt about it. Shows just how insecure he is. He’s been missing in action since Keuthan retired and is on his way out so I don’t understand what the big deal was to him unless he just couldn’t take the criticism. It shows a pretty big lack of critical thinking.
My personal opinion is he’s not been thinking too clearly for a long time. You have only to look at him if you can ever catch him even coming into work. His most recent decision in the Green matter has made this abundantly transparent.

Yep. Just like when she announced she was going to win her run for PD. Yep

hey Ruby: why aren’t you embarrassed to be a lazy deadbeat who won’t lift a finger to repay your $348,000 student loans (shafting the taxpayers with the interest), while still finding the audacity to take out a $40,000 car ??

Yeah we get it: you expect to just add the debt from this frivolous lawsuit that you’ll be spanked with to your overall debt and you’ll never pay anything back yet sit there and cry about how oppressed you are.

      1. 7

$348,000 in school loans to get a 52 grand a year job, what’s that 40 grand to live on after taxes? Then to be driving a 40 grand car as a poor single black mama, this chick seems to make one dumb ass decision after another. Maybe baby daddy is paying a big child support check for the kid that supports her life style? This law suit is yet another of her stupid decisions, as a lawyer she should know the rules of a right to work state. If she gets a penny just remember it’s us tax payers that will get screwed.

At least Ruby makes more than Howard ever did in private practice. Howard didn’t make squat until he screwed Al Schreiber and became PD.

So he fired another screaming black baby-momma for having a big mouth ! So what. She got another job. It doesn’t cost that much for baby food. She’s a hot mess with a runaway mouth. Its not like we don’t have plenty more where that comes from. Get in line.

Chicks with big mouths used to be the most popular girls in school in the high school I went to in NY and they never showed up without a date.
    Its really no big deal.

HOWARD FINKELSTEIN FIRES RUBY GREEN AS ASST. PUBLIC DEFENDER WHO WAS RUNNING FOR CHANGE WITHIN HIS OFFICE AND EXPOSED FINKELSTEIN FOR WHAT HE REALLY IS
A SINGLE BLACK WOMAN WITH A CHILD TO FEED AND CARE FOR AND BILLS TO MEET

THIS IS THE SAME MAN AS PUBLIC DEFENDER WHO HAS TOUTED BROWARD COURTS AS BEING DEVOID OF ANY MORAL COMPASS

JUST WHERE IS HOWARD FINKELSTEIN’S MORAL COMPASS

ONE GUESS IS MAYBE HE LOST IT ON THE GOLF COURSE
OR MAYBE IT WAS JUST A CONVENIENT TAG LINE ALL ALONG

Howard has always been a putz. Little guy fever with a golf swing my daughter would be embarrassed by.. He’s been riding on the Help me Howard gig since taking office that’s only designed to appeal to people with a learning disability.
As far as his tenure as Public Defender, its about as big a joke as his clown act on tv.
His administrative talents have been shown to be severely lacking in the extreme as every talented lawyer either left the office when he took over or have left since due to bad policy and the overwhelmingly popular opinion that he’s inept in the way the office has been run.
Green just called his bluff and spoke the truth to the way the office has more or less been abandoned by Howard for a long time to pursue his tv thing and left to be run by an equally inept bunch of worthless supervisors who don’t know their asses from their elbows.
Instead of handling his nose getting thumped by Green with any class, he did what he’s always done when he feels his image is being threatened, which is laughable but true.
He’s run the office into the ground and left it to a total dimwit like Weekes to pick up the pieces.
I wouldn’t have expected anything else from this putz.. He’s clueless.

Finkelstein’s hive mind has failed. He’s failed to make it stick anymore and knows it. That’s why he doesn’t come into the office. This Green thing is only to the most recent thing to show the office and Finkelstein’s influence has eroded to the point that nobody cares about anything he’s got to say.
