McCarthy from Evans to Zaccor after Pritcher files in Zoccaaro and leaves and goes to Evans. All four seen eating lunch together! One does right by the supportive Black demos and the other becomes the bad girl. BIZZZAAAARROOO

Jimny Crickets!!! This race is as fun as the Nina-Ian-Brenda race! Looks like the First Lady of Broward Health will need a new gig come August. Maybe her hubby can get her job as YAA kids b-day party planner?

Nah…he’s too busy now watching out for any Ford Taurus followings and pretending he has a tracer on his car and/or saying his house was broken into to take the tracer…

Gives new meaning to “The Odd Couple”

I left the tracker that was attached to my car on the dryer and when I came home it had been stolen ! I didn’t make a police report however because my judge wife told me not to ! LOL. Who exactly does this idiot think he’s fooling ? Now all hell is breaking loose and she’s about to get her azz handed to her ! I should never have listened to her in the first place !

Word has it she and hubby are lookin to take the office of the PD when Howie retires much to the dismay of Gordo Weeks. Just in time for the do nothing PD supervisors maxing out! Lol. Gordo has enough time in so it won’t hurt that bad. Whoever thinks Gordo Weeks, just another empty suit, is going to get passed a free ride to PD is either delusional or just plain stupid! Lol. Weeks has done nothing to distinguish himself from the other do nothing PD supervisors but play dodge any cases for years. Time for payback is ticking.

Hey 1:59 check your facts. What happened… happened. Ask Pritcher herself. Unless of course YOU ARE PRITCHER just realizing what a foolish thing you did.

Oh yes,I certainly remember the old days when Phyllis was a Public Defender and I, El Huevito used to do her in the PDs office on the desk. Actually we did it on several different desks. Always a class act to remember. Ah, the good old days.

Pritcher is well-liked in the courthouse and should do well. She’d be a welcomed relief to Evans uptight attitude on the bench.

I GUESS WE CAN ALL THANK THAT GOOFBALL WEINSTEIN FOR THIS MESS. NOW EVERY TURKEY IN BROWARD IS RUNNING FOR JUDGE WHILE OUR CHIEF JUDGE THAT DOES NOTHING BUT MAKE EXCUSES FOR DRUNK BROWARD JUDGES LOOKS FOR HIS NEXT JELLY DOUGHNUT AND DOES MARLON BRANDO IMPRESSIONS AT JUDICIAL CONFERENCES.

Just where does all this leave Benson who like everybody else is desperately trying to get out of the PD’s office before it caves in ? ??? That is except for the supervisors who don’t have any cases but are just as desperate to ride it out ! Don’t blame her but next stop is Legal Aid or Regional Counsel looks like. Alcalde has it all sown up.

    1. 0

      0

Wow, you are a total dumb f-ck. Alcalde did not even qualify. Benson is top of ballot, a woman, has money, and has been working for a year. Her opponent is who?

  10. 0

    0

Hey Benson Buster…did you fall down and smack your little pointed head? Idiot….Adrianna Alcalde is out of the race. She raised no money and had no connections. Her only smart move was recognizing that she was getting whipped so she dropped out of the race before it really even began. Do I hear crickets over in the Alcalde Camp? Of course…with genius supporters like you, who could blame her?

    1. 0

      0

Alcalde was actually able to make $ in private practice. Unlike that loser Benson. Benson had to go crawling back to the PD because she couldn’t handle being in private practice.

      1. 0

        0

Correction: alcalde has NOT been making anything in private practice.

Were it not for the charity of her family she’d be on food stamps

          0

Said by some jealous loser that still works for the government. Yes-Alcalde’s father was very wealthy. She realized that she might make more money investing her inheritance wisely instead of blowing it all for a crappy government job.

    2. 0

      0

Lol. Benson has no real $. All of that money is her entire life savings. Look at her JNC application. Let’s see how much of that money she spends.

  11. 0

    0

Once again pal…did you fall down no smack your little head? Check the election records pinhead. They document exactly where all the donations come from. Benson’s records show she has one of the highest accounts of all the candidates and that very little came from her. Try doing a little research before looking so ignorant. And if Alcalde was doing so well in private practice…yeah right lol…then why did she spend her valuable time campaigning? Again…don’t be such a pinhead pal.

    1. 0

      0

Yes. Look it up. Betsy has loaned her campaign almost 100k. We all know that is all the money she has in the world. Adriana I’m sure figured that she would have to give up her Mercedes and her thousand dollar shoes if she became a judge.

    2. 0

Benson could be going to the courthouse as a defendant and not a judge before this is all over…

Howard Finkelstein could find his so called legacy takes an unintended turn with candidates like Benson running around with handcuffs and a towel on her head! What kind of buffoons are these bonehead judge wannabes anyway ?

Just an empty suit without any smarts and no cases either wandering around trying to look busy much like the rest of them. And he thinks if he can keep up the act long enough he’s going to be the next public defender. LOL. He’s delusional…

Bottom line is this….like it or not pal: Betsey Benson beat Adrianna Alcalde. Period….end of game…end of argument. See you in August!

I’m sad that Adriana didn’t stay in the race. She is a good genuine person. My dealings with her as a prosecutor were always fair. I wonder if she is going to endorse anyone in this race. I heard Betsy was very nasty to her. Bet she is regretting it now. She could have gone in without an opponent. But that is Karma. You treat people terribly and it will always come back.

    Tone deaf PD:
There’s a mass exodus. Attorneys miserable. Of course administration wants to say it’s because we’re not getting raises due to the governor. That’s partially true. But the environment in the office has nothing to do with the governor. Our boss defines our office culture. The office has changed. There’s still, plenty to be grateful for. When it comes to an emergency, a health or family issue there is no better administration. Yes it could be worse.

No we don’t need to write a memo to “wipe our ass” like stated during the last meeting. But let’s be honest…everyone is NOT replaceable. Something also said at the last mtg. If everyone can be replaced then let’s replace Dorothy or get someone that’s tried 100 plus homicides, sexual battery cases and is just an all around helpful person. We NEED THAT person ASAP. Also let’s get a replacement for Lubna. While you’re at it let’s get a replacement for Don C since he’s not handling cases at this point. And : Bruce, George, Dohn, Matt, Tammy. Get someone with equal experience to replace all of the major crimes and homicide attorneys. While you’re at it we never replaced Sandy, Bernie, Jacob and others with 15-25 years experience.
Replace Negron with someone that handles those economic crime cases with boxes of discovery. Those cases are really like civil cases…so dull!
What seems to happening is attorneys are NOT BEING REPLACED. That’s probably the main reason why morale is low.

The ones working and picking up the slack are being piled on. A couple of people were fired for mistakes and some new attorneys are afraid to make mistakes.

Also promotions should be based on merit. Not friendships. That doesn’t help morale one bit. Besides is it really effective as a leader to be surrounded by sycophants? Is this the legacy you want to leave behind? I’d suggest you read the tea leaves and conclude the present course (regime) may not be working.

All this while the Chiefs (that don’t have cases) pat themselves on the back and talk crap about everyone. Either…Administration is clueless at this point as to how people feel. Or they don’t care. Each alternative is bad for the clients. The very people the true, proud public defenders represent daily.

We should lose the high school like behavior so we can go back to being the smart ones in the court house. FYI- I’m for sharing the pens with the privates and answering questions, getting along with others….etc. Note to new PD’s most (almost all) the (good) privates were PD’s at some point. Note to the new PD’s we’re awesome! Despite what your boss and the clients say…you’re great! Keep up the good work every day! Because you’re all some of these clients have. PERIOD. They deserve nothing less.

In closing, instead of Cathy sending e mails saying how proud she is to be a public defender …she should go to court. As should you. “The” public defender. Everyone says how interesting and cool you were in the good old days. A real showman in court. Bring that person back.

If you want to show you’re truly proud to be a public defender then go to court. Lots of circuit PD’s do. They have cases. The Chiefs work.

While in court stand beside your comrades. Get to work. In the trenches. Then you’ll never need to send any e mails describing how proud you are to be a PD or the fight and the injustice against the poor.

    People will see and know.

    1. 0

      0

Let’s start a mantra that maybe Howard or Cathy will be forced to follow if we all keep saying it:

      Go To Court!

hey Kathy, you good-for-nothing waste of taxpayer money, Go To Court – stop emailing how happy you are to be a PD and go to court as you are paid to do

  14. 0

    0

It all falls on deaf ears in the PD. It’s no longer a good working environment. To bad really. Things have steadily gone downhill for a long time. There is no one to go to anymore to ask questions because everybody is afraid to because the supervisors use that as an excuse to criticize you to substantiate their own jobs while many have no cases and spend most of their time looking over their own shoulders counting the days until they can retire out to maximize their benefits without any care for those of us carrying the real burden of increasing case loads and added responsibility without anyone having our backs. It’s pretty deplorable have to come to work every day facing these odds. We Ned a real shake-up in the way things are run in the office but Howard doesn’t seem to get it or care. I think there will be even more people leaving soon because of all of this from what I’m hearing. Again, it’s too bad things aren’t different. Theses no feeling of solidarity left.

The Fink is our local Donald. An insecure narcissist who is unable to empathize with the plight of others. He is a self-aggrandizing, mean-spirited. attention-seeking hypocrite who surrounds himself with mindless true believers who are willing to drink the kool-aide. The Howard cult is alive and well in Broward County. Run!

  16. 0

    0

What other choice do they have ? The biggest problem is the disproportionate caseloads and the fact that supervisors don’t carry any. It is what it is. If you don’t like it you can quit like the others are doing. He’s not going to do anything about it. The only people really suffering are our clients but that seems to the hypocritical part of the line he espouses.

I never would have thought that Regional Counsel is a better job than the public defender’s office. At this point the PDs office is a mess no one wants to work there, its like High School in West Virginia . Wake up Howard….. your in the roll of Rip Van Winkle asleep… when an office with not even 35 percent of our budget is taking our people with one only investigator who does the work 10 times better than most of the retired cops on the budget making more money than the attorneys!! I hope they have another opening at Regional Council because im signing up wake up Fink.

Stop The bullshit—just vote for Phyllis. —–the best qualified for this race ,and she’s obviously going to win, I know for a fact .I had to litigate against her in court —- and she is absolutely wonderful ,and I am sorry to report that I had no shot at winning against her expertise. Just vote for her—————- she’s the best choice !!!!!!!!

I’m the next unfortunate that’s leaving the PD. I can’t stand the BS anymore. I’m putting together my resignation letter. I had such high hopes but I just can’t stand all these cases being dumped on me where nothing has been done by the previous attorney. I can’t believe it. I’ve been told the only thing I can look forward too now is getting a bad recommendation from administration.

Am I mistaken or are all of Scott’s recent appointments to county getting opposition? I can’t remember this many incumbents ever being challenged in Broward. I think that’s a good thing. But, do any of these folks know how to run a campaign? Turnout will be high.

Who wants to try Homicides for peasant’s wages?

    The answer is nobody.

LOE, GALLAGHER, MARCUS, DONNELY, SATZ NEED TO STEP UP

    1. 0

      0

At least one Judge I know is seriously thinking about leaving the job to go to the SAO. “Peasant’s wages” may not be what motivates everyone….

    2. 0

NOT TONY. ANYONE BUT TONY LOE. Isn’t there an Antarctic SAO research vessel to something he can be assigned to? Maybe one without enough lifeboats?

  25. 0

    0

That is some list -22 gone
And of course attorneys have been leaving the SAO too.
But the problem is not just that people are bailing at the PD office. It’s that even those that stay can’t repair the damage done at the PD’s Office.

The boat really may be sinking at this point.
If you look back even 6 years the office had plenty of attorneys in house that had 25+ years experience.
    True public defenders. Fearless.
George- successfully defended every kind of case. Death penalty, media cases, you name it.
Bruce – has tried what 100’s of cases. Countless death penalty cases. Some defendants he’d represented over 20 years…because the case was reversed SEVERAL times!
Sandy- successfully litigated every kind of case. Many of her last death penalty cases with Bruce.
Dorothy- has mentored and sat with just about every attorney in this office on a trial. Whether it’s a death penalty case, homicide, robbery with a firearm, media case, she’s tried them all. Like a star! But if you had a capital sexual battery case, Williams rule, child hearsay question and the state was trying to put on some some questionable evidence during trial…(something they don’t do right?) you called Dorothy in a pinch and she’d crack the statute book open with you and help you research the issue.
    H. Dohn- had almost 40 years when he left the PD office. Experience litigating as a prosecutor, PD, and years in civil practice. He’s successfully litigated every kind of case and represented politicians, civil servants, true traffickers. If you needed help looking at any pre trial motion issue regarding a search warrant, franks issue, motion in limine, gps, or researching ANY issue for a pre trial motion he was the man. The office didn’t need to call an outsider to (barely) teach the newer lawyers or give a CLE. Don or Dorothy or Dohn did it. Actually some years ago attorneys had some search warrant questions they were discussing with Dohn. I can’t name them. But they were talking to Dohn about the search warrant in a case and then it sort of became hey you should give a little refresher on search warrants during lunch time to the attorneys that want to come. The office heard about it and they had Dohn do a CLE on search warrants for the entire office.
There’s more. I could go on and on.
The issue is that at this point…There’s probably only a few people (you could probably count them on one hand) that have had as much experience and as many trials currently at the PD office as say George, Dorothy, Bruce, or any of these former PDers.

So I agree with the prior posts that it’s unfortunate. The truth is most attorneys in the office have very little experience and there’s few attorneys left to handle cases. There are people that can handle a 3rd degree. There’s also almost no one left to handle the serious complex cases. Of the attorneys that do the cases seem to be disproportionately assigned.

There’s also only a handle of people left to answer questions on gps, cell site, Williams rule, child hearsay…etc.

But there’s no one left to teach and train the newer PD’s on trying the more complex cases, such as death penalty homicides, or capital sexual battery cases.

  32. 0

Mike doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Public safety comes second. Gallagher is still in charge of DTU. Bloated lazy higher ups making bank and young lawyers left to flail by themselves. Homicide is the tip of the iceberg. Mike won’t put his experienced lawyers to work or shake things because it’s an election year despite the fact the office is ineffective. It’s no wonder he can’t develop lawyers into career prosecutors. Everyone has seen behind the curtain and it’s a sad man doing everything he can to serve himself.

Who’s really a trial lawyer in this? I see trial lawyers you’ve gotten to head units. Which makes them currently not real trial lawyers. Not the people who get the, “Yikes this is a high-profile mess. Someone handle this.”

Anyone who’s a professional case filer shouldn’t make over 80K. WTF.

same question to the PD. Who’s going to try your cases when there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians?

This blog is spot on these days.
    It’s right about Matt.
Right about the hypocrisy of the SAO sweeping all its in house garbage and crimes under the carpet. The Donnelly, Downs & DTU fiasco is outrageous. Can’t wait for BSO to criminally charge someone. Yeah right.
Right about M. Ros getting the misd chief gig when she gets back from 2 week vacation.
Right about the pd losing lots of attorneys. Though state is losing a bunch too. It’s just not being reported as much.
This blog has been so much better lately.

But if you have EVER written a single post which reveals who you are (like signing your name when someone passes away, or to brown nose a judge), I’m told that Bill makes a note of the IP address – for future reference.

What’s worse is him implying to others that ‘so and so’ wrote this about ‘so and so’ (when often times it isn’t correct – he just spreads that about people he might not like).

With as many people as The Fink has pissed off with his spewing Hypocrisy, Gordon Weeks will never be the next PD. Not that The Fink really cares. H e just wants to be viewed as having been the attempted savior of blacks in Broward. The Republicans are waiting to toss Gordon Weeks under the bus when Howie is out of the way. He never was the second coming. Just in his own perception of himself and Broward isn’t a believer in affirmative Action. It ain’t gonna happen. Gordon Weeks hasn’t done anything for years but try to be Howie’s Pimp to have the PD fall in his lap. He’s in for a big surprise when Howie is out. Ask Weeks the last time he was even in a courtroom or when he had a case. Like the rest of the do noting supervisors in the PD, he’s been in hiding for years except to be rolled out ever time Howie is feeling insecure at black political functions.

I thought the PD Chief were suppose to be managers and policy makers for their divisions, not line attorneys? Why wouldbhis seection have to be based upon affirmative action and not that he’s the most qualified (if he turns out to be best qualified for the job by then)?
I suggest if you think Weekes is so unqualified, then you need to make sure you run against him if he runs. Otherwise, why not just wait to see the choices that are available when the time comes. Just because he works for Fink, it doesn’t mean he would be anything like him as a PD.

    2. 0

      0

Clearly, the author of this comment isn’t writing from a place of actual knowledge about Gordon Weekes or what he does. Perhaps the PD Chiefs have earned the reputation of being do-nothings, but the fact of the matter is (as with anything) there are exceptions. Gordon is one such exception (so is Nadine, but this post is about Mr. Weekes).

Gordon is NOT Howard’s pimp or any other poorly veiled racial slur you wish to call him. He is his own man and one of the few things I can say that Howard has done right during his tenure in office is recognizing within Gordon the talent and ability to be a GREAT Public Defender for Broward County.

Perhaps Gordon won’t win. But that won’t be because he lacks merit or ability, it will be because the racist tendencies of this so-called liberal, progressive county just won’t let him be great. So rather than spew ignorant vitriol, perhaps the author should actually be in courtrooms and talk to Mr. Weekes and his colleagues. Maybe then the veil would shift from his eyes.

      1. 0

        0

I guess some mistakenly thought Gordon didn’t carry a case load, but you (howard) are saying now that he did have a full active case load. So, they were wrong to assume that he was doing what nearly a dozen or more attorneys there do, which is to not have their own case load.

Can someone else from the PD’s office (besides howard) confirm or deny whether he carried a case load there?

        1. 0

          0

He doesn’t carry a caseload but he actually works. The only reason we all benefited from the Kelly McDonald fiasco was because Gordon exposed it, trained PDs on how to attack the lab’s weaknesses, he deposed McDonald on a lot of cases and drafted and argued several motions in court. Gordon also challenged the officers on “Police Women of Broward County.” If a Juvie attorney needs him in court, he’s there right away and his door is always open for help. Gordon was also instrumental in closing down Thompson Youth Academy where juvenile detainees were being abused. He is an excellent chief and he deserves to be the next Public Defender.

Sounds like Gordy is running already ! LOL. I’d agree with the above author in that Weeks has little to no chance of winning an election for PD. Don’t know exactly what he does but from PDs I’ve spoken to in court, it doesn’t involve any actual casework and he hasn’t tried any cases in passed memory.
It’s funny how these punks think they can ride on their own merit ticket to elected office when they’ve done very little to be respected for besides run around acting like they actually do something.
I might remind Howard Finkelstein that he doesn’t pass the position of PD on to anyone. The people of Broward County elect who has that privilege.

        1. 0

          0

Gordon Weeks has been running away from any kind of actual work for years! I don’t think he has much chance of ever being elected PD whatsoever either no matter what Howard Finkelstein is thinking. It just won’t happen. And by the way, there are more attorneys leaving the PD very soon from what I hear. Nobody wants to work here anymore.

Judge Contini jumped into a division with the highest case load., but somehow that is never mentioned. He’s probably twice as smart as some judges on the bench, but that is never mentioned either. He’s extremely fair-minded and tries to see both sides. Something political going on here.

You are all jokes sitting there on your computers ridiculing individuals that you pretend you like in the halls. Broward is a national joke not because of the Judges, because of the lawyers. You all are so concentrated on hating anyone that is even marginally successful or runs for Judge that you cannot ever be successful your self. Judges are changing yearly, the old power base is fading and the new power base is certainly not the individuals speaking poorly about people on this blog. You all should take a hard look in the mirror when u make the comments you make.

Some of the people posting on here and pretending to like people in the halls may be judges. This courthouse is full of backstabbers and snakes. Some of them happen to wear robes.

        Chiefs- Howard
        Cathy
        Bob
        Frank
        Diane
        Susan
        Owen
        Renee
        Gordon
        Nadine
        Lynn- leaving office
They are administration. There are a few other attorneys also in administration that have non chief titles.

The Chiefs interview and hire people. Not soon enough these days. They oversee divisions. One chief heads mental health, another major crimes, another juvenile, early representation and the jail issues, etc. They handle training, supervise attorneys and so on.
Key word supervise. They check (second guess) what the lawyers are doing. From the office on the 3rd floor. They have NO caseload.

If Alcalde hadn’t campaigned before bowing out Benson would have slacked off unopposed and never gone to events.

Now Benson is in good shape to win because she worked harder because of Alcalde.

    Benson should thank Alcalde.

  49. 0

    0

Alcalde LOST…period. The only “favor” she did was to stop embarrassing herself. Benson continues to travel the county appearing at various events. Alcalde sat around and waited for something to be handed to her. She had no money…no support…no endorsements…and no chances…so she did herself a favor and dropped out. Period…end of story…end of Alcalde’s sad campaign. Quit whining already!

    1. 0

      0

Alcalde had Wynmoore, Pembroke Pines and kings point wrapped up. she decided she wanted to make $ more than she wanted to be a judge. Benson put her life savings into this. Her only ticket out of the PD because we all know she can’t make it on her own.

You mean pay-pal, don’t u ? Lol. Benson has wanted to get out from under the thumb of Howie and garbage gang bad. This was her last way out. She won’t be sitting on the bench after the election. And she won’t be staying with the PD either. She’ll wind up at RCO or Legal Aide.

  50. 0

Judge Benson will be a fine addition, namely another PD Judge who is there to temper the sleazy State.

    1. 0

Betsy you aren’t a judge yet. Settle down. Let’s hope you don’t try to milk the taxpayers anymore. Campaign on your own time. We PDs work hard and you are out there camapaigning while we are in court.

Howard has transformed the judiciary. That’s his actual legacy. All the haters know this. That’s where the hate comes from. Howard turns people into ace social justice lawyers and then they get elected. Mike has a lot of formers on the bench for sure but they are usually the trial dodging political hires. Mike won’t let his stars run. So Howard and Broward wins.

Half a century from now nobody will know what a Satz or a Ross is but all will be going into a courthouse or civic building named for Howard Finkelstein because he was the sole courageous voice of reason against overwhelming injustice.

  53. 0

Gordon is a serious poser who only gives the appearance of doing something while hiding in the shadows. On the rare occasions that he does go into a courtroom, he believes that repeating his simplistic argument five times and staring blankly at the judge are effective advocacy techniques. What a joke. From a corrupt dictator to a mindless drone. Great transition.

  54. 0

What’s the buzz on all the PD’s leaving ? Is it just the fact that all the supervisors have no case loads and do nothing but make it miserable for everybody else ? Or is it more ? Looks like Howie’s dream of a minority push without facing the fact that the quality of any of us remaining has gone belly-up ! Lol. It’s pretty pathetic from what I hear. My opposite in court is on her way out too. Pretty soon the lazy do nothing supervisors look like they’re gonna have to get off their butts of necessity!

  55. 0

    0

Isn’t it obvious, duffis ! Nobody wants to work here anymore! The coolaide isn’t having the same effect now that we’ve all caught on. It’s more like the type that what served up at Jones Town now ! Lol

  56. 0

    0

Time for another pep talk now that so many are leaving. It will be the regular BS about how there’s no money for raises and no justification as to why there are so many supervisors getting paid top dollar for carrying no caseload while the rest of us keep getting more and more cases dumped on us as more and more people leave the PD for more lucrative opportunities. And the typical crap about at least we’re getting a notepad. They are of no use at all. Rather have a raise instead.

With half the office leaving the PD, I guess there must be a lot of openings. I hear Gabe Ermine went back. It’s rough out there in private practice.

  59. 0

It’s a large percentage of the office that’s hit the road. I didn’t realize things were that bad in the PD!

  60. 0

    0

Ermine is way too good to work with Weinstein. He was smart to go back and represent people who desperately need a professional and skilled attorney. He clearly doesn’t need the money and is doing it for the love of the work.

  61. 0

    0

Weinstein said gabe wasn’t good enough to get all that free money on thru “wheel” that he somehow gets more cases that the rest of the shlubs….weird but he says it has nothing to do with his dad that he gets more appointments… he says its because of his skill and slender good looks.

    1. 0

      0

The shlubs always take care of their own in Broward’s Game of Thrones for as long as they can get away with it or until some get prosecuted for squeezing the grease too much but the chances of that are low or next to nonexistent because we have a SA that looks the other way when it comes to white collar grime ! They are way to busy prosecuting poor black people for petty crimes like riding bikes without lights in their own neighborhoods. Then we have black attorneys who find it too convenient playing Uncle Tom, not to mention not in their best interest to try to help do anything about solving the problem. The cesspool that is Broward’s Legal Circle stinks to high heavens.
It’s more profitable to look the other way and much easier to be a hypocrite.

Word is that next year in the new Courthouse we won’t have to deal with the incompetent, useless, rude bailiffs anymore. They are ALL being replaced by real cops in the courtrooms and this is way long overdue. No more loud mouth wannabees . Bye bye bailiffs. Good riddance.

  63. 0

    0

They’ve always been useless little self important morons only there making the useless self important judges feel better about themselves. Anything would be better than having these ignorant NY retirees screaming at everybody that has business to conduct in Broward courtrooms. It will be a vast improvement having them replaced by professional court personnel. Maybe the Broward Clown judges will start acting more professional now too.

  64. 0

    0

It’s hit critical mass in the PD. Large numbers leaving for better pay and less so called supervision by supervisors who know a lot less about what it’s like to be in a courtroom than first year newbees !

  65. 0

    0

You mean the bailiff that thinks that he’s a real Ladies man, a regular don Juan and his big mouth loud mouth obnoxious partner on the 7th floor are not going to be around next year ??? What a shame, I’m NOT going to miss the female bailiff with her big mouth yelling all the time and I definitely will NOT miss Don Juan hitting on me every time I’m in his courtroom, his breath stinks like a dogs smelly ass. Bye bye and good riddance, none of you will be missed. Go back to new York, you all always say how much better it is in new York. Take I-95 and head Morgan’s don’t come back.

  66. 0

Is anyone else going to miss the useless bailiffs as much as I am. I would definitely like to hear from all of the people who love the retired NYPD big mouths working as bailiffs and milking the system and the Broward County taxpayers for all it’s worth? After all isn’t that the way of New Yorkers to steal as much as they can. Thank God that they will be gone next year !!! Bye bye wannabees.

What’s with this chick ? Former PD now accused of smuggling into jail multiple cell phones so she can stay in touch with alleged boyfriend??? This is after she’s already been accused of having had sex in the jail with this dude ??? I guess all the training they gave her in the PD’s office really paid off ! Now it’s up to the BAR to make sense of all this because of course there have been no charges filed. What’s the scoop on the darling of the jail bate saga ???

Hello I heard Elhuevon is on here…he and I were lovers in the late 90s until I lost touch with him. Thank you Lord for allowing me to find him. Those who don’t know he is a frustrated lawyer due to his limited skill and lack of money. He drives a very shitty car, has a verrrrrry ugly paramour and generally hates his life. His only outlet is to blog on any site that will have him. I am glad he found a home on this blog run by the very talented and handsome Bill Gelin and his very beautiful and virtuous wife Lynn.

Oh how I missed his very very intelligente conversations and lighting fast quips. He is tremendously bright and handsome. He attended only the finest schools…how do you say it in English? The No Go Law School? and he graduated in the top 90%. I only hope I did not scare him off with my pining away for him.

      Hey Chaz Stevens,

You conveniently left out the part of the PD’s employee manual which specifically states “Attorneys will not be held to this time schedule.” The strict lunch times are only for “clerical staff” as you yourself stated. Betsy Benson is an attorney last I checked. Good luck with your criminal complaint.

      1. 0

        0

HAHA Nice try but everybody knows betsy is bending the rules, she just didn’t think she would get called out!
She can try to claim “flexibility” but campaigning isn’t the same as having a few extra minutes to pick up your dry cleaning.
The bottom line is she was claiming she was working and simultaneously campaigning. The burden is on her to prove she was staying late or made up the time during that 24 hour period in which she claimed she worked 8 hours. The assumption is she is at work during working hours otherwise.
That’s the risk you take by not taking a leave like the SAO requires.

        1. 0

Who in the picture is Betsy Benson ? The one in the rabbit suit ? The campaign violations seem to be adding up or what ?

Is that her arrested!? It couldn’t have happened that quickly. Why is she smiling? Does she find all of this funny? I don’t understand.

            2. 0

              0

Benson by the look of things so far looks like she’d fit right in with the rest of the reprobate Broward judges. All she’s missing is a few DUI’s and a bottle of zannex!
Maybe she likes being handcuffed. Not very funny and doesn’t show very good discretion on her part. Kind of like when she was walking around wearing a burka the last time. Just another joker lookin to feed at the public trough some more. She must really want to get out of the PD’s office bad to make such a fool of herself. She should call Help me Howie as if he’s not already helping to create the next judicial scandal in the making trying to stack the judiciary with PD clowns. This may be one he regrets helping before it over.

      2. 0

        0

None of this changes the fact that mailers can correctly claim that benson has had criminal complaints filed and unless benson produces a document exonnerating her, it can be claimed that an investigation is pending

        1. 0

          0

What is Benson doing campaigning on public defender time ??? It’s clear Finkelstein is allowing her to do it in his continued attempts to stack the judiciary ! He should be the one investigated if you ask me.

          1. 0

            0

Benson is done by the looks of it. Don’t know how she’ll make a comeback from this. Finkelstein loses another one of his minions. Then he’ll dump her after she loses. Nice game he plays. Thought they would have caught on by now.

              0

All men betray. All lose heart. Many have lost faith in Howard Finkelstein. It’s too bad. Many at first thought he was fighting the good fight. Now it doesn’t seem that way at all.

    2. 0

What is an employee of the Public Defender’s Office attending political campaign functions for durring working hours and why is Howard Finkelstein allowing this to take place ?

        1. 0

          0

She didn’t put in for leave. Have you read the complaint? That is the problem with judge wannabes that already think they are above the rules. There wouldn’t be a problem if she was putting in. But she goes to some event in Weston and the taxpayers have to pay for her campaigning. She should have taken a leave. It’s not fair to have taxpayers pay for her campaign time. As a judicial candidate she should know the rules.

        2. 0

          0

it shouldn’t be a big problem for someone with as fat a bank account as benson. She should start spending that warchest.
I mean, her next campaign cash infusion from the state of Florida and the PD Office is only 10 days away

          1. 0

            0

Don’t u mean the taxpayers of the State of Florida ? This woman has no place on the bench if she can’t follow the rules. And no place working in the Public Defender’s Office if she’s not doing what she is being paid to do and that is represent indigents. She should not be able to campaign durring business hours and should be fired by Howard Finkelstein for doing so.

            1. 0

              0

There’s a reason why SAs running for public office have to quit their jobs. Apparently Howard Finkelstein could learn a thing or two from Michael Satz on that subject.

              1. 0

                0

He’s too busy playing the game of I’ll scratch your back if you’ll scratch mine, an all too familiar game for someone who started out running around telling everyone who would listen that he was not running a political office and was going to take politics out of the Justice equation. What do you really expect ? Lol

In West Palm Beach, the Public Defender is first chair on most death penalty cases and her administrators who are attorneys also are active representing clients in the courtroom. The assistant public defenders are paid through the same state budget as in Broward, they are happy working there, and they feel that they are respected and appreciated. Moreover, they have never fired all of their experienced attorneys for having differing opinions and less experienced attorneys have never fled the office in a mass exodus. Wonder why the Fink gets a free pass from the press when the comparison is so unfavorable to him just up the road 45 miles? Something stinks around here and I know where the smell is coming from.

What’s going on in the PD ? Why are so many leaving ? It’s beginning to look like a ghost town around here. It sure isn’t the place it was when I first started working here. And then there are these useless notepads that are somehow supposed to make up for it all. Lol

Maybe some of the bailiffs can go work in the PDs office when they all get layed off next year. Especially the don Juan with the smelly breath and his partner who’s always running her big loud mouth, the both of them are so unprofessional. And the bailiff in Segal’s that doesn’t speak English can go with them. Bye-bye bailiffs 😎😎😂😂😀

Eljulio is a fraud, I specifically only use other IP addresses other than my own. It is true I might have logged on once or twice with a cell phone… but I borrowed it from one of the cocksuckers in the hallway. Nova is a fine institution, maybe I didn’t take advantage of all that higher learning and it made me angry and limp dicked, but I can tell you this, in my country the car I drive is very sought after and gets great gas mileage. It might not be fancy, but it is what I can afford representing people for anything they can give me. Last week I did a DWLS for a Rooster. In my country they call that a cock. So yes I did a DWLS for a little cock. The rest of the allegations are fraudulent I never go to public bathrooms to meet Eljulio well maybe once, but I prefer the Lauderdale bath houses.

Interesting the pattern of Elhuevons posts. Usually either 11 to 12 or 2:30 to 3pm. I believe they are closing in on u oh great Elhuevon. Quickly, only use open networks.

Benson’s got trouble and that means another PD candidate’s about to bite the big one. Now we know what all the PD supervisors are really doing with all their time when they’re not carrying any caseloads. Benson obviously isn’t the only one skipping out on the tax payer dime. Add it up. Like half a million dollars and they’re doing nothing for it. Check how their cars disappear after lunch and never show up again. It’s easy to see what’s going on.

Get a clue pal….I was in Judge Usan’s courtroom yesterday where Betsy was getting ready to start a first degree murder trial. That doesn’t really fit in with your BS about her not putting in a full-day’s work. If you’re gonna BS, at least do your homework so you don’t appear idiotic!

Good to know…no doubt the voters of Broward County will be interested to know the types of clients she represents. Representing murders may be a good thing having a smoke amongst your colleagues at Jimmy but voters don’t give a damn about every scumbag having a right to a defense.

Could you be any more ignorant? Does the constitutional right of “presumed innocent until proven guilty” mean nothing to you, or did you miss that day in your civics class? Why don’t you wait until after a person is convicted before you brand them a “scumbag”. Even worse, you condemn an attorney for working to uphold the constitution. How do we have patience for people like you who claim to love America but plainly have no understanding or appreciation for American values? They’d love YOU in the Middle East pal!

Voters are ignorant…, how do you think we may have Trump as President. No one likes Public Defenders, most times that includes their clients. Do you think the same sheep who have elected Mike Tough on Crime Satz for 4 decades want to vote for someone who represents those who may have murderd their friend or loved one. To her credit, even Betsy knows this, that is why she doesn’t mention on the campaign trail she works for the PD office.

Elhuevon that last comment was made at the Starbucks near the courthouse are you getting craftier or was that not you? I will admit it was dumb to log in with your phone, but you have never been bright. I heard clients are lining up for you to take their case for a little cock is that true?

You see Elhuevon is nervous to use his home computer, that is why he is silent today. Don’t worry when he finds a safe IP he will speak, unless he has a skin churro in his mouth.

Benson in trial ? That’s really a good one! She’s too busy campaigning out west to be preparing for any trial! Just how gullible do you think people are? It’s this type of Hillary Clinton lie for convenience sake that these little puppies think is going to continue to get them into office! Everyone knows that the so called homicide division of the PDs office in Broward does nothing and never has. It’s practically worthless to the people of the State of Florida.
Benson has wanted to get out of the PDs office ever since she had to go back after her short stint in private practice. And Help Myself Howie will let her get away with doing nothing just like he does in attempts to get as many PDs on the bench in Broward as he can. It’s no secret to anyone except to people who are mentally challenged.

sad thing she is or was part of the in crowd so why does she want to escape the wonderful world of the PD Office?

It doesn’t appear the Help Myself Howard is doing very good in that respect. Doesn’t Mini Me have enough problems with attorneys leaving his office like rats jumping off a sinking ship already ? Lol

Sounds as corrupt among judges as it is here in Broward, only the newspapers never report any of the problems here.

What’s this make, 22 PDs quit now ? Having a little problem as the rank and file realize supervisors carry zero cases and more and more cases get dumped on us ? Got news for you guys: even more of us are getting ready to quit. Better start operating the office like other PD offices or you’re going to be the only ones left and you’ll have to take cases.

Compared to the WPB PD’s Office where all the supervisors and the PD actually have cases and work for the fat salaries they receive…
