1.) JNC Controversy Brewing – last Wednesday’s JNC interviews resulted in six names being forwarded to the Governor for consideration to replace Eric Beller.  Despite many qualified black applicants, none were included on the short list, which means Broward will remain with six African-American judges, out of ninety total.

Compounding the concern is Mary Robinson’s rumored retirement.  Although her office failed to return a call confirming whether the long-time county judge is indeed calling it quits this year, the rumor mill is in full gear, with many lawyers already jockeying for position in case the seat opens up.  It’s not unrealistic to imagine the number of black judges slipping to five, given the nature of Broward politics.

Is the JNC process another relic that can’t slip the shackles of institutional racism?  Or is partisan politics the culprit, given the fact many qualified African-American lawyers have a “D” somewhere in their past, like Kal Evans, the only black judge appointed in Broward thus far by Republican Rick Scott.

It’s true the appointment process seems to have gotten more partisan since the rule change went into effect giving chief executives more control over choosing JNC members.  It’s also true the current governor has passed over many fine attorneys, and a judge or two, who weren’t solid “R”.  And while current JNC member Bill McCormick, seated in the first position on the left in the picture above, is brazen enough to wear Republican Elephant Cuff Links to a supposedly non-partisan interview selection process, it’s also a cold, hard fact that blacks weren’t any better represented on the bench under decades of Democrat controlled JNCs and governors.

We’ve got calls in to the current JNC members, asking to discuss all of the issues described above.  Hopefully some or all of them will call back.  It’s a matter of great public importance,* particularly with Cindy Imperato’s circuit seat currently in the application phase …

I’ve been writing the hack BUDDllY NEVINS for two days n
ow and he refuses to print my posts! They’ve ranged from asking for apologies for unfair articles and untruths about me which are unimportant, to today’s lleter to the editor from The housing for the mental long challenged which is hugely important any as every article about patty DUKE says and he let his posters make fun of my BI POLAR dis order! And he won’t post my incredible knowledge gain long long before all you knuckleheads now discovering what I discovered in 1990 about the NBHD SS we called it back then when I went
T WRITER a very lonely 54 million defined pension plan that was returning 4% a YR BUT ACTUARILY needed to return 9% yrly and was thus 20% underfunded! And the board was so stupid, so scared to take any proper fiduciary responsibility it was going to stay that way until I kept at it as only I as can and would! And when I g finally got their attention it got back to me I LEARNED as I was very naive about” POLITICAL JUICE” and I had none!! And the BUSINES was going to go to CTY COMISSIONER JOHN HART OF CORAL SPRINGS of Merrill Lynch! Bul shit I said and up to the GOV mansion I went! And to BIMINI boatyardu I took dick STULL! And to a couple of boatrd mcomisioners when it came APPARENT this kid with no JUICE was getting the business wanted ten grand I told them if they ” stuck their hands in my pocket again I’d break them”!!! I assembled a team of professional money MANAGERS with Bill SCHERER patti mahaney, Peter Chretien,Ed benett, emett mctigue and several more fine people and we took 54 million dollars and turned into 254 million dollars by 2000 which was a n compound annual return of 22.55% which beat the S&P by 1.5% which was basically unbeatable during that time and put us in the top 3 percentile of all SIMILARLY MANAGED FUNDS! Why lil buddy NEVINS does not want to investigate these facts and report them just substantiate the reports from his former associates he was just a hack and a jerk and dead weight! Mark R. Hogg’s entire platform seems to be about increasing farm subsidies and advocacy for spending federal money on expensive, wasteful projects within his own district. I’ll stick with Pigman. He’s proven himself more man than pig.

Hogg and Pigman, where do they stand on fetal pig dissection? An all out ban, or first trimester ok if for an AP class? With the direction of SCOTUS hanging in the balance due to the recent passing of Scalia, these are important questions.

Another concern, will the centaurs currently serving in the Senate be able to get along with Pigman if he makes it to DC?

Pigman made a lot of promises during his last campaign, and the Werewolves are no better off than they were two years ago.

          I’m with Hogg.

At last a PD that stands for something other than getting reelected and hoping he doesn’t run out of hot air in the process. Wish the PD stood for something here. Alas, that’s not the case.

Bailiff Kendrick Busby back in court Monday for a bond hearing in Miami. Palm Beach County state attorney’s office now has the case. He has a Broward lawyer, Elias Hilal. Lots of commuting for everybody on this one.

Have u ever heard a more ridiculous story in your life ? This punk should have been a crime novelist as opposed to an attorney ! Reminds me of Rosenthal’s revelation about hubby erasing her cell phone video ! Do any of these opportunists have any shame at all ?

I call b.s. on the whole thing – Gov. did the right thing. This guy needs a psych eval.

“I know that Ford Taurus must be out there – and why are all of these cars traveling in the same direction as me during rush hour they must be following me!!” (extreme paranoia)

“Uh, yeah there was a tracking device on my car. Did I say anything about it, uh no I just laid it down in the garage – something as odd and important as a tracking device? Yep, didn’t do anything but lay it in the garage. Oh, where is it, you ask? Uh, somebody stole it. How? Uh, they broke into my house – probably a Taurus driver. Uh, no I didn’t make a police report or call any law enforcmt”

Probably having a breakdown. Good thing the Gov. removed him when he did.

Just not sure why David’s making all this up? The first impression to most who see right through the silly story is that maybe he thinks this will garner some sympathetic support for him – as though he is a target of a grand conspiracy of beaurocrats.
The sad fact is that he might actually just be in need of help.

Can’t stop laughing about this one. Just how gullible does he think everyone is ? Paranoia is sometimes perfect awareness, but in this particular case I think it’s just a desperate attempt to get attention after he’s been “Unceremoniously” tossed to the curb by the governor. It certainly seems like a ploy that reeks of an over active imagination, not to mention the possibility of downright fabrication. And this dude is married to a newly minted Broward County judge ? Are all these people on drugs or what ?

The rendition he’s giving sounds highly implausible. Sour grapes from a punk that just got it handed to him. But I’ll keep an eye out over my shoulder for a Ford Taurus on my way home ! Lol

Calling Lit’l Red ! You are desperately needed back. This baby needs an A-1 psyche check starting with a tongue swab. Now he’s seeing a Ford Taurus everywhere he goes. Next it will be the dryer for him. Time to worry. Use it or lose it, this political pimp needs your special care . Look for the Bat Light in the clouds tonight marking the spot. We know where he’s not, and that’s sitting on the North Broward Hospital District anymore .

Why hasnt jaablaw posted on the new Southern District Federal libel slander lawsuit against Conrad & Scherer? Or the Drummond case against Conrad & Scherer in Alabama with a 50+ page order by a federal judge finding that they paid off witnesses? Is scherer really that powerful that he keeps the media locked up?

Neither Rifkin or Greenbald could win against Destry if their name was Abby Greenbald. I’ll report back after I attend the fund raiser on Las Olas for judge Destry. It promises to be a real raise the roof party with celebrity appearances followed by a horn blowing party parading up 6th Street at midnight. The cost? Only $25. But that’s $25 more than the competition will raise without the party!

It’s going to take more than a ratty pair of jeans and a lot of hot air to beat Destry. She should stay in Miami where she belongs.

Hahahahaha–I just wanna know why these news outlets are giving him so much publicity on this. At first he was playing it somewhat cool–trying to act like he was let go because he was trying to overhaul the shady BH practices. I guess he figured he’d white wash his rep in the papers and Scott would reappoint him. Since that didn’t work, he’s going so far as a conspiracy theory. I get followed to work every day…that what happens when you work in a large downtown building. Everybody is going to the same damn place David. And the tracking device…he’s watched too many movies. Who uses tracking devices anymore?? He has a cell phone doesn’t he? Would be easier to track him that way.
Sounds like he’s been on a bender and this actually sounded like a plausible story to tell. He lost his grip man. Hope Nina keeps that job–they’re both gonna need it for a while.

And what’s really silly is this: so David why would “they” have to follow you with a Ford Taurus if there was already a tracking device supposedly attached ??!

Reminds me of conversations I’ve had with incompetent clients

Hahaha good point! The bender fucked with his judgment AND his logic…holes. So many holes.
He was so concerned about the Taurus that he consulted the law enforcement buddy…but then when what his buddy suggested proved fruitful, he didn’t go back to the buddy letting him know suspicions were confirmed, let’s do something about this!? In what universe do you not immediately snap a pic of it and send to your cop friend? And if you’re gonna tell this story to the media, how on earth do you not immediately take a pic of it, period.
This person who broke in using the hidden key stole only the device? Nothing else was moved or taken? I imagine someone who is going to the trouble of tailing you, wouldn’t mind getting their hands on some Intel–you know…bills, lap top, the shit you hide in the drawers, closet, file cabinet, safe….come on David. The most valuable thing the guy they’re following has is a tracking device??
        He’s lost his mind.
I smell a divorce looming. Nina is going to distance herself…

I don’t know how anybody will ever be able to take him seriously again after this?

Even more holes: I mean the guy pretends this tracking device was stolen from his garage – to sort of imply “these sneaky Taurus drivers must have realized I found their tracking device – so they broke in to steal it”….uh, David, here comes another hole in this fantastic story of yours: these Ford fiends and their old school “tracker” would’ve shown it to be exactly where you drove with it on there (your home/garage). So there would be no reason for these drivers of mid-sized sedans to know their 90’s tech device had been discovered?

    1. 0

      0

Oh I see what you’re saying. Haha took me a minute–you’re saying it’s totally normal behavior for a vehicle to come to rest in a garage. How would they know it was discovered right?
Right–I guess there’s hidden cameras in his garage too. Lol so crazy.
If you’re him, are you totally regretting the asinine story or are you thinking you succeeded?
Scott can now say he has mental health concerns and won’t reappoint him for that reason.

only in broward could a court deputy be assigned as the deputy for the day in a courtroom where his brother is in court in custody as a defendant on a murder charge. 6780 on 4/11/16. broward is so screwed up.
