IMPERATO FLASHED BADGE

SS: Imperato JQC testimony

… (Boca Raton Detective) Immler said she showed the badge instead of her license when he asked her for identification. She showed him her license when he asked for it specifically.

(JQC Prosecutor) McGee argued that there was no other reason for her to show a badge instead of a driver’s license when asked for identification. But Imperato said she was merely identifying herself, admitting she was drunk at the time and not using the best judgment …

The only thing this chick should be presiding over is a cup of java juice at rehab … Two DUI’s don’t a judge make.. Well, maybe in Broward ! Lol

Regarding FJ’s mental breakdown and verbal tirade, are lawyers allowed to call judges names now?

I guess saying a Judge is a ‘clown’ and a ‘joke for a judge’ are not attacks on that judge’s integrity….?!

If McLawrence is just getting around to figuring out that Broward County is as he’s calling it full of “Coons” he’s even dumber than I thought. I haven’t heard that term used in years, but he happens to be right on that one. Judicial races in Broward are a no holes barred race to the finish line with all kinds of sleazy tactics being employed to gain advantage. These sleazoids play for keeps when big fat pensions and little work is involved. Maybe he should run for a third time employing all the “Coons” he can afford to grab the brass ring next time. We couldn’t do any worse by the looks of the judges here.

He could run again and his opponent gets arrested for raping a puppy and he would still blow it. Nothing like looking a gift horse in the mouth and crying about it a year later. No guts, no glory.

I was pulled over once. The policewoman asked for ID and I gave her my photo college ID. After the taser sting wore off, I realized it was a traffic stop since I was driving a car, and gave her my license and registration.

This is the best they could do?

Remember when Sean Conway drew a Bar complaint for publicly calling Judge Aleman an “evil, unfair witch”? McLawrence can look forward to the same Bar hammer for publicly referring to a judge as a ‘clown’ and a ‘joke for a judge’. Whether he was correct will be irrelevant. Any attorney who publicly scorns a sitting judge is begging for a smack down…particularly when they kick it up 10 notches by calling the black community a bunch of “greedy coons”. Maybe McLawrence should plan a little vacation during his up-coming 6 month suspension…somewhere where those “greedy coons” won’t disrupt him.

I doubt The Bar will pick this up. They know the Judge in question is toast, and the race issue is too hot to handle, given their role in Jim Crow. Easier to take a pass.

I don’t think they are going to remove
Imperato. She was well prepared, fell on the sword, apologized and will try to minimize the badge flash as nothing more than showing ID.

Yes, the refusal, trial, and appeal following guilty verdict after her similar failure to cooperate with the police on her prior Dui are exactly what In Re Sheehan stands for. Not a very sharp sword. And not a very emotional presentation judging from the video clip. At least her Pops and husband looked mortified to be there. Two out of three isn’t bad.

      1. 0

        0

This is a little different than Sheehan who took sobriety tests, cooperated and took a plea. Imperato fought this tooth and nail all the way and was surprised when she was convicted and now says that the Judge baiting deal that her defense crew tried to hoist upon the jury wasnt approved by her. Where was she sitting when they made opening argument and took that tack all through the trial? Seems like she approved it all along and didnt get away with it and then compounded it by getting a sweetheart deal with the JQC. Rosenthal not only tampered with evidence, blamed it her hubby, and refused to cooperate with law enforcement. Of the two, Imperious Imperato should go and Rosenthal should scrub toilets at the YMCA for a year.

In this case, we review the Findings and Recommendation of Discipline of the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) that recommends Judge Brenda Tracy Sheehan of the Circuit Court for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit receive the sanction of a public reprimand.

The JQC filed charges against Judge Sheehan, alleging that on the night of July 5, 2013, Judge Sheehan was observed driving erratically. Upon being stopped by law enforcement, Judge Sheehan was given field sobriety tests and was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail. Two Breathalyzer tests administered at the Hillsborough County Jail showed that Judge Sheehan had a breath-alcohol level of .171 and .161. Both scores were more than double Florida’s legal limit for breath-alcohol level of .08. See § 316.193(1)(c), Fla. Stat. (2011). On August 23, 2013, Judge Sheehan pleaded guilty to the charge of driving under the influence.

In January 2014, the JQC and Judge Sheehan entered into a stipulation and filed it with this Court. The stipulation outlined the same facts alleged in the JQC’s charges. The stipulation also noted that Judge Sheehan had never before been charged with driving under the influence and that the driving under the influence charge at issue in this case did not result in any personal injury or property damage. In the stipulation, Judge Sheehan accepted full responsibility for her wrongdoing. The stipulation also indicated that Judge Sheehan has taken steps to ensure that there will be no recurrence of such misconduct.

In Nelson, the JQC determined that Judge Nelson violated Canons 1 and 2A of the Code of Judicial Conduct by driving under the influence. 95 So. 3d at 122- 23. After the JQC and Judge Nelson entered into a stipulation, which noted that Judge Nelson’s driving under the influence arrest was an isolated incident and Judge Nelson had accepted full responsibility for her actions, this Court accepted the JQC’s recommendation of a public reprimand for Judge Nelson. Id. at 123, 126. Similarly, in Esquiroz, the Court accepted the JQC’s recommendation of a public reprimand after the JQC and Judge Esquiroz entered into a stipulation concerning Judge Esquiroz’s plea of nolo contendere to the charge of driving under the influence. 654 So. 2d at 558-59. The stipulation noted that Judge Esquiroz’s arrest for driving under the influence was an isolated incident and Judge Esquiroz apologized for her actions. Id. at 558.

Judge Sheehan’s conduct at issue in this case—driving under the influence of alcohol—is reprehensible. Judge Sheehan’s action of driving under the influence not only violated Florida’s criminal law but also endangered the public. Such disregard of criminal law and public safety undermines the public’s confidence in the integrity of the judiciary and will not be tolerated.

    This is not a joke.

This Judge could have killed someone. She has presided over cases were innocent people were killed because of drunk driving.

Judge Imperato knew her obligations as a jurist to cooperate with law enforcement. She did everything she could to stop the police from proving her criminal act. She had an obligation to set a proper example for the citizens and law enforcement community she serves. Her trial was a disgraceful attempt to discredit honest peace officers.

Judge Imperato has done this before. This is a second criminal act. She could have killed someone the first time as well. She obviously learned nothing.

Now Judge Imperato believes she should be allowed to remain on the bench. Judge Weinstein believes as well, despite having also presided over serious cases with drunk driving casualties. Judge Imperato forced him to appear by a subpoena and dragged the reputation of the 17th Circuit further into the morass of dangerous criminal activity that is forever her legacy as a former police officer and now jurist.

Judge Imperato compounded her situation by using her badge, the same as her sacred oath, to try and get out of trouble. She said her judgment was clouded by alcohol and said nitpicking and playing semantic games with the request for her identification was not an invitation to police comradery for a free crime. Judge Imperato has demonstrated her unfitness at every step and her late inning remorse is again indicative of an individual looking out for herself over the community she serves.

Judge Imperato , if she may be reading here, please resign for the sake of the 17th Circuit and the other Judges who toil in quiet dignity.

Frequent drunk drivers believe they are not a risk. They believe they can handle it, and not hurt anyone because they do it often and have been lucky, by the grace of Jesus. I am not saying this offender falls into that category but anyone with multiple convictions for intoxication while driving should be segregated from society and not put on a dais where hangover thinking can create additional problems. It is conformable to a double potential train wreck; an inevitable tragedy at night on the road, and a foggy mental catastrophe during the day. If the analysis determines the problem is one of odds until the next offense, it is time to find a lawyer without a criminal history to be the replacement.

Imperato sounds so self serving and bad I have no doubt the Florida Supream Court will see right through her BS. As far as flashing her badge, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a double drunk trying to save her pathetic job. Typical stuff from yet another dishonest Broward Judge. They start to all sound the same after you’ve had a chance to sample all the lies and dishonest responses from these people. It’s obvious to me or anyone else why she flashed her badge to the police officer. Her mistake was she was was in WPB. She should be removed from office at the earliest time. No more feeble excuses for another drunk Broward judge who could have killed someone and or herself on an interstate and probably would have had a fellow motorist had not called the police to let them know about her driving. We don’t need people such as Imperato on the bench. This is NOT THE FIRST DUI this woman has been charged with !!! She is a menace to herself and others. WHY ISNT M.A.D.D. ALL OVER THIS ONE?

I know this has nothing to do with the unfortunate circumstances concerning Judge Cynthia Imperato other than to say I used to like her. Now I have serious, serious doubts about her credibility and her quite obvious attempts to skirt her responsibility both to the legal community and the public at large. Her disdain for the office she represents leaves me shocked and dismayed. I only pray the Florida Supream Court in its wisdom removes her from the bench if only to serve to restore at least in part public confidence and the honor of decent hard working judges.

Every Chief Judge in the State of Florida should file an amicus brief with The Supreme Court of Florida asking for the removal of Imperato and Rosenthal. Their disgraceful acts have set The Florida Judiciary as a whole back in time to where all of America ignores the great qualities of a State with top flight universities and hospitals. The banana republic image perseveres because of the tolerance of Judges who forsake the ideals all others are bound by.

  14. 0

Anyone expecting anything but more protectionism is a fool. An attack on one of them is an attack on all of them. Ten percent of the whole made a living before the fatboy government handouts. They are like a pack of dogs when threatened with fatboy pensions to protect. The lawyers involved are all looking to sit atop TFB or other totems someday to make fatboy referrals and they go along to get along.

Look, its time to replace the opaque plastic water jugs in the courtrooms with glass ones. Maybe the risk of a prisoner grabbing a decanter and fashioning a weapon from a smashed jagged edge is real but the threat is outweighed by the damage a drunk Judge does to everyone. If the public can see the Judge isn’t pouring whiskey or beer from the jug during court everyone will be safer.

Government Cheesers know they can’t make 140 a year when a human being is signing the checks…….know respect is earned in the real world……know they have to work more than 5 hours a day in the competitive world….. know they have to properly mange their savings to provide for their future when on an even playing field…..this is why they sink so low when faced with the possibility of being cast out of the womb….the real world takes talent.

Making it through the JNC process equates to having earned respect? If they say someone is Honorable, based on their diligent backgrounding, is it not so? Hasn’t an esteemed body of political hacks and hucksters appointed by a porker who took the 5th over 70 times decreed that the Governor’s choice is deserving of everyone’s respect? Isn’t the JNC acting in everyone’s best interest? If they say a 30 year old twinkie is really fine wine, is it not so?

Definitely curious that the usual gang of heavyweight apologists didn’t materialize. Let’s see what Rosenthal can round up for her inquisition. She’s not as popular as Imperato, at least on the State side. Rosenthal could have killed someone too, and her actions with the JQC are beneath contempt. I wonder if the word is out to stay away from these two goofed up drivers because the decision has already been made to toss their judgeships out the window, like an empty can of Lone Star Beer from an F 150 pickup on a Texas back road at two o’clock in the morning?

There’s a very good reason Candidate Benson has taken down her Benson for Judge website if u had ever seen it. Not that her chances are improving because they’re not. Local Polls show a marked decrease in support continues as Alcalde pulls ahead. Leads for the website’s removal lead to Howie. What that means is pretty clear. It’s gonna take more than wearing a towel on her head to get the vote out there. Wouldn’t be surprised if she drops out pretty soon altogether.

There used to be local polls in judicial races, but not anymore because everytime a pollster got an honest citizen on the phone there would be five to ten minutes of laughter after the term “Broward Judge” was mentioned. Then they usually muttered an obscenity and hung up, so it was pretty much a pointless exercise.

Imperato casts an embarrassing pall on all Florida Judges. She should be ashamed of herself. Her attempt to save herself from what she deserves is indicative of the lengths Broward Judges will go to to save their BIG FAT PENSIONS and their jobs while other hard working judges cringe at the mention of her antics.
How many DUI’s does this pathetic excuse for a judge have to get before it is realized that she should have no place sitting in judgment of anyone from the bench.
I think this woman is a disgrace to the profession and should be summarily removed before she can cause any further damage to the reputation of Florida judges that take their responsibilities seriously and except responsibility for their own actions. In view of her attempts to discredit the testimony of the police officer that arrested her and all her other actions involved in the problems she’s created, she has proven herself in my opinion unfit to wear the robe of a judge in Florida or anywhere else.
The charade she’s perpetrated both in terms of the cost to other judges in Florida is unbelievable as well as to the JQC and the Supream Court. If she had any real respect for herself or the other judges of this circuit and the State of Florida she would resign immediately.

Got to hand it to Imperato. For a double fisted drinker there’s still a story or two left in the old girl. She can still at least attempt to spin the bottle like a teenager, but can’t seem to pin the tail on the donkey any better than that Zanny Queen Rosenthal. They are both pathetically self absorbed to the point of near commital ! Neither one of them belong on the bench anymore than burned out blond bimbos trying to turn trix at a mandatory rehab center. Retirement may be the only prospect they have left because nobody in their right mind is gonna fall for the nonsense they’re spewing.

A man of courage like Judge John Murphy needs to file against Imperato.

Judge Murphy ran against Joyce Julian when her problems made it obvious to everyone but Julian that she wasn’t fit to serve.

Broward lawyers are part of the problem if they’re not up to becoming part of the solution. Support a candidate to run against Imperato to signal all of Broward and beyond that people who play games with the police are not welcome or supported by the legal community.

Broward lawyers need to take the lead by Chief Justice Labarga and clean house. The Supreme Court can’t be expected to fix all of Broward’s problems alone.

In the battle of the former sex crimes public defender Betsy Benson versus former Sex Crimes Prosecutor Adriana Alcalde, Benson today scored a big victory by winning the support of Larry Davis, Esq, well know champion of pedophiles, who he himself said he understood why a grown man would jump a wall to get it on with an underage girl… http://redbroward.com/2015/09/21/davis-2/

  41. 0

How is Larry Davis not a prriah in the courthouse after speaking that way about those having sex with young girls? How does this guy remain on charity boards and involved in organizations that involve children. Sick fucker if you ask me. How come no one is outraged by these comments?

  42. 0

    0

Larry Davis should get the lifetime achievement award for kissing and licking every judge and politician’s ass in Broward County. He is everything that is wrong with the system. Cronyism at its best. Benson had little chance before… it won’t help her image now that she is in bed with that sleezebag Davis. The Fla Bar should prohibit him from representing children unless and until he demonstrates total rehabilitation.

Support for Benson for judge continues to plummet. Little experience combined with failing connections to the PD’s Office will assure she is defeated easily by Alcalde. The Davis connection is also very disturbing in that Davis doesn’t garner enough political juice to buy a single roll of used toilet paper. This will just about do I for Benson’s single digit start which only came from the Dolphin Demo Club and which has now dwindled to nothing.

You have left a trail of people who know your game. Pity. You are going to forever stuck in that place, let’s see what did you call it again, oh yeah, the “hellhole.” You reap what you sow.

Thats all Miller has raised with Finkelstein’s help? LOL. So much for the political machine that was never Finkelstein! He’s more a political liability than a political force to be managed!

MILLER CRAPS OUT ON DIPETRO FINKELSTEIN’S NEMESIS. NO MATTER WHAT RACE HE SLIMES INTO HIS WIFE’S BAGGAGE AINT GONNA DO HIM NO GOOD NO MATTER HOW BAD HE WANTS TO ESCAPE THE PD OFFICE.

The No. 1 slime ball is Nina Di Pietro’s husband and his boy-toy Lamarca- groomed by Scott. Google Broward Health $80 MILLION Medicare fraud. She deserves nothing. Pay Attention. Loser.

Made his 32 year old wife a Judge. Stared down Finkelstien and Miller into submission. Yeah that guy is a real loser.

David DiPietro did NOT make his wife a judge. His croonie Rick Scott made her a judge by appointing her. Prior to that Rick Scott appointed her to the Medical Board. These appointments are considered political “favors” and seemingly protects and builds a wall around corruption perceived or not. Do your homework.

Howard F is a weak pathetic little fat man. He likes to show his “power” by putting losers like Miller against Judge DiPietro, raises $105 (about $12,000 less than little fat man can raise) then pulls him out and puts him in another race temporarily, until he pulls another last minute bs move again. Little fat man has a big mental problem. Funny, cause no one likes him. Kinda reminds everyone of another pathetic little man lying disloyal psychopath that no one liked, that did shit like this.. Little Lee Jay…two pathetic peas in a pod. Time for little fat man Finkelstein to go join Lee Jay in the penalty box.

The Fink is no longer relevant. He has nothing original to say and his only purpose is to be an obstructionist and disrupt the system. He has no integrity and stands for nothing of value. He is only interested in self-aggrandizement and increasing his own power base. He surrounds himself with seasoned ass-kissers like Frank, Cathy, Diane, Susan, Renee, Bob, and Steve. He is a sad and pathetic little man who does not realize that he is obsolete.

The difference between NIna DiPietro and all those at the PD office that were/are critical of her?

Nina is called Judge and the PD’s are called Lifers.

Well to be fair most of them spent their time trying cases and becoming good criminal trial lawyers. Money wasn’t the driver of the bus or ambition. They like being lawyers. Those that wanted money learned the basic skill set and went out after a few years. Some of them are driving 911’s now, and some others probably wish they had stayed. Others, possibly like Judge Di Pietro, learned the basic skill set and then went out to make the contacts and political connections like the hospital boards she sat on to ultimately become a Judge. It isn’t always money or a desire to be a trial lawyer that drives everyone. Some like being a Judge. That’s all.

DiPietro likes being DiPietro. She has no business on the Bench. She lacks empathy and basic legal skills. She left the PD’s office and sought out influence and money. Being a lawyer has nothing to do with it.

Miller wanting to jump ship like the rest in the PDs office. Benson looking to jump ship too. The both have nada to offer and therefore will lose their bid for judge. Politics being what it is in Broward they don’t stand a chance. This is not Skolnics first race so she has made her connections. Benson has less a chance because she’s up against a superior candidate from the SA with massive support that simply isn’t there from the PD and never was. Finkelstein couldn’t get anybody elected besides himself and isn’t going to do anything to try to help anybody besides himself anyway. It’s a bad joke with the gag line tearing up both Benson and Millers chances. Lol. They must be braindead to think their going anywhere but staying where they are. Their lack of experience is hurting both of them and their chances gettin smaller every day.

      Dear Moron

It is Judge Peter Skolnik, so he is a he and he is termed out.

If you want to know more about Judge Skolnik, ask APD Debbie Steinstaltz, she ran and got crushed by him.

Dale Miller for Broward County Judge

The remarks that have been said about Dale Miller on this page is disgusting and wrong on his character and what he stands for.

A Judge must strive for the highest standards of integrity in both their professional and personal lives. They should be knowledgeable about the law, willing to undertake in-depth legal research, and able to write decisions that are clear and cogent. Their judgment should be sound and they should be able to make informed decisions that will stand up to close scrutiny. Judges should be fair and open-minded, and should appear to be fair and open-minded. They should be good listeners but should be able, when required, to ask questions that get to the heart of the issue before the court.

A Judge comes to the bench after making a significant contribution to the legal profession and their communities. Many have been active in law societies and have done volunteer and charitable work. Others have been active in politics or have been picked and put into office by Governor Rick Scott.

Dale Miller will make an awesome Judge for the people of Broward County!!!
