MEET JUDGE ODOM

Dennis Bailey and George Odom monitoring ballot inspections by Pete Antonacci and Ken Gottlieb …

The recount in Bailey v. Odom has concluded.

The results aren’t official yet, reportedly to be certified tonight. We’re told there was an eleven vote shift from the tallies going into this morning’s recount, which had Odom leading by 1,216 votes.

Congratulations to both George Odom and Dennis Bailey on their campaigns. We haven’t heard from Dennis, but George sent over the following text earlier this afternoon:

“Humbled and ready to serve all the people of Broward County.”

THANKS FOR PLAYING!

Ive been waiting for this. His arrogance and poor demeanor got the best of him.
Its such a simple job if you can just keep it together and be polite to everyone. I don’t get why so many Broward judges crack. Its not like they work very hard.

Body language says it all. Bailey standing there with his hands in his pockets while the final tally is being made.
He’s certainly had his hands in the pockets of taxpayers his entire career. Too long.
Time to get out and work for a living. The party is over and the gravy train dry.
I suspect from here on out there’s going to be a few more Broward judges changing their pants.

He’s a veteran. He served our country. There wasn’t anything else important in the race after learning that.

Sorry Dennis. I just don’t have the juice to get your old job back. Big changes here too. Try Legal Aid. I hear they’re hiring.

Its what happens when you decide to disguise yourself as an azz hole.
A lot of Broward Judges suffer from the same sense of entitlement and show the same arrogance.
A few shots of tequila and Bailey will have forgotten all about what brought him to be tagged now among other things as a big blowhard loser.

The voters of Broward decide who will sit as judges. This has got to mean a big decrease in pay for Bailey. Its probably the most he’s ever made.

More than several. A bunch of suck-ups who can’t make it on their own without a support group of like idiots to grease the flag pole.
If that’s the caliber of Bailey’s supporters, he should have just stuck to wearing a jockstrap over his mouth. He would have done better.

Some of them use to jump in every race there was and lost every time. A bunch of “never was beens”with black robe fever. The ones on the list in private practice must make 40 grand a year if their lucky.

Bailey was his own worst enemy. He sure didn’t learn anything from the rest of the fallen angels, did he ?

Pedro DiJols can be compared to Bailey in a lot of respects. He acted like he had been anointed for a judicial position to belittle others and treat them like they were somehow his inferiors. He met the same fate as Bailey much for the above actions exhibited from the bench almost every day.
Remember how he walked around the courthouse acting like a wounded bird when he met his Waterloo at the hands of voters ?
Bailey I suspect has a lot to reflect on at this point, all brought about by his inability to recognize that judges serve at the pleasure of the voting public and are ultimately answerable for their actions.
Bailey lost his judgeship when he disappointed all of us and was disciplined by the Supreme Court of Florida for actions unbecoming a Judge.
I for one am happy to see this position filled by a more capable and polite person such as Judge Odom. I have had the pleasure of working with him for years and can say without equivocation that a vast improvement in judicial temperament will be experienced by anyone having a case heard before him than what we have heretofore experienced with Former Judge Bailey.
Unfortunately, like with many other Former Broward Judges that have been defeated at the polls, I sincerely doubt that he will learn anything from his experience.

He could’ve ridden the gravy train forever. All he had to do was be patient. Judges don’t have a dog in the fight. The good ones understand that. Especially when it’s a service dog.

The time to be fair though is now. Ilona Holmes helped Judge George Odom. A lot. Gave him money too. As much as a nuisance she was when she was in the chair, she did 17 right by helping to rid Broward of a man that dishonored a robe that belongs to the people, he who also brought disrepute on the good members of the judiciary, by becoming a JQC Judge. Without Judge Holmes the dirty Scum Sentinel would have succeeded in propping up the 17th Circuit JQC ignominious traditions and its mostly-White complexion.

I know none of the judges around here work very much, and most upon becoming judges thought they had hit the lotto because they had failed in private practice or come from the ranks of underlings in the SA, but I don’t get how they survive on the chump change they pull in. It must all be about the ego pop and the pensions if they can hang in there long enough.

Would like to think we helped a little.
Some on YouTube said we helped them decide to vote against him.

Now most of you are calling him racist.

your too kind inferring that the weasel is a man. he’s a coward and the JQC still retains jurisdiction over him for 12 months after he leaves the bench. at the last public reprimand the chief justice warned the weasel that should he come before the court again “grave consequences” will follow. the justice based that comment on a letter he received about the weasel’s behavior and how the weasel intimidated a female attorney in an ex-parte communication. a jqc will follow now that the election is over.

Divine intervention has been involved here. The Broward judiciary has been plagued by bad Judges for too long. Transformation at the hands of the Divine is here. No one else has held the bad Judges accountable. If the Chief Judge or JQC is unwilling, the Divine shall. The Broward judiciary shall rise from its lowly position as the worst JQC Circuit in history but only through the hands of the shepards and the hands on the plow and other instruments of belief. Praise the Divine.

Must have been uncharacteristically humbling for Dennis to have to swallow defeat, even as a whimpering punk who was literally handed the brass ring and screwed it up all in his first term.
Some people just aren’t cut out to sit as judge. Broward has a lot of them that just can’t wield the gavel without allowing themselves to blow up like an egotistical balloon.
The consistent problem is the balloon can be popped so easily.

THIS IS BROWARD WHERE ALL JUDGES SHOULD BE RUN AGAINST AFTER THEIR FIRST TERM
BAILEY IS JUST A SYMPTOM OF A THROUGHLY ROTTEN JUDICIARY WITH NO CHIEF JUDGE THAT HAS THE BALLS TO REIN THEM IN WHEN THEY MESS UP
TUTER MAY WELL BE THE WORST OF THEM

      Let me get this straight.

Judge Robinson’s wife helped take down Judge Bailey?

A sitting Judge’s wife did this to a colleague of her husband????

Is Judge Tuter aware of this?

        1. 5

          It’s refreshing, I say.
The old ‘us versus them’ mentality may be giving way.
          The judiciary will finally improve.
Judges Robinson/Holmes (Ret.) are helping put more qualified people on the Bench over the poorly performing incumbents.
Hopefully some of the sitting Judges can lend a hand and report Judges that they know break rules or slack off.
It shouldn’t always be the Public Defenders or Jaab that has to uphold the rules.

Why is Judge Gottlieb there? No offense to him, but aren’t elections too important for a County Judge to handle? Especially with all the problems starting since in 2000 and now still? Why aren’t the DCA or Chief Judge handling?

      1. 3

        0

A busy Judge doesn’t have time to decipher scribbles on a ballot. Seriously, read the statute.

        1. 16

          0

U wont find any busy judges working in Broward. Just slackers sliding their way to full retirement and a big fat pension. That’s if they last that long.

This newest toss out of Bailey gives me some faith back in a hopelessly corrupt judicial system. Lets hope it continues.

Now get that Scherer Mole Tuter out of office and maybe we can begin to make some real progress.

Bailey just didn’t know how to stay ahead of the curve.
Instead he got whopped by a curveball…
There’s no saving the stupid ones.

                  0

Like any judge in Broward works 9 to 5. Its the worst kept secret around. Taxpayers would be appalled if they knew how few hours a week judges put in.

      2. 3

        0

Then the law should be changed. With the closeness of all elections now and the dividedness in the nation? Is this wise? The sanctity of the electoral process should not be safeguarded by the lowest level of Judges and should be handled only by Judges entrusted to handle the most serious matters. This’s a no-brainer.

        1. 0

          0

Its a non-issue because if things progress beyond the regular procedural norms, as with the Bush Gore recount, a higher court representative is called in, like Judge Rosenberg was. However, it may be time to change the laws, and have a District Court or State Appeals Judge overseeing. These Judges are insulated from the same electoral processes which they would be tasked to oversee (lifetime appointees District, merit retention Dca), unlike the State Judges called upon now. Dca or District Judges are also more capable Judges than County Judges, which is why they occupy such high stations in the legal system. The concerns over voter fraud are overstated currently in my opinion, for political purposes currently, but are things that need to be closely monitored nonetheless, and by our brightest Judges.

Finally getting some movement around here ! Bailey was a bad choice for the bench. Judicial Rotation could solve a lot of the chitty judicial burnout syndromes we see all the time in Broward, but absent a chief judge that has a set of nads and wants to improve the situation, I guess we’ll just have to keep voting them off the bench every time in hopes of getting new ones that have some fresh tudes that haven’t been tainted by the same chit.
We really do have some of the worst judges. Bailey was just another example of the same chit going to his head. He’ll have some time to consider now other options now that he lost his re-election bid.
There are a number of others that should meet the same fate.

  19. 4

    1

Not so fast. Trumpy Desantis could appoint him again. He did that in Miami for a Judge that was told to pound sand by the voters. Judge Bailey could also run again. Trumpy Desantis would love to stick Demo Broward with a JQC Judge. The Scum Sentinel would help him do it too since they want the JQC Judiciary staying as it always has been. Those in the know should lobby any judicial officer thinking of retiring to stay in office to avoid an appointment by Trumpy Desantis or allowing an open seat to occur for Bailey to run for with another endorsement by the JQC Judge loving Scum Sentinel.

I know you wouldn’t ask a guy nicknamed Ice Pick too many questions, but why would Bailey have blown it like this ? He had it made in a circuit where judges hardly have to do anything but collect a paycheck ?

    BSO PRESS RELEASE

SOUTH FLORIDA ATTORNEY ARRESTED ON EXTORTION CHARGE

A South Florida attorney is facing an extortion charge connected to the Miramar armed robbery case involving two NFL players.

Members of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Public Corruption Unit began investigating attorney William Dean in August after information emerged that Dean was attempting to extort suspect Deandre Baker. Dean represents three of Baker’s alleged victims.

According to investigators, Dean wanted Baker to pay each of his clients more than $266,000, and, in exchange, the victims in the case would either stop cooperating with prosecutors in the criminal case or change their initial sworn statements to police, thereby weakening the case against Baker. Evidence in the case reveals that Dean told Baker’s attorney that his clients would do “anything you want, so long as the money is right.”

BSO’s Public Corruption Unit deputies, along with the U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Dean on Monday morning in North Miami Beach.

This case remains an open and active criminal investigation.

Typical no response from former judge Dennis Bailey just like what you’d expect from the old guard of arrogant Broward Judges who think they are entitled.
Odom on the other hand represents at least for now, a new openness and transparency as well as humility and appreciation for what voters expect from him.
Bailey and his style of puffed up moronic judges will learn as they are replaced one by one by more able and better suited contenders for the bench who remember what it means to actually serve the public as opposed to pat themselves on the back at every opportunity and pose for photos.
This is just the beginning of a real wake up call for these deadheads.
