What in Godz name do we need more judges for? Most don’t work a full day, let alone a full week.

The ones that do work the staff raggid, work through lunch, tell jurors they’ll go till 9 at night to get it finished.

When is the asylum going to get a proper Warden?

Rebollo and Fry can teach a thing or 2 to the lazy judiciary who give a crap about due process. You enter their Courtroom and are treated with professionalism and civility. I’m sick of lazy judges working 25 hours a week, with their shitty dispositions. They act as if they are doing us a favor by being on the bench.

I know many Judges who deserve our admiration. The below listed judges are perfectly suited for the bench.

Singhal, Schulman, Fry, Porter, Rebollo, Ari, McHugh, Bober, Horowitz, Contini, Miranda, and Bailey.

I would add Merrigan, Murphy (both of them), Towbin-Singer, Tim Bailey, Bill Haury, Marc Gold, Tom Lynch and some others.

    I would however delete Contini.

If you are referring to the former prosecutor who happens to appear to have “African American skin tone” from Miami… I can assure you that he is not a black fellow at all, rather an enemy of black people…and pro prison, his job was to send people to prison, he is in my opinion not qualified, he lacks the judicial wisdom or temperament, is not neutral, he’s be another prosecutor and ruthless bias one… I’m a black person and I can assure that he’s not a black fellow

I am in front of Judge Fry on a daily basis. I can tell you with certainty that he is an outstanding jurist. He works harder and smarter than any judge on the bench. If anyone deserves a promotion it is him. We would hate to see him go.

I agree with Judge Hurley’s admonishment of APD Dale Miller. Just because Miller is running for judge himself, he doesn’t have to grandstand and show disrespect for the judge.
Finkelstein, Dale Miller’s boss has had a running feud with Judge Hurley for a long time because he couldn’t get him removed as first appearance judge after an earlier APD behaved unprofessionally as well.
Finkelstein as PD doesn’t call the shots as to what judge sit where and doesn’t have any input In that regard, nor should he. That kind of stuff he can save for his pontifications on the Help Me Howard Show on Channel 7. Who really needs the help one might ask ?
Miller isn’t winning any browny points either way by way of his unprofessionalism and choice of words.
If he can’t conduct himself professionally in court representing a client, what kind of judge do you think he’d make ?

Destry does not see people, he sees “bodies”, he tells everyone that appears before him that he’s sending them to prison before he even hears a defense or the facts of the case. I do not agree with him telling everyone that he’s sending them to prison, as the sentencer prior to hearing someone’s case…. he’s just being a prosecutor and not a neutral judge. He seems to have become totally desensitized to people. This is a real outrage and should scare everyone. He sentences people of color harsher and if he doesn’t like someone. How can a judge have such a poor disposition and tell everyone, “I’m going to send you to prison”… prior to hearing the facts…stop telling people that.. and listen to their case.!!!!.. perhaps the police lie.. perhaps they got it wrong…perhaps the detective wants to go home early, and hold people handcuffed to tables and floors with lights inter eyes in a 60 degree room refusing to give them water, a phone call or use the bathroom. perhaps the client has been hog tied???the problem is he does just that, he rubber stamps what the state says and the prosecutors have no heart, they act like smoking marijuana is an act that should get the electric chair….!!!!.. if you’ve already made up your mind, Judge Destry… prior to hearing anyone’s case and are just rubber stamping what the police and state says then you’re not being fair and you need to step down and recuse yourself. Stop telling human beings that you’re sending them to prison without hearing any facts of the case,!!! if find this completely outrageous.. just because someone is charged with a crime does not mean that they deserve 60 years or the max in prison, there is a problem with abuse of people in prison. It hurts to see black people over A nd over in the courtrooms in record numbers… like slaves, He comes across extremely cavalier in HIS TONE, telling a human beings, “oh by the way I’m sending you to prison” like he’s eating tic tacks, like its nothing.. I don’t understand why he has no compassion and does this, stop!!!! I’ve heard people call him Destry the destroyer, chainsaw Destry and a hanging judge… we need someone in our community to run for judge that does not agree in teaching people lessons for the hell of it…that doles out sentences without any care…

Just another soapbox for Little Howie to toot his horn from. Just another one liner to gripe about how blacks disproportionately get the shaft because he thinks it will sell. Just another judge he’s griped about from the beginning like Judge Hurley. Only now the squeal is about Destry. Makes you want to laugh it’s so predictable. When he’s finished with his self promotion antics, it’ll fall flat like everything else does. On deaf ears.

sad you are… anyone sitting in Destry’s chambers see that he sees people as bodies… anyone with eyes see’s the disproportionate number of black people in criminal court… if you are a lawyer.. then you are part of the problem.. and why this country has has laws that say its legal to slaughter and commit genocide against Native Americans, legal to own slaves.. legal to shoot unarmed people and legal to have minimum mandatory, private prisons that require a certain number of people to be warehouse there and work for a dollar… receive treatment like modern day chattel slavery… you don’t sound like you’re a real lawyer, not a champion of people but another do nothing old good ol boys, “let’s lock this niggers away” person

He seems like a rather sad figure sort of simply observing him in places when not he’s not robing it. Odd transformation when it’s on to be sure. He needs an opponent. He’s vulnerable imho.

Judge Contini’s concise response to the JQC was mentioned in the Sentinel this morning & can be found by googling JQC to the FL Supreme Court link. Glad to see he admits his missteps & sort of avers he has learned from what transpired & in hindsight would do things differently, because this is exactly the kind of contrition the powers that be look for in, perhaps (we hope), showing mercy. Unlike the others who evaded, fought, thought they were above reproach & didn’t learn from prior cases. Pretty dumb, but egos & robes are strong, sometimes to a fault. Hope it works out for you John, we need you on the bench.
