All criminal defense attorneys and members of BACDL need to get the word out!!!!! VOTE OUT THE 4TH DCA!!!!!!!!!

The 4th DCA has no respect for the criminal defense community. The court does not follow the law. The court is biased in favor of the State. The court rarely rules in a neutral or fair manner. Worst of all the court doesn’t even do it’s job! The court consistently uses PCAs as a tool to avoid addressing complex legal issues, or as a means to affirm the unlawful conviction of a defendant.

The criminal defense bar must mobilize to vote out the 4th DCA! Until we have an appellate court that is fair, neutral, and competent, we must continue to vote “NO” on the retention ballot!!!!

Let’s get the word out to voters! VOTE NO TO RETAIN THE 4TH DCA!!!!

A totally whacked Clerk of Courts – yeah
A Sheriff with some serious baggage- OK
A lazy Public Defender with no trial experience- to be expected
But Pryor with only seven years on his belt and Loud Mouth Ilona Holmes pushing for center stage – Never gonna happen
Chalk one up for another exploratory lobotomy with perks …

Bob Kelley likes to buy things…i wonder if this doesn’t have something to do with John Morgan blowing KU out of the market locally?

He never really had much of a chance of winning. Rossman is going to take it. Pryor Has little to no any experience. That’s why he thinks he needs momma Holmes to bring home the chitlins.

He’s only there until January when he will take the helm. It’s nice to have an income/salary when you are prepping to come into office and not have to worry about billables. Kelley Uustal is well served as Harold can cover motions and will get his ass kissed. KU has been a huge supporter of Pryor’s campaign since the beginning. Only problem is who thought it was a good idea to make this public announcement? Makes Harold appear to be doubting his chances. He’s humble but the time for Rossman to have stolen this has long passed. This county is huge and most have already voted. Rossman hasn’t even put out a flyer. His campaign strategy is to put information out on social media. Not going to work. If you could do it for free everyone would run. No one will ever look at who they are. They will vote by party and they will do so ferociously because of Trump. Write your check to Harold right now.

With the kind of squirmy judges we’ve got here in Broward, the firm is just trying to capitalize on a few cases before they put their boy in. That’s if he wins at all. Just a small gamble.

They always preach the change issue when running for office and then when they get in they become incorporated into the same bs with mostly the same schleps sucking up to keep their jobs on the dole. I never expect much more from these suckers so I’m never disappointed.

Laz the spaz was possibly the worst county court clown to ever sit on the county bench in Broward with the possible runner-up for the title being Bob Diaz. He had no choice but to milk it for all it was worth for as long as he could. And he did much to the disappointment of all the other judges. He was never fit to do anything else being a big time loser.
He stunk even at even being a county clown and nobody respected him.
It was a relief when he finally because of health reasons slithered off the bench and into oblivion. Few remember him as being anything but an azz hole with no talent, no scruples and even less ability. Only in Broward could this lopsided moron have even made it as a county judge.
I heard he wears his robe now as pajamas…

The Laz Rule is actually more of a distance / bond index variable fixed on radius.

And was never meant to be serious. If you knew the man and knew how he ruled you’d understand.

But if you’re a tool that never argued in front of Laz or understood what he stands for …. then you’re a misinformed dimwit.
Look at the objective stats. He was Overturned on appeal for giving a person too much leniency AGAIN AND AGAIN. He had a history of being too merciful when he was reviewed on appeal, contrary to what the douchebag anonymous writers here would say.

I argued in front of Laz many times and actually thought he suffered from dementia or something. He had difficulty understanding the merits of various arguments. Its probably why he never made it to circuit.

Document: Lauderdale Sgt. Greenlaw enrolled in RRA 401(k) profit-sharing benefit?

      By BRITTANY WALLMAN
      JAN 20, 2010 AT 1:10 PM

Staff writer Sally Kestin has this intriguing bit of news:

Fort Lauderdale police Sgt. Steve Greenlaw, coordinator of Scott Rothstein’s off-duty guard detail, may have been enrolled in 401(k) profit-sharing benefits at Rothstein’s law firm, according to documents in the firm’s bankruptcy case.

Greenlaw is under internal investigation by the police department to find out whether he violated city policy when he was working off-duty for Rothstein. Greenlaw was among the 28 officers who guarded Rothstein’s house, restaurant and law firm, but he also acted as the coordinator of the detail, scheduling all the officers for the work.

One allegation, lodged by Rothstein bodyguard Joe Alu, is that Greenlaw was employed by Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler as a driver, and drove Scott and Kim Rothstein twice. Outside employment must be cleared with police officials, and Chief Frank Adderley said Greenlaw did not ask to work as a driver for Rothstein and did not have permission to do so.

Greenlaw’s name is included in a list of RRA employees and family members in a Dec. 4 court filing in the bankruptcy case. It’s a motion by bankruptcy trustee Herbert Stettin to terminate RRA’s 401(k) and profit sharing plan, remove Rothstein as the plan’s trustee and authorize Stettin to select a new trustee.

The plan contained assets of $1.4 million and as of the end of 2008 had 60 participants with money in their accounts.

Police Chief Frank Adderley said Wednesday he was unaware Greenlaw might have been given a retirement benefit from RRA.

Greenlaw also is listed as an unsecured creditor in the Dec. 22 bankruptcy filing of all the schedules. He is listed being owed an unknown amount, which could include wages, salaries, commissions or benefits.

Rossman is by far the better choice. A seasoned trial attorney who I believe will be a good administrator too. He did a phenomenal job on the Sun Cruz murder case. If not for Holmes, that case would not be coming back down. I hope he’s SA when the retrial starts. Tony Loe is a great lawyer. But I’d still like to see Rossman running the show. And I dont mind letting Satz come back for the Parkland trial. Though its not really necessary. This dem is voting Rossman. Only second time I’ve crossed party lines since 1978.

      Really?????
exhibit 1. Reid v. State, 4D12-2303. First degree murder conviction REVERSED. “A basic tenet of American criminal jurisprudence is that the state has the sole burden of proving a criminal defendant’s guilt….the general rule is that the state cannot comment on a defendant’s failure to produce evidence…”
“The excerpts from the prosecutor’s closing argument are specifically directed at the Defendant’s failure to call…a witness.”
      Prosecutor: G. Rossman.
P.S. This was the 5th time Rossman tried and failed to convict this defendant.

Exhibit 2. Pierre v. State, 4D17-3103. First degree murder conviction REVERSED. (Co-defendant of Reid). “The prosecutor’s closing argument improperly shifted the burden of proof and invited the jury to convict the defendants for
failing to call a certain witness.”
      Prosecutor: G. Rossman.

Exhibit 3. Ferrari v. State, 4D14-464. First degree murder conviction REVERSED.
“We hold that the state’s failure to comply with its obligations under …Rule…3.220, by neglecting to disclose the substance of a codefendant’s statement as well as the existence of EXCULPATORY STATEMENTS BY ANOTHER WITNESS, constituted a discovery violation.” (Emphasis added).
Prosecutor: G. Rossman. (Along with B.C.).

Exhibit 4. Moscatiello v. State, 4D15-3695. First degree murder conviction REVERSED. (State introduced inadmissible hearsay statement which featured prominently in both opening and closing arguments.
Prosecutor: G. Rossman (Along with B.C.).

That’s the man you want to have the job supervising 200 attorneys, some of whom are fresh out of law school???

I’m not at all familiar with the Reid case so I cant comment on that one. I’m very familiar with the Ferrari / Moscatiello case. Rossman an BC did a fantastic job putting those 2 gabons away. Holmes was the one who allowed the hersay testimony about what Gurrino told whats his face at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino about “popping that Greek fucker.” Tony Loe is gonna send that scumbag Ferrari back to the cage where he belongs. Rossman is a much better choice than Pryor.

Does anyone know why not a single Broward Judge was considered for the current opening on the US Supreme Court?
Not even Chief Judge Tuter, appointed by a Republican Governor, was spoken of.

It’s elected officials living off the backs of hard working citizens that’s the problem. Term limits for all elected office and limited to two term terms in any public office is the only way to stop the war on people who work and produce things of value in society. These elected officials serve only themselves and cover each other. They don’t care about anyone but themselves.
