MARY ROBINSON TOO …

We’ve just confirmed a lawyer with both civil and criminal experience, currently working as a prosecutor, will be running in 2016 for county court Group 14, the seat currently occupied by Mary Robinson.

We’re also told Barbara McCarthy and Mike Satz may have opponents, but no confirmations just yet …

Debbie Carpenter is going to file

Betsy Benson is going to file

Sam Lopez is going to file

Mystery Person #8 is now going to file against Robinson

Mystery Person #22 is running against McCarthy.

If I had a nickel for every wanna be that claimed they were running against a sitting Judge, especially the unnamed ones, on this blog I would be rich.

McCarthy can be beat easily. Satz is untouchable. Business must be slow. The slimey dice game that is Broward Judicial Politics is about to get allot more heated with a few getting melted out of office by the looks of it.

An opponent for Mary Robinson? Is it Jordan (Breslaw) Jordan?
The knucklehead who got his ass handed to him last time he challenged her?

McCarthy is the easiest judge to beat of all of the judges who are currently up for re-election. She is unlikable and irritating and she would be a disaster at fund-raising events. I see a lot of candidates entering her race. Step right up for your black robe!

Michael Robinson is easy to beat. He’s so busy getting reversed he doesn’t have time to campaign.

Civil and Criminal experience who is now a prosecutor…sounds like another slapdick who washed out in private practice. Hmmm could it be Tony Loe?

It’s hard to protest the lack of diversity on the bench when people like the Robinsons are the ones that get appointed.

Cut the crap. Nobody in this county cares about diversity. Broward deserves the bad reputation it gets and it’s not just the judges it’s the lawyers.
It doesn’t matter who runs, who wins, this county easily has and will always have the worst judges, lawyers, cops, public defender and prosecutors. It’s a cesspool.

I look forward to reading the incorrect election predictions every cycle, so I’m glad to see they are starting already.

Even if everyone in BCDL voted against the “bad” judges who are not defense-friendly, it would not make a dent in the election results. The folks that actually vote in the elections don’t read JAABlog to see the complaints of a handful of lawyers.

What kind of a person wants to be State Attorney in a corruption and crime ridden county forever?

    Get a life, Goofball!

If u ask me Mike Satz as State Attorney has done a good job. Can u imagine what this county would be like if he wasn’t State Attorney ?
Most of the problems are caused by bad judges who don’t follow the law, don’t know the law, or don’t care one way or the other. Bad judges keep getting appointed for political payback and the ones running for office are doing it for economic gain or because the can’t make it in private practice. Either way, it’s doesn’t improve the situation.

ADVERSITY IS THE STATE WHERE MAN BECOMES MOST AQUAINTED WITH HIMSELF. ALL BROWARD JUDGES SHOULD GET OPPOSITION.

The only thing that would make me happier than this is if Judge Michael Robinson were to get opposition as well. We need some new judges that will make a real difference.

Robinson was never a top lawyer yet he acts like he wrote the book. Here’s a tip, stop demeaning prosecutors and public defenders who are better lawyers and who won’t become Judges because they aren’t married to it. Isn’t it 4th Dca Wednesday? Brace yourself.

The funny thing is Mary is in charge of County Criminal when she’s hardly ever in the building compared to others.

Incumbents have a typically insurmountable advantage because of the gag rules enforcing judicial elections and TFB. If a lawyer running for the bench can’t tell the truth about a Judge, all the public sees is some rich, bloated sad sack who puts on a woe is me please don’t send me to the unemployment line routine. Then its back to half days and entitlement soup a day after reelection with a judicial administration that encourages the less is more attitude polluting the system. Unless there is money in a PAC, a well meaning lawyer might as well donate time to pro bono work or volunteering in a soup kitchen because nobody in the legal power justus game will give them a chance at becoming Judge.

With the last name of Pearlman, she has the job for life. Rosenthal ran into the gate at the jail – gave the video of herself running into the wall on 595 to the prosecutor – DUI a month before the election. Still re-elected.

Anyone interested in beating low hanging fruit like Robinson or Mccarthy wouldn’t want incumbent Perlman or anyone else with a good name out there. Judges with good names would support their colleagues on trail. Keep them out of it and Robinson, etc could be beaten.

I’m all in favor of both ROBINSONS getting shown the door. Of all the judges we need to get run against, it’s them. I can’t believe what goes on in those courtrooms. We’ve got some throughly underperforming judges here, but they have to be at the top of the list in my opinion.

IS JUDGE MARY ROBINSON ABLE TO WORK FULL DAYS?

WHY WOULD SHE RUN IF SHE CAN’T WORK FULL DAYS?

It would be the biggest gift to the people of Broward if she did retire. Now, can u do something about Mike ?

Just like Feren physically she can’t campaign. It would be right if the seat went to an African American judge.

They’re both so slow. The odd hangups and personal quirks that slow it down. It’s like they need to slow it down. I hate going into either courtroom.

If a judge can not or does not work 40 hours a week, it is up to the Chief Judge to report it. If the Chief Judge is not reporting this, then someone needs to report the Chief Judge. There are interested individual keeping tabs on the 2 issues mentioned above.

    Puhlease.

The entire reason the bush league Broward gang voted for Judge Weinstein was precisely to make sure they could do nothing.
