ISHOY SPEAKS

The Broward State Attorney’s Office terminated the employment last week of long-time support staff secretary Ginger Downs.  Downs, secretary in the Drug Trafficking Unit, had been under joint investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the State Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed; FDLE is continuing its investigation. ”

He hates Gallagher. Despises him. Yet he continues to let him play god with people’s lives. He has no clue the way drug cases are handled in other counties. Gallagher is a sick person. He makes Mike look bad and it does not surprise me that this unit is the center of a big scandal. Time for an early retirement.

Why can’t they just tell the truth ? Why is it that this little rotten game of hide and seek and us against them always holds sway among these so called professionals who are all tapping the public trough ? Broward is a morass of crooked cronies all pretending to be sanctimonious while looking over their respective shoulders for the next opportunity to distinguish themselves as something they’re not.
The Truth Shall Set You Free but these people are so twisted in their race to sway public opinion they have forgotten what The Truth is if they ever practiced it at all.
Ishoy is but a pawn in the greasy pulp that belies a much larger problem, more to be scorned than pitied for his attempts to subvert what is obvious to anyone paying attention.

Curious why FDLE is investigating rather than BSO. Maybe just they are a State Agency or locals may also be involved?

2 or 3 years ago it was discovered that drugs, weed or both was missing from the evidence room.
    Was that ever solved?
    Does this have a connection?

The truth is no one respects any of the self-serving-stakeholders or the drunk protecting Chief. Its lawless mayhem. They all need to retire so order can be restored.

Governmental Agencies have learned to delay, stall and do their own internal investigations and then say there was no problem. They may sacrifice an employee, throwing them to the lions to make everyone believe it was solved. They will never admit they made a mistake. Ever hear a politician say they made a mistake. It is myth of institutional infallibility that must be maintained.

Why don’t people just respect Ginger’s privacy and stop chomping at the bit as to what’s going on and the gossip. If the tables were turned, she would most definitely do the same for you.

I smell a big fat rat of a story here that will never be followed up on by any of the proper authorities…

It was investigated. The audit found there were problems with the crime lab. 2-3 lab bosses retired early. Kelli McDonald the culprit went on “leave” indefinitely due to “medical reasons” which the SAO never identified. She did show for some depositions but then moved and couldn’t be served for depositions when she was on leave. It’s the SAO games and misconduct that has been going on for years. In fact the missing drugs and problems with the drug lab wasn’t disclosed in the SATZ “IT’S NOT BRADY” IF NO ONE WENT TO PRISON FOR IT office for months. Then when it was uncovered and had to be disclosed it was DTU played games for another year while the crime lab audit went on, not wanting to answer questions regarding the missing drugs or crime lab practices. They played the same circle the wagons game they’ve played in Broward for years.
Roughly 40 years or so it seems. This little DTU “scandal” will be more of the same. Swept right under the rug.

Part of the problem is that the SAO GETS A PASS and has been for 40 years. Unlike in cities where the local media, and reporters investigate corrupt police and then rake the state and police over the coals. It’s been a loooooong time since there’s been any good investigation by the papers or journalists here in Broward. The Dipietro & governor story and writing was some good reporting. But read the reporting in the city of Chicago. Good journalism helped bring out the facts and VIDEO In the Laquan McDonald shooting. McDonald was the 17-year-old Chicago boy who was shot 16 times as he walked away from officers with a 3-inch knife. Can you imagine the sun sentinel investigating the local police, BSO, DTU, Brady violations (and the fact that the state fails to actually provide Brady notices) at the SAO. Or doing any investigative reporting? On ANY topic related to what’s going on and being reported widely throughout this country? How about all the police shootings throughout the years? No police were ever charged under Satz.
No. Police. Were EVER. CHARGED. None. All justified. Until last year. But the media circles the wagons.

Can you imagine them SS fighting to get a VIDEO RELEASED. OR any local journalist. Save one or 2.
No– because they never actually do any investigative writing.
Note to those that don’t look outside of broward– the reporting and investigation in Chicago by a “journalist” was the beginning of the end for the local state attorney. The citizens elected a NEW STATE ATTORNEY. See #Byeanita

The entire DTU should be investigated. Starting with Gallagher! There was one piece of good reporting by the sun sentinel a couple of years back. Cash, Cops, Cocaine. They wrote about the sunrise police dept. narcotics unit selling drugs…essentially luring out of towners to places like the mall and Barnes and noble. Sunrise police paid informants and was entrapping, fabricating, creating cases where none existed. The sunrise narcotics cops (the lt, and sgt) were make $250,000 a year alone in overtime. 1 informant made in a year what 4 judges make. That story was about 3 years ago. The story made national news. Before that it had been more than 15 years before they broke a good story. So I guess they get it right every 15-20 years.

Boy, all that needs to happen is the last-standing, hard-working and long-suffering PDs advise their clients to file speedies and this PD problem will become catastrophic for the whole building just like the incompetent court reporters almost brought the building to a halt by being ordered out of court by the DCA.

In Dade the PD supervisors are required to sit in court during calendar. They are obnoxious because they won’t shut up when the judge is running calendar but they are required to be there. Why not use Dade as a business model?

Here the PD supervisors have no cases and do nothing. That’s if they even come to work. Most of their offices remain dark and they’re not sitting in court. What would they know about what we do anyway; they haven’t tried a case in 20 years. When was the last time the Fink even walked into a courtroom besides to show up for the Brannon thing? Too busy playing Help Howard play pretend.

What, no Scum Sentinel Coverage? Not the least surprised. Political backslappers and co-conspirators. It really is deplorable the lack of good reporting.

Seriously, do you even read the paper or go on the website? It was up since yesterday afternoon. Just search her name.

So I guess this whole thread confirms that the only people who comment on this blog are court house employees. No one is saying what’s going on and yet everyone seems to know what’s going on. The rest of us passive observers have zero clue who the fuck ginger is and why her firing means anything.
But hey, thanks for planting the seed for gossip without providing the juice. I think that’s almost worse than just saying what happened. The difference between reporting facts and preying on the salacious appetites of bored jerks.

not new information. She was removed from the office last week. FDLE investigating for some time. We don’t need a hometown paper that reports what is already known and yesterdays news. Or last weeks news. How about the Sun Sentinel doing some investigative reporting? Say like a 3-4 month actual investigation. Then write the story. With New News. Perhaps on corruption. The culture of win at all costs at the SAO? Even if that means rubber stamping false arrests, false confessions, withholding evidence?

I would be surprised if Duffy even got 10% of the vote. But she’ll take mainly from Rifkin and help Destry win.

JUST HOW MANY HAVE QUIT AT THE PD BECAUSE OF THE DISPARITY OF CASES BEING ASSIGNED? WORD IS MORE ARE ON THEIR WAY OUT THE DOOR WHILE SUPERVISORS CARRY NO CASES AT ALL.

You really want supervisors to take cases? Don’t you have to know case law in order to be involved in a hearing or trial? Frank, Steve, Gordon, Renee, Cathy, Bob? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Either Joe looks pretty bad for a guy in his early 40s, or it is different guy. How about looking at the date of birth

Ha, how pathetic – David “Taurus man” Dipietro resigns before the ruling could be overturned.

Even sillier is watching Brian “can i carry your briefcase eric” Silber acting as though this was some kind of vindication of his paranoid client.

Hey guys: you had a local judge play politics and rule your way, then Silber and DiTaurus-o put their tails between their legs and bailed before they got it handed to them.
      Losers.
