I want everyone to learn the Booger Boy song…..
      And it goes like this……

      My name is gussy
      And I’m not fussy
      Everyone knows
      I pick my nose

I wipe it on my tie
      It makes me look fly
I wipe it on my vest
      I like it there best

      Boogers are sweet
I wipe them on my seat
      I am such a fan
I wipe them where I can

      I say once again
      My name is gussy
      I love my boogers
      And I ain’t fussy …

Truly pathetic really. State has resorted to making raps and pictures of Gus? Broward SAO always was trash but this just confirms it. But since they can’t beat us in the courtroom guess this is the best they can do lol!

Raag has wanted to get out of Broward as soon as he possibly could. Who wouldn’t with the “ Name Game” playing out in Judicial Campaigns in full swing in this slop pit.
I’m glad he’s gotten out before some opportunist popped him out. He’s brown nosed every political greaser who sits on the bench in Broward to do it, so it’s finally paid off. Regardless of the endless brown nosing, he makes a better judge than most of the losers who sit as judges here in Broward. Congratulations Raag for being able to exit the Clownhouse with your integrity intact !

Broward Judiciary is typically a dead end job for bureaucrats or low paid lawyers looking for a steady paycheck. Good for Judge Singhal! He distinguished himself in private practice and on the bench. Because of his dedication to the law and a strong work ethic he has a career to be proud of.

Merrigan is alright. He’ll get opposition as soon as he’s up by some starving beadhead having trouble paying his rent. I wouldn’t call him a hero though.

  3. 4

    1

Judge McCarthy already got bounced from there. I hear CJ Tuter wasn’t happy with her.
Why wouldn’t he honor Judge Merrigan’s service with a promotion to Civil if Judge Merrigan is interested? The politics around the Court is probably a factor.

Towbin is in a retirement division with no homework for years and years and she gets to go to Civil?

No way if it was up to me.

Gustavo Martinez is one of the most respected and talented attorneys at our office (public defender’s office). He’s known for working extremely hard deep into the night, caring for his clients, and providing excellent representation. He’s been with our office for several years and he has never lost a jury trial. He obtains great results for his clients, and always does everything he can to ensure that justice is equally available to all. He’s also a very kind and positive person.

Anybody who fights for justice as hard as he does is bound to be disliked by the other side. It’s obvious that perhaps some prosecutor with time on his or her hands decided to dig up an old video from a couple months ago and make some still shots and poems. That’s fine. Anybody without integrity can be a keyboard warrior and anonymously trash another human being. But it doesn’t diminish the fact that Mr. Martinez continues to be an excellent attorney who not only wins for his clients, but also strives with passion to help others.

    1. 15

      6

It was not some prosecutor that dug up some old video, it was us and we have apologized for being so reckless.

To reiterate what we said on another thread, the date is accurate, recent. Someone made a comment about it on our YouTube channel and we recklessly posted it here without thinking about the maturity level of some here, and yes, that includes us in this case.

Again Mr. Martinez we apologize and are very sorry for the grief you are getting over this nonsense.

Never lost a jury trial? Not only is that awesome, but extremely rare as everyone knows. Keep it up man.

The SFC channel might have posted the daily bond court video that they always put but the pics are definitely some immature prosecutor at the state. They dont like that PD. I seen him in action in multiple courtrooms. Good lawyer makes the state do a ton of work

            We welcome you to try.
Heard you don’t like to go in public much these days.
            You got off lite considering.
You no longer hold public office, and never will in the future so our job is finished.

Unless you or any other disgraced former Broward judge decides to try to hold public office again, in that case, game on!

To clarify what we mean by “Game On”, that was not a threat to do anything illegal.

Petty and unprofessional. His record is good, yet, he hasn’t been a lawyer for several years. He’s been a Florida lawyer exactly 4 years and 1 week.

Who here hasn’t looked to see what gold he has dug from the nasal cavity or peeped in the bowl with relief to assess the size of a jettisoned brown bomb? Is it not human nature? Is it not psychologically and physically satisfying to see with one’s own eyes that the body is now free of large and cumbersome objects that have previously weighed it down? Show me someone who says he doesn’t look, and I will show you a liar. This man is by all accounts a fine attorney and the most human of humans. Applaud him for the dedication to not call a court recess for attending to his personal needs which would have delayed the release of many and cost more in salaries for staff. Well done and huzzah for the selfless act and cameras be damned as a testament to his courage.

Gus Martinez is definitely one of the most respected attorneys in the courthouse. Everybody thinks very highly of him, including his fellow public defenders, rcc and even the private bar. No amount of slander by the state on this blog can change that.

Hi. My lawyer got debaalmed and I need a new lawyer.

I am charged with Armed Burglary and some other stuff. Only two people got killed. They were like 80 yrs old but I haven’t seen any Discovery but that’s what I heard on the news.

I paid him $365.00 and was supposed to get probation but it’s like 5 years later and he said the State still hasn’t made an offer.

Will anyone reading here take my case? I have $250.

  17. 8

You won’t need a lawyer to get probation if Williams gets elected.
I heard that once the funding comes in for our stake-holders,
she’s putting to together a P.R.O.M.I.S.E “Program” for adult felons having a difficult time adjusting to civilized environments.

She’ll need funding to continue our race to the bottom.
But will will be worth it.

You gotta admit, there’s been a lot of garbage coughed up out of that bunch. Actually more like a landfill of garbage judges who let it all go their small heads, many of them the worst judges in the state who couldn’t make it as attorneys so decided to climb the latter of government schleps.
How many of those got tossed later by the JQC or resigned in disgrace?

        1. 2

          0

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA 1. were the cases tossed too damaging to too many to prosecute, exposed too many others for complicity or simply a coverup for very serious criminal conduct? 2. How many of these were cases multiple timers who finally got charged and given a way out to save too many others’ faces 3. The S. Ct has the authority to bring back any judge out of retirement or (hopefully) resignation so that they can then be properly prosecuted and thrown off the bench to lose retirement benies they should have forfeited?

Tuter should be proud. He was Weinstein’s right hand or the big Chief for most of the soap opera. The legacy for him and Satzie should be an empty plastic soda bottle filled with sand sunk to the bottom of a burst open Fort Lauderdale sewer line dumping crud on the streets.

To all interested in judicial advancement (check-list of qualities for consideration for promotion):
    1. Non-moving lips while reading caselaw.
    2. Achieved Circuit Court on at least one other basis besides con·san·guin·i·ty.
    3. Possesses nationally recognized and ranked university degrees.
    4. Qualifies for official public service designation by having earned more than a government wage before entering government service.
    5. Insecurities not on wholesale display via sniveling bullyness and general wet diaper syndrome.

are these the complaints actually filed, or just the ones that got listed as filed? Requiring minds need to know.

      1. 4

        0

        Dumb question.
If they are listed they were filed.
All complaints not filed with the FSC are kept confidential during the investigation if any.
Only if the JQC files charges are they made public.

These are the ones listed on the FSC website. All those shown in the chart were filed and addressed by the FSC.

We’ll redo the chart after the end of the year. Dade is beginning to catch up, but none are as shameful as Broward, not even close.

        1. 12

Its been several months since a Broward Judge has gotten stuck sleazing down a chimney or caught on camera with their hands around someone’s neck.

so the dumb answer to such a dumb question is simply NO. It is NOT all the ones filed, just the ones listed that were pursued instead of buried and summarily dismissed regardless of the facts and evidence of misconduct. Wasn’t so hard, was it.

Gordo, there are four candidates including yourself for the position of Broward County Public Defender. You have generated more negative comments than any other person in the history of this blog. Congratulations! Why do you think that Tom, Sean, and Ruby do not get the same negative reaction on this blog? I know what you are thinking… the blog is just a few isolated malcontents and not reflective of the general voting public. You are going to find out that this blog is a microcosm of the electorate and they will react in the exact same manner to you on voting day. Your candidacy is doomed and you will suffer the ultimate embarrassment on election day. Happy campaigning and Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all on JAAB,
    From South Florida Corruption.com

Let’s make Peace on Earth more than just a phrase.

  31. 5

    9

    ‘‘Twas the night before Christmas
And I, Booger Boy, alone in my house
    Not a creature was stirring
    Not even a mouse

My stocking was hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that Santa soon would be there
I was nestled and comfy, all snug in my bed
While visions of boogers danced in my head

    With me in my PJ’s
And my tie by my side
    I dreamt of big boogers
    And smiled with pride

I awoke when I heard outside there was some clatter
I got out of his bed to see what was the matter

    I opened my shades
    And guess what I saw
It was Santa and his reindeer
    I watched them with awe

    I shouted and shrieked
It was a great sight to see
I knew there would be boogers
    Left under the tree

He was dressed all in fur
From his head to his toes
    I wondered if Santa
    Had ever picked his nose

    I ran down the stairs
    With all of my might
    To see old St. Nick
    Would be a great sight

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back
And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Toys I do not want, I want boogers instead

    His cheeks were like roses
    His nose like a cherry
    I asked for boogers
    That taste like a berry

    He filled up my stockings
    Then turned with a jerk
If there aren’t boogers in there
    I will go berserk

And laying his finger aside of his nose
He gave me a nod and up the chimney he rose

    I looked at my gifts
    And just couldn’t wait
    Those boogers I need
    I hope their first-rate

As I munched on my boogers
And wipe some on my tie
    I heard old St. Nick
    Give out a loud cry

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Interesting why Howard Finkelstein hasn’t publicly endorsed Gordon Weekes for Public Defender…
Weekes doesn’t seem to have much support for his own office either.

He probably doesn’t want his name remembered for being attached to a loser even though he’s his hand-picked pimp. . Typical hypocritical bs from Finkelstein on his way out.
Gordo had better being brushing up on his non-existent skill set.
      He’s gonna need them.

Great hire there Gordon… I guess you can only hire washouts from other jurisdictions since no one wants to work at the current PD shit show.

Maybe I’m missing something but i dont get this whole thing?

“Deputy Mawer grabbed Martinez’s coat sleeve from my view point. Martinez started yelling at Dpeuty Mawer saying ‘Dont touch me you have no right to touch me'” Then to the judge “She has no right in touching me?”

“Mr. Martinez verbally assaulted a deputy while his in custody client was present.” verbally assaulted? But didnt she grab him?

Then asked the judge for a recess to file a motion to recuse for not disciplining a bailiff that touched him?

So whats the point then? Curious what the other side of this is, but deputies shouldnt be touching lawyers under any circumstances. Unless im missing sometihng i dont see what the guy did wrong?

Lol what shit of a pds office is this? Those who dont like Gus can say a lot of things about him, but nobody cares for his clients more than him and he definitely has “brains”. Sounds like he stirred up too much for them to handle.

Also this judge saying he is “diplomatic” yet doesnt grasp legal concepts is hilarous! Gus isn’t known for “diplomacy” LOL but he definitely knows his shit and wins a lot.

His admirers can keep digging up fossils but it wont help them win against him, nor will it stop him from being the great attorney he is.

There are no fighting PD Offices in Florida. Only the Broward one. Schreiber and Finkelstein have political power. They never took shit. The other ones are a bunch of chicken shits or R’s who could care less. This report shows that. Caving to some Judge. It makes me puke.

So if Gus had yanked a deputy’s arm to “get her attention” that would’ve been okay I’m guessing? …. hahaha so ridiculous. U cant touch lawyers! This Katherine Turner woman is something else.

    REDEMPTION POEM

To all of you fans out there
Who don’t think my posts are funny
Would you rather me pick my nose
Or hop around like a bunny

    My nose picking obsession
    Has created a stir
    Don’t be offended
    I’ve become a connoisseur

    My secret is out
It should not be an issue
    I’d rather use my finger
    Then a nice fluffy tissue

    Everyone does it
    I know, with no doubt
    Shoving their fingers
    Inside of their snout

    I feel satisfied
When I pull out that snot
And wipe it on my tie
    I like it a lot

    I’m not shy about it
    I feel my redemption
    For all of you who
    Have given me positive attention

    I say once again
    It’s my greatest joy
    Don’t be hater
    I’m the BOOGER BOY

    Thank you to all
    Of my fans once again
    You are of great support

Don’t kid yourself. Gus is not a fine lawyer. Nor is Gus a stable or bright man. He is a classic cheater at the poker table. Banned forever from the game once fully exposed. Gus’s ego takes presedence over the well being of the most vulnerable in our society. The indigent, those with very little voice. Shame on you Howard and admin for not paying closer attention to the disease of your office. Little men with small dicks and seriously inflated egos. Gross

I’ve worked with Gus for the past couple of years. When I was first hired he was already a more experienced felony attorney. Over time Gus has helped me and several others who were hired with just about anything we needed: advice, motion writing, plea negotiation, and of course trial prep. Anytime i needed something he welcomed me into his office and helped out. Myself and many others are very grateful for all that he does to help younger attorneys. He’s kind and always willing to help.

I can truly say the guy is a creative genius of sorts. He always sees an intelligent solution to problems that others would not. He helped me figure out how to defend some cases that i couldn’t even begin to tackle on my own. He spots legal issues that others cant.

Seems like those outside our office don’t like him. And that’s good. He wouldn’t be the badass lawyer that he is for his clients if he didn’t create havoc the way he does. Others can post whatever they want but the Public Defender’s Office will always have his back because he’s a great co-worker and friend to everyone here.

Many of us have had the “unfortunate” experience, and i say that jokingly lol, of having to go up against Gus on a case or motion. He’s a die hard advocate and relentless fighter its exhausting to deal with him. BUT he’s always respectful, professional, and very nice! Gus knows how to strike a balance between fighting hard and treating opposing counsel with dignity.

While its true that a good chunk of our office hates his guts, its usually because people are lazy and dont want to deal with a pd that actually fights them all out on cases. Most people at the State dont like to deal with Gus but actually respect him a lot as a lawyer.

Hopefully when Lynch takes over and Finkelstein is gone, he will address the huge salary disparity as well as the case assignment disparities that exit between those of us that try cases and supervisors who do next to nothing but cause problems for the rest of us. The office is in shambles and needs re-organization from the top down. That’s the reason for the low morale and dissatisfaction within the office.
Gordon Weekes if he became PD would only make it worse.

Once Conway wins, I think Weeks can find employment building a vertical pilot project of creating many more future inmates on his P.R.O.M.I.S.E. “Program”. Once our future manufactured criminals are in “The $ystem”, we’ll need to work on the flip side, and eliminate the protection of our good citizens.
