JAIL VISITS/SECURUS

BSO General Counsel Terrence Lynch reports in-person attorney jail visits will resume on Monday, June 7th, at 6:45 AM.

Securus will still be available for attorneys wishing to see clients remotely both now and in the future. One of the few good things to come out of the pandemic is the addition of the secure video visitation platform, but it won’t be free after the coupons on hand run out in a few weeks.

The Zoom carts the PDO was primarily relying on for visitations will be phased out as of June 14th.

WELL DONE!

Can’t trust the evil empire of Securus with confidential communications. But PDs office should let their lawyers use it if they just have a quick message for a client. The lawyers should have the discretion to be able to decide if a conversation will be a true privileged communication versus “hey, your case was reset….”

The Clients would like nothing better than to see their lawyers the day before court on video if a jail visit cannot be sustained. It’s no replacement for a face to face, but in conjunction with face to face, its a game changer. Who wouldn’t rather see their lawyer 7-8 times rather than once in a blue moon?

      Hello Team,
One of my priorities as State Attorney has been to do everything possible to ensure that the dedicated public servants in this office are compensated fairly. One large part of that is to make the structure as objective and transparent as possible. My senior staff have been working on a pay and raise structure that does that, and we are instituting this new system effective July 1. Please be advised that this new compensation structure is independent of the merit raise system we are also working on.
We are holding a town hall at 1pm on Monday, June 7th to go over everything and answer any questions that people have. I ask that everyone hold their questions until that town hall as I suspect most of them will be answered then. Right after the town hall, we will send a follow up email that summarizes the changes being implemented. There are increases for both support staff and ASAs.
These changes mean that a lot of people will be getting raises. We did everything possible to do the most for the greatest number of people. The biggest constraint with something like this is our budget. Unfortunately, we did not get any additional funds allocated from the legislature this year for general salaries.
Lastly, I wanted to comment on the raises we implemented in May. Each raise in May was given to people who were either: (1) promoted on or after January 2021, (2) assigned significantly increased responsibilities by me, or (3) agreed to start with a lower salary than we agreed upon with the understanding that they would be made whole when the budget allowed for it. Each person took one for the team for up to four months until we knew what the legislature was doing with our budget.
I look forward to seeing and interacting with you on Monday!

        Sean Phillipi is…

He may not know a Motion from an Order but he makes triple that of most line ASA’S.

        11k a month…

Hope all your raises are as lucrative but I doubt it.

Securus should only be for the attorney or record. The bottom feeders are using it schmooze business.

PDs. Your case counts are going up. You can no longer zoom with clients. And no mention of raises.

Check out those that contributed to and or worked on Pryor’s campaign and it becomes quite clear who fits in for the raises and promotions. Same in the PD where that idiot Ella is Week’s top paid goofball.
Nothing has changed but for how corrupt the entire process is and those that seek public office and their cronies.

Hi guys, it’s like Marla here. When I do jail visits all the perps cat call at me while I do my sexy walk down the west wing. My fake Hermès bag is always on display. Big daddy Eric bought that for me with Mila’s Amex.
