The Broward purge is long overdue. Kudos to Chief Judge Tuter for having the courage to keep the ball rolling. The job is far from finished from the word on the street.

    From the 17th’s website;
    John Contini Biography.

    VALUES

Hey does anyone know where I can look at people’s applications to jnc for nomination for all these vacancies. All the same dweebs keep applying and I really wanna see what they put on their applications. Like people with no trial experience…what did they list? I searched the governors website and couldn’t find the complete applications but I know you can view them somewhere…

Feren was actually a great judge. Miss him compared to the crew we’ve had on the family bench the last few years. Today, we’re left with a sane few, and a handful of newbies.

No one can be surprised by this. He was a wacko and this is what happens when a wacko wins a judicial election. He never should have been elected in the first place. In fact the sun sentinel didn’t endorse either candidate, Feren or Contini, instead they said “hold your nose” and vote.

Contini was too opinionated and too biased in his ideas to ever be a neutral arbiter. He was a courthouse character, they don’t make good judges.

There are quite a few wackos on the ballot this time around. They are probably too crazy to realize who they are. But if they win they need to change their personalities and do the right thing- or else they will get booted as well, just like Contini and C. Robinson.

I’m one of the wackos. Vote for me. I got fired for lack of truthfulness and professional negligence. My wife needed a restraining order. I lived in my office. Who says I’m unfit? I have the judicial look.

None of these jokers take any intellectual responsibility for anything. Term limits for all judges should be implemented and probably a psychological evaluation done before they take the bench. Broward has more than its share of all these whack jobs all seeking the job for all the wrong reasons, most of which have to do with getting a steady paycheck and lax schedules rather than suffering any further from a failed or ailing practice.
Sad but true. We’ve got a lot of failed government gophers sitting on the bench around here.

Contini’s been a ticking time cracker since he took office. Better than most clowns, but still had problems from the beginning.

John Contini has been around a long time. Nice guy. Good heart. He has his demons and its hoped that they haven’t resurfaced. His tenure in family court was focused on finding solutions, often not the relief the litigants sought. This made him unpredictable and often not in line with the law. Not always a good thing. As with rookie judges it was hoped that he’d learn and settle in. The family bench is filled with rookies and judges who know little about this area. It’s a minefield. Not knowing what Contini’s next move is but he should be wished well. He was never a jerk and that’s a plus.

BROWARDS JUDICIAL ADMINISTRATION IS FAR BEHIND ALL OTHER CIRCUITS IN THE STATE
ELIMINATE JUDICIAL FIEFDOMS AND INSTITUTE JUDICIAL ROTATION LIKE ALL OTHER CIRCUITS IN THE STATE
EDUCATE JUDGES IN ALL FACETS OF THE LAW
    INSTITUTE JUDICIAL OVERSIGHT AND ACCOUNTABILITY
BROWARD JUDICIARY HAS BECOME ROTTEN TO THE CORE WITH CORRUPTION AND NEPOTISM TOPPING THE LIST
JUDGES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PUBLIC SERVANTS
NOT CORRUPT PAY TO PLAY POLITICAL GRUNTS
    RETURN INTEGRITY TO THE BENCH

The whole place is full of patronage JNC appointed failed lawyers or bozos that similarly have no practice and can spend months on end greasing the condo commandos to get a robe. At least they’re being rotated out the door.

    1. 0

      1

Wrong your not allowed to run against someone appointed by the JNC, so therefore no reason to go to the condos. One may only run for Judge if it is an open seat vacated by a retired judge. Don’t you know the Courthouse Commandments?

Plus you must get the blessing of the retired judge. If not your banished, this is one of the commandments

THE CLAN IS DEVELOPING LARGE CRACKS IN BUSINESS AS USUAL IN BROWARD JUDICIAL CIRCLES
THE OLD CLAN HAS LOST ITS GRIP BECAUSE OF BADLY PERFORMING JUDGES
PAY TO PLAY JUDICIAL PRACTICE HAS ERODED CONFIDENCE IN THE JUDGES OF BROWARD AND TRANSPARENCY IS TEARING APART THE DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS OF JUDICIAL CORRUPTION
    WATCH FOR MORE RESIGNATIONS

If we didn’t have so many bad judges and broke putzes running against them we wouldn’t have so many DBs running around with their hands out begging for campaign contributions.
It pisses me off that these flunkies think we should finance their way to getting or keeping a job. Then they whine about how little they’re paid when they only work a couple of hours a day two days a week!

JQC, Please arrange the resignation of the entire County Criminal Bench by 5:00 PM tomorrow (Monday).

My boyfriend is set for trials Tuesday and we would rather go to the beach.

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe you’ll figure out why Broward judges are jumping ship like rats on a sinking ship. It’s not hard. It’s reached critical mass with little leadership coming from the Chief Judge culminating in multiple judges being challenged at the polls. The free ride for Broward judges is coming to a grinding halt as transparency continues to bring to light major problems within the ranks of the judiciary and it’s very problematic judges.
Heard the judicial herd is going to get smaller with more resignations coming.
Better late than never. Broward judges operate with little oversight, lax schedules and as we’ve seen, corruption continues to be a large part of the equation among this highly politically motivated tribe.

5:00 pm on a Friday ? He’d probably had enough of the clown show after being told changes were in the making. He’d had problems in criminal before and saw the train coming.

We better get ready for the JNC carnival to start up again and another whacked out putz to get appointed to an already severely diminished pool of slackers. Contini didn’t do us any favors quitting half way thru his term. Like Porter, thinking only of themselves, they’ve left us with crappy options.

    00000 aka south florida corruption,
You readily admit that you know and have communicated with the person that filed the JQC Complaint regarding this matter on several occasions.

    FULL DISCLOSURE-

The woman, (WE KNOW) who filed the JQC complaint,

Yesterday we said last we heard from her it was still open.

After learning about Contini resigning she emailed us yesterday and now confirms she received a letter recently from the JQC telling her they were not doing anything further on her complaint.

You are a complete idiot and fool.

In order to be charged with practicing law without a license, you would have to fraudulently portray yourself as a lawyer, file court documents on behalf of someone else, or charge for the advise.

Since we do none of those, it’s call FREE SPEACH fool.

    pla·gia·rism
    ˈplājəˌrizəm/Submit
    noun
the practice of taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them off as one’s own.
synonyms: copying, infringement of copyright, piracy, theft, stealing; informalcribbing

From the article we copied & pasted yesterday:

Judge Contini was well liked by many of his colleagues. He was known to be smart, intelligent and dedicated. One of the few attorneys in Broward who ran for office with a successful private practice.

Many of them said he’s smart, he’ll figure it out.

Even though the judge is resigning in the middle of his term maybe we shouldn’t be to harsh on him. He may have had a very noble reason for resigning.

Maybe he couldn’t figure it out. After thirty years, most of his career, of defending the accused and oppressed, sitting in judgment over others just was not in him.

If that be the case, we then commend the judge for having the courage to admit it and stepping down.

Now get rid of about 6 more equally incompetent judges and Broward has a chance of making a dent in the corruption that’s taken over our courts here. Unfortunately some bimbo will replace him that knows even less about Family Court than Contini did. One step forward, two steps back.

This blog is like a train wreck. You don’t want to look but you just have to. It’s Human nature. Did you know that Google’s algorithm is essentially that negative news always goes to the top? So a person, whether politician, celebrity, business, lawyer, doctor, etc. who has ten positive news articles written about them and one negative will always find their one negative article on top and all the positive stories way below that one. Google posts what they think people will be most interested in, and negative sells. So that’s why we all read this BS on this blog. That’s why we all come back here, even after being disgusted, even when there is zero credibility as to any comments on this blog. Because human nature drags us in. But the comments are so stupid. It boggles my mind how uninformed and dumb some of the bloggers are (that’s not even including the nazi lover, Ahearn hater and the palm beach judge guy). The blog comments are ignorant, uninformed and gossipy.

Now having said that I want to laugh at all the really stupid comments today. Everyone has a reason for the judge’s resignation, everyone seems to know why he left so suddenly-but actually no one on the blog knows. It’s all speculation and gossip. And then everyone has something stupid to say about all 90 judges. They are lumped together as one judge. We all know that not all the judges perform poorly or don’t work at doing their best. Tuter can’t be responsible for each judge. Some are good, some are great and some are struggling. There’s 90 judges, not everyone will be the perfect magistrate. It can’t happen, people. Duh!

Now I know, you’re going to argue that it’s only in Broward. That’s not really true. But nonetheless we only have the electorate to blame for that or the governor for his often political appointments. Elect qualified people.

Meantime, the appointed judges are getting younger and younger. That’s a bit scary. We need seasoned lawyers, seasoned people who have had clients and Court trials and life experience. Unfortunately many people run for Judge and the job isn’t right for them. Same with appointed judges. They realize it when they’re on the bench. Further, the job doesn’t pay as much as top jobs at private law firms, but does pay more than state law jobs and failing solo practitioner jobs. That’s the facts folks, like it or not, that’s what you’re going to get on the bench. Why so many prosecutors and PDs?? Because they are trial lawyers that spend every day in court. So it’s natural that they would want to be a trial judge.

So if a lawyer is making over 200k at a law firm and she is very successful, it’s highly unlikely that she will want to be a judge. The pay is not great, the aggravation, scrutiny and criticism is not worth it. I always wonder about the people who try to become judges at the end of their career. Is it just another feather in their hat? Or a life long dream? Some will be judicial scholars others simply won’t be.

Well it’s time to come to your senses! Not every judge is underperforming and, no, Contini must have had a good reason to resign, not just because he felt like moving on – or because , as one blogger wrote, he left early to screw the county and get another young and unqualified appointment in under Gov Scott. Maybe, as quoted by the sun sentinel, he couldn’t adjust to being a neutral arbiter after being an advocate for the downtrodden for so long. He was a nice guy, just not the best judge material.

If you want change then get involved in the elections. Tell your friends and families and neighbors etc who to vote for in August. Tell them if you know a candidate who would make a poor judge due to experiences you’ve had with them. Don’t just complain, get out there, go to a judicial forum and get involved. And if someone would make a great judge or there’s a judge who got an opponent and you support them then get involved in their candidacy. Help make a better Broward judiciary. Don’t just complain and gossip.

Sorry for the rant. Thanks for reading. Have a nice week ahead.

One thing’s for sure. You won’t find any legal scholars sitting on the bench in Broward ! Not from what I’ve seen and I’ve been here for over 20 years.
Broward does seem to have an inordinate amount of clueless judges.
