Welcome to Thursday everyone. It looks like ATurd has been blogging away all day yesterday. What else can you expect from a fat giant loser with bad breath. Here is your question of the day: Which animal eats more food on average on a daily basis?

    a) an elephant
    b) a hippopotamus
    c) a gorilla
    d) the ATurd
    e) Miss ATurd

Winner gets a fresh stick of deodorant from Publix.

Barner is totally unfit either in experience and temperament. She is a bottom feeding foreclosure attorney. So much for practicing in 67 counties. Most of the time she appears by phone on short uncontested motions. If she had any talent she would not need to work at a low tier foreclosure firm. Instead she would be a civil litigation firm either as a plaintiff at Shelsinger or a defense firm like Cole Scott or Wicker Smith. If somehow she gets elected she will have the worst case of “Black Robe Fever” ever seen in Broward. I know first hand.

This is the most patently absurd take I’ve read on the J-Blog. Congrats for that. It should come with a ticket to fantasyland and Small World After All fast pass.

Barner is easily the most qualified, with experience in criminal and civil, reputable work outside of foreclosures and, as a result of her marriage and personal life, a fairly good understanding of the diverse population in Broward.

As for “black robe fever”– there’s zero evidence for this claim and “you knowing first hand” makes you sound like a lover jilted at the altar, not a reputable and professional member of the bar.

        Bye Felicia.

I’ll vote for a family business man before I vote for Benson or Rifkin who have sucked at the public trough their entire careers and been employed by the PD or SA.

And how would you even know about Abbe Rifkin’s cases or case load being up here n Broweird??

Don’t talk about something that is above your intellectual level and that would include everyone in Broweird. The only thing y’all are really good at is gossiping, backbiting, ruining someone’s reputation and good old-fashion blustering.

And blustering is for the whacko Donna Kodash who thinks she can leap tall buildings at a single bound. I hope Boss Reporting crashes and burns. It would be a fitting end to someone who has made numerous “chambers” visits, stalked and harassed new reporters so they don’t feel comfortable working, cheated her own reporters and probably sucked up to just about anybody and everyone in Broweird County.

Y’all can have your incestuous cesspool of bottom rung DNA candidates.

Rifkin and Benson look like they could have met on a blind date. Two government career junkies looking to jockey for a better spot at the end of the hose ! Suck it up girls. You’re most likely by the look of things going to stay where you are …

Trump could care less about her. He just wants her Hubby’s financial support. He’s already endorsed on Fox. Just google Trump/Di Pietro or Di Pietro/Fox. That moron posts all his interviews on his twitter/ look what I did account

Check out the Clerk’s website for County Court Case Number: COCE 16-012091 Division 49 (Judge Nina DiPietro)

This is a civil action filed on June 9, by David DiPietro’s firm on behalf of their client Skyfix against Mark Solomon.

Why is this interesting? Despite the fact that the case was filed two months ago, Judge Nina has not recused herself from her husbands case. In fairness, Judge Nina is not expected to know every case in her Division. Certainly, her husband David should have given her a heads up to recuse or moved himself to have her taken off the case?

2 months after the filing of the lawsuit, there is no Order of Recusal from Judge Nina

    From Sun Sentinel…

“David Di Pietro, a Broward Republican activist who spent the 2012 presidential campaign and most of the 2016 campaign season supporting the most insider, establishment candidates, is now supporting the most outsider candidate of all: Donald Trump.

Di Pietro said he signed an endorsement for Trump on Monday, and plans to do everything he can to support his candidate between now and the state’s March 15 primary. He said the New York-based developer and part-time Palm Beach resident would do well in Florida, and defeat the state’s Republican U.S. senator, Marco Rubio.

“I think Trump’s going to crush it in Florida,” Di Pietro said. A Quinnipiac University Poll released Thursday shows Trump with 44 percent of the vote — far ahead of the 28 percent who expressed support for Rubio.

In 2012, Di Pietro was Broward chairman former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign. For 2016, he signed on with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign. Di Pietro was a Broward campaign committee co chairman for Bush, who dropped out of the race after losing early nominating contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Di Pietro describes himself as “business, fiscal conservative guy.” The lawyer and Oakland Park resident was appointed to the North Broward Hospital District board by Gov. Rick Scott. Di Pietro serves as chairman of the agency, which operates under the brand name Broward Health.”

Lopez and sokoloff both stated in their speeches that they were published by the appellate courts. As far as I know the only words being published in a DCA opinion are those written by the judges. Appellate courts rule on a case and write opinions, they also indicate the names of the lawyers representing the litigants, this does not constitute being published by the lawyers. Dumb!

This is a scary crop of candidates.

Brenda DiIoia does not look well. And Phyllis Pritchard stated that when she’s a judge she’ll wear cowboy boots under her robe. Is this just a game?

    1. 0

      0

It’s rare for a judge to have a case published. It’s usually the attorney on the winning side who gets the case published in FLW or wherever. A lot of lawyers get case law published. Especially concerning interpretations of statutes and instances where no specific statute addresses an issue. I would not be surprised if Lopez and Sokoloff won cases at the appellate level and then had the case(s) published.

      1. 0

        0

That’s not being published. Simply being the lawyer on the winning side is not the same as being published. You have to actually write the opinion to be “published”. Here the lawyers may have won their arguments but DID NOT write the opinion. So they twisted the truth.

        1. 0

          0

Btw- what are you taking about???? Lawyers don’t get case law published. That doesn’t happen. FLW publishes Judges orders from county and circuit court, not lawyers opinions on statutes or cases. And the DCA publishes appellate opinions written by DCA judges. The only way the a lawyer gets published is in magazines and books. That was not what these two candidates were talking about. They said that they were published on appeal. They never mentioned any books or magazines. In fact Lopez preceded his comment about being published with a statement that he handles “more appeals then you can imagine”.

          1. 0

            0

Bullshit. Lawyers on the winning side send cases to FLW for publication all the. It sure as hell isn’t the losing side. FLW then decides whether to publish it. You think every case that’s litigated gets published? What the 2 candidates were talking about was winning appellate cases and the decision being publishd in FLW or Southern Reporter or wherever. Being published in a book or magazine or newspaper is something entirely different.

        2. 0

          0

Most of the county court cases that are published in FLW have an opinion that the winning side authored and the judge rubber stamped. How do you think FLW gets cases to publish? They’re sent to them from the winning side. Judges dont normally send cases to FLW for publication. I’ve only sen it done twice. Once with Lee and once with Lynch, and in both cases, the litigants were pro se.

          1. 0

            0

Wrong. County court judges send their orders to FLW all the time, not just lawyers sending cases they want published.

But the issue is that the candidates said that they were published on the appellate level. They did not mention FLW. They misrepresented themselves so that the voters would think they were “published” lawyers. They could not have been published at the appellate level- because only appellate judges get published on appellate cases. Even the FLW doesn’t publish lawyer’s “orders” or “opinions”- only judge’s orders. Duh!

            1. 0

              0

You are incorrect. County court judges rarely send a case to FLW. The overwhelming majority of the time, it’s the attorney on the winning side who sends the case to FLW, which reports county cases, circuit cases, and county appellate cases heard by circuit. On most of these county court and circuit cases, the winning side prepares the order and the judge signs it. Then the attorney sends it off to FLWQ for publication. DUH yourself!!

Here is your question of the day: Since fat ATurd is blogging and eating all day, how many of his candidates will lose because he’s a totally ineffective campaign consultant?

    a) does he even have a candidate he helps
    b) 1

    e) all of them

I would have to agree with Mr. Paine.

She has an obvious ethical deficit, which may be caused by greed, or worst. Perhaps a mental evaluation is needed, as she often seems detached, and distant from issues involving critical thinking, and ethical conduct.

Ethical Deficit still better than (40) more years of Mike Satz, grand exalted prosecutorial emperor of Broward, who never met a black person he didn’t want to send to the Department of Corrections- unless of course it is an election year!! Token prosecution of police officer (who didn’t deserve to be prosecuted!!) Purple drink for all!

I agree. She’s completely nuts. She’s bad mouthed the entire defense bar on her blog along with every single prosecutor in Broward. Says everyone’s just interested in lining their bank accounts with money and not in acting in clients best interests. She hasn’t met a prosecutor in Broward who’s competent. She also feels that the Sao needs to independently investigate every single PC before making a filing decision. You know since she apparently thinks the cops are corrupt and incompetent as well. Her entire platform and campaign is a huge insult to anyone involved in the Broward criminal justice system. She thinks she’s better than everyone because she’s from Miami. Lmao. What a joke! Anyone supporting her should be ashamed of themselves.

Thank you for providing these links. After watching Benson’s braindead responses, Kushner or Mc Carthy came off best. Benson talks about her extensive trial experience but fails to ever mention she works as a Public Defender and that a complaint has been filed ( which I read as furnished on this site) for campaigning durring her regular working hours which I find to be very troubling and a bad indication of the job she would do as a judge. She also looked like she was under the influence of some sort of medication or something. Very weird.

We don’t need Judges that wouldn’t put Americans first before their own selfish desires. There are way too many Judges looking for any excuse to ditch court for a day at the beach or an ego trip speaking engagement in front of sycophant losers at Bar functions with zero paying cases looking for their own future slice of the government handouts game. Abstaining may be the best vote after careful consideration of the lazy zeroes appointed and elected in Broward.

Was Benson under some kind of medication when she did this ??? Looked very whacked out of it. You’d think with all the time she’s campaigning while she’s supposed to be giving tax payers their monies worth employed with the Public Defender’s office under Howard Finkelstein she’d be getting plenty of rest. Bad situation when you think how she’d take advantage of the position should she win. Doubt it’s going to happen though even with the obvious backing of Howard Finkelstein. Time to cut the umbilical cord to the public trough. Deep pockets are what most of these people are really looking for. When I hear them talk about their public service it makes me want to barf. Wasn’t there a meeting last year at Spechler Mediation that was attended by Spechler, Di Pietro, Mark Finkelstien and others? The topic was running Marc Finkelstien against Help Me Howard as payback for what Howard did to Nina? Could there have been talk about a guy who went to high school with Howard, a big supporter of Nina, that was willing to bankroll the Mark Finkelstien campaign? Zimmer something or other? Could there have also been a discussion about Zimmer something or other helping Dale Miller if he moved from Nina’s race.?

Did Spechler show everyone the grainy video that is allegedly shows Howard in a cadillac pulling up to the house of an alleged former drug dealer client. In the video it appears Howard is tossing a tennis ball to to the guy or the dog in the front yard?

The real question of the day is whether the person who arrived late to said meeting did so to take a picture of the building sign in sheet to memorialize the date and who was there?

Bonus point…this was the meeting where David’s possible allegation that Gretchen Cassini was the daughter in law of Mayor Joy Copper was debunked by text messages to a third party….

Howard The Fink Finkelstein opens his mouth, sends a nasty made up letter to smear someone’s rep and then that person is appointed a Broward County judge. Get over it, Howard’s BS isn’t even believed by his own office with all of them leaving faster than he can fill the positions with green kids just out of law school who don’t know their asses from their elbows. And he calls that competent representation? His attempt to spread his fake self aggrandizing message is failing faster than he can think of new ways to reinvent himself.
The Public Pretender has been exposed.

Poor Sprinkles. Formerly one of the Ross clowns and judicial henchmen under his regime, he finally lost it when he butted heads over an incident with Judge Peggy Gehl with CJ Tobin who beat CJ Ross out as Broward’s CJ and vacated his office suddenly when Tobin transferred him from the main courthouse as a judge to a satellite. Then Sprinkles quit in a huff as a BC judge. Later he sued to get his job back to no avail with a suit that resembled more the actions of a bad loser rather than on grounds that were in anyway sufficient under law. The suit in my opinion read more like a bad Carnival Act which could only be viewed as laughable. He lost of course.
Just another judicial punk that thought his office was there to serve his ends instead of serving the people of Broward.
CJ Tobin served as CJ trying to clean up the judicial flotsam that had accumulated under former Moron Ross and his group of judicial controllers and henchmen until resigning as a judge and pursuing the practice of law removing himself from a throughly corrupt and rotten judiciary that had existed under Moron Ross and Company.
Sprinkles is still smarting from being trounced and hence his continued involvement in judicial politics and politics in general trying to worm himself back into the greasy judicial fray and the perks it represents.
He often appears in pictures taken at political events with the infamous and equally wormy ATURD.
Watch for a continued can of worms as judicial politics take on an even oilier composition as the Broward Judicial Worms crawl out of hiding as business continues to shrink and these same worms all look to get on the public dole and suck at the public trough for all its worth.
It’s a dirty little game these night crawlers play for bucks.

Irene Garrett posed as a helpful bank employee alerting seniors by phone about fraud on their accounts, detectives say. Then, authorities say, she’d visit them at home to collect the compromised credit and debit cards.
And then she ripped the seniors off, siphoning their bank accounts and racking up thousands on shopping sprees, according to police reports.
Garrett’s was a bogus story that led to a real scam, authorities say. She is believed to be part of a ring of fraudsters targeting seniors in Tamarac and Lauderdale Lakes.
Garrett faces 20 charges related to theft, illegal use of credit cards and exploitation of the elderly. She was arrested Wednesday.
According to Broward Sheriff’s reports, Garrett has been linked to at least five cases that happened in May and June. In those five cases, victims were collectively bilked of more than $10,000.
In each instance, either Garrett or accomplices are accused of phoning victims, identifying themselves as fraud investigators or bank representatives and dropping by to get a hold of the bank and credit cards.
They claimed to work for Chase and Bank of America branches.
Detectives wouldn’t comment further on the cases, but arrest reports suggest Garrett had accomplices and didn’t work alone. It’s unknown how widespread the scam was or how many others were fleeced beyond the five cases linked to Garrett. A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing.
Broward County Judge Michael Davis told Garrett during her first court appearance on Thursday: “You took advantage of the most vulnerable folks of our community.”
Some of the targeted seniors were told they had to have a chip installed on their cards or have bank employees pay visits to pick up compromised cards. Others were told that if they did not cooperate criminals in custody would be let go, the reports said.
One of those targeted was Alethea Vassell, 74, in May. She said she’s lucky the encounter with the woman she believes was Garrett did not cause her any physical harm.
“When somebody comes to your house to rob you, they usually hurt you or kill you,” she said. “So thank goodness they didn’t kill me. She just took the card and used it. That was still a frightening experience.”
Vassell said she was sleeping when she got a phone call at about 11 p.m. from a woman claiming to call from Bank of America’s fraud department. The woman told Vassell a police officer was present with a suspect who had gotten into her account, and she was sending someone over with a machine to change her card’s chip.
She even gave Vassell details about the supposed criminal, including his name, date of birth and weight.
“It sounds so believable. Cop is there. She got me fooled, I got scared,” she said. “She knew my name, my telephone number, where I live, so I believed her.”
Late into the night, a woman knocked on Vassell’s door, took two or three of her credit and bank cards and promised to come back. She had a calm demeanor, but left abruptly when a friend of Vassell’s who was keeping her company came to the door and demanded to know who was there.
Within about 15 minutes, Vassell realized it was a ruse and called the cops: “What got into me to open my door at that time of night? Thank God, I’m still alive,” she said.
Surveillance images from the banks showed Garrett withdrawing money, the sheriff ’s office said. She identified herself in those photographs, detectives said. Purchases were also made at stores including Winn-Dixie and Walmart.
“She advised that there are other girls involved as well but she is taking responsibility for what she did,” the report said.
Garrett faces a $60,100 bond on the fraud charges. But she is essentially being jailed without bond for violating probation on a criminal traffic case.
Detectives offer these tips to avoid becoming a fraud victim:
    • Be wary of callers who say they are sending a bank representative to your home. Banks don’t do that.
    • If someone calls about fraudulent charges on your account, hang up and instead call the customer service number on your bank card or statement.

When Arthur Rosenberg served in Hallandale Beach, he would go out and experience the city to bring back the knowledge to the commission cham-The former mayor rode in garbage trucks, rescue trucks and police cars and had his own police scanner hooked up by his bed.
Rosenberg, who died Aug. 5 at 96, was first elected to the Hallandale Beach City Commission in 1977, serving over the years as commissioner, mayor and vice mayor until 2001.
“He was very, very involved,” said his daughter, Linda Rosenberg. “He was very proud if he helped get a street built or something fixed.”
Originally from New York City, Rosenberg and his family moved to Florida when he became executive vice president of Wometco Enterprises, a photography and broadcasting company based in Miami. He retired early and began to get involved in city politics in 1973.
Rosenberg kept piles of documents in his personal study that included the city budgets of the last decade, months’ worth of meeting agendas and manila folders bearing the names of commissioners with whom he regularly clashed.
During his time in the city, Rosenberg was known to be fiscally conservative and often challenged developers’ claims.
“He didn’t vie for the corporate thing. It was all about saving money in the city and the best use of funds,” his daughter said. “But if he could do something for someone, he would, if he could make a variance work for a small business owner or something.”
Rosenberg and his family lived in the same home in Hallandale Beach for about 45 years. Recently, he and his wife moved to a more practical space in Hollywood, his daughter said.
“He was sad to leave Hallandale,” said Rosenberg, 53. “He was so passionate about the city.”
Rosenberg said her father liked to stay active and played tennis every morning until he was well into his 80s. He also enjoyed betting on the horses at Gulfstream Park.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carole Rosenberg. He is also survived by daughters Laura, Linda and Jade, grandchildren Joshua, Danielle and Elizabeth, and great-grandson AJ.

This is the best Broward judicial candidates can come up with? No wonder the Broward Courts are such a mess. Not one of the utube presentations are worthy of note. Just looks like a bunch of losers looking for a job where they won’t be answerable to anyone. And CJ Weinstein whines continually about needing more judges in Broward. He really is the wasteful bureaucrat that everyone says he is. I’d like to know a single policy he’s introduced to make the Broward judiciary any more efficient. He certainly doesn’t do much to set a very good example by not taking a docket like other chief judges do in other circuits. What does he actually do besides gum up the works ?

You’re part and parcel of everything that’s screwed up about judicial politics Miller. Most of these condo commandos suffer from dementia so they won’t be voting for you Dale whether you’re panhandling pens with your name on it or not because they won’t remember your name. What have you done to distinguish yourself besides work as a public pretender pleading out cases? And I’d really like to know what’s going on with the investigation involving I’m told of your wife. Is that why you need this job as a judge? How does anything you’ve done as a public pretender qualify you for the position of county court judge? Better plan with poor job you did in this utube on staying put under Finkelstein’s thumb because it doesn’t look like your gamble is going to pay off. Don’t count on me voting for ANY judicial Incumbents. BROWARD County has the worst bunch of losers sitting on the bench in the nation. Most of them moved here from NY because the couldn cut it. The rest are just mediocre at best and should have to earn it. Empty courtrooms and a constant crying act from Weinstein for more judges just go to show you how lazy they are. Voters should be aware that most of these government lackies are just looking for a handout. The rest are just looking to keep their noses in the pie. Vote carefully. Know the candidates. These utube clips are invaluable. Most of them appear to be braindead idiots. Half of them look like they’re barely able to stand up unassisted. Makes you wonder what they’re on. Who is this guy?

    by BOB NORMAN
When Donna Greenberg served as executive director of the Broward Democrats, the business of running the party would usually cause her to have to visit Democratic Chairman Mitch Ceasar’s law office on Broward Boulevard in Plantation about once a week.
And once there, she says, it was always the same routine.

“He’s very predictable,” Greenberg, who was married, says of her former boss. “He would walk over, shut the blinds in his office, and close the door. Then he would come over, say ‘You look tense,’ and massage my neck. It was so weird. I was freaking out. I was like, ‘What do I do?'”

It only got worse the one time that party business caused her to have to go to Ceasar’s house in Plantation. She was there to collect photographs that were to be posted on the Broward Democratic Executive Committee website.

“He totally came onto me and tried to get me in bed,” she said.

While she sat at his computer, he told her that she looked tense and started rubbing her shoulders.

“His hands went lower and lower until I had to

say, ‘How can I relax when you have your hands down my shirt?’ I tried to make light talk because I was so nervous, and I pretended like it didn’t happen. I told him that I needed to get back to his office.”

She got up from his computer, and he walked with her toward his bedroom.

“If you lay down, I can rub your solar plexus and that will really help you relax,” she recalls him saying. “And that’s when I said I really need to go. I got out of there as fast as I could. He called me later that day and said, ‘I really am a good guy.'”

It’s never easy when the boss comes on to you. Just ask Alicia Briggs, another former Democratic executive director who also worked at the direction of Ceasar, who was divorced at the time. Briggs’ story was remarkably similar to Greenberg’s.

“I’d go to his office to meet with him and he would give me these massages that were very inappropriate,” says Briggs, an attorney. “The door was usually closed in his office, and he would come up behind me, and he would rub my neck and say I was tense, and his hands would work their way a little further down and a little further down. I would shrug it off or move away from him.

“He did that several times. I never asked him to give me a massage. He would say, ‘I’m going home and getting [in the hot tub] — would you like to join me?’ He is so egotistical that I think he really thinks that everyone wants him. It was completely inappropriate, but I had just settled into the job, and I needed the job.”

Some say it went further with other female executive directors. Another of Ceasar’s executive directors, Nadezda Stepanovic, refused to speak at length about Ceasar’s advances but said they occurred. “He is more than a handful to deal with,” said Stepanovic. “He would say, ‘You look very tired; you look like you need to relax.’ Then he would rub the back of your neck and shoulders. I would say, ‘Well, I’m really tense because you’re my boss and you need to stop rubbing my back.’ Is it appropriate? No.”

Only one of the four former party directors who spoke about Ceasar on the record, Carol Coffman, said she wasn’t propositioned at some point. To Greenberg, Ceasar’s behavior was flat-out sexual harassment. She said that at one point, she considered suing Ceasar but decided against it. She left the Democratic Party’s employ to work on the campaign of Ron Klein instead.

Greenberg said that at one point during her employment with the party, she asked for a raise from $30,000 to $40,000 from Ceasar that she assumed she wouldn’t get since Ceasar was notoriously cheap. “He gave it to me,” she said. “Either I was doing a great job or he was hoping I would keep my mouth shut.”

Briggs wasn’t quite as fortunate. She became pregnant while working for Ceasar and says that when her doctor ordered bed rest for her, he fired her.

“I was fired for being pregnant, and he wanted me to sign something that would hold him harmless,” Briggs said. “I wouldn’t do it.”

She hired lawyer Randy Fleischer — a Democratic activist who has had numerous battles with Ceasar — and threatened to sue. Eventually Ceasar and the party settled with her out of court, she said.

Briggs said that Ceasar’s wandering hands was only one example of his complete unsuitability to run the party.

“He’s just not a good person,” she said. “Anytime there was an election, anybody that dared run against him, he would literally blackball them from the party. He would have his minions make phone calls. He will stay there forever unless something happens.”

Next: How Ceasar, with the help of state party officials, ran a farcical election to retain his position as Broward’s top Democrat.

Judges are typically untalented nitwits who act mean because they think if people are afraid of them their shortcomings will not be noticeable. Holy molie. A lawyer that cannot make the equivalent of a judicial salary in private practice after 20 years when a 1st year lawyer at a large firm makes $180,000. Prominent Broward Democrat Accused of Theft Delivered 137 Absentee Ballots
    By: Tom Lauder | October 12, 2012

A Democratic Party operative charged with theft of political funds delivered 137 absentee ballots to the Broward Supervisor of Elections office in the month prior to his August arrest, public records show.

Percy Lee Johnson, former treasurer for the Broward Democratic Party’s Council of Club Presidents, was charged with felony grand theft for misusing over $2,000 of party funds. Published reports say Johnson initially refused to turn over financial records when he declined to seek reelection to his position in April of 2011. In response, the Council of Club President’s newly elected officers threatened legal action.

“When we first asked Percy for the books, we were told that we were not getting them,” Bernie Parness, former president of the Council of Club Presidents, told the South Florida Times. “We sent certified letters and threatened to go to court to get them. That’s when Percy told me he took the money and that he was so ashamed of what he had done.”

Officials formally charged Johnson with grand theft, a third-degree felony, on August 20, 2012.

A review of the absentee voter sign-in log for the August 2012 primary elections shows Johnson delivered 137 absentee ballots. He delivered 27 ballots on July 17, 2012, 17 on July 19, 42 ballots on July 27 and 26 on July 31.Between August 10 and August 14, Johnson delivered 25 absentee ballots.

A growing Broward County absentee ballot fraud scandal has convinced Democratic and Republican Party officials that immediate reforms are required. On Tuesday, Broward Mayor John E. Rodstrom, Jr. (D) brought the matter before the County Commission. Rodstrom presented evidence, gathered by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, revealing five convicted felons and one dead person voted by absentee ballot in the March 2011 and August 2012 elections.

Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes learned of the ineligible voters back in April of 2011. At Tuesday’s County Commission meeting, Snipes defended her decision not to remove the six individuals from voting rolls, blaming inaction by the State of Florida.

    d) the same as Jack Seiler
    e) they each need an entire 737 to fly

THURSDAY, MAY 20, 2010 AT 2:23 P.M. BY BOB NORMAN
The slime runs deep in Broward’s Democratic Party, which has become a cesspool of cheaters and profiteers.

And the Florida Democratic Party is nothing but a rubber stamp for the local party’s shenanigans.

It’s unfortunate but true. And the whole party needs to be cleaned out from top to bottom.

Recently Broward Democratic chief and tax dollar-sucking lobbyist Mitch Ceasar, the grand pooh-bah of the whole donkey gang, has been back to his old tricks, trying to run the Tamarac Democratic Club out of existence.

He succeeded. And Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Karen Thurman rubber-stamped it. A state party official told me they had no choice but to kill the club. It was deigned by Ceasar, after all (more on that later).

This isn’t some squabble inside the party — it’s part of a struggle between right and wrong, between integrity and dishonesty, between corruption and clean government. The dispute centers around Patti Lynn, a Democrat who doesn’t hail Ceasar and isn’t afraid to call out the party on its own corruption. Ceasar and his right-hand woman, state committeewoman Diane Glasser, have long despised Lynn, who ran against one of their favorite candidates in Tamarac, Vice Mayor Patricia “Positively Patte” Atkins-Grad (more on that later).

When Lynn was elected president of the Tamarac club, Ceasar did what he usually does in such situations. He played dirty. He claimed arcane violations of process, all of which were either false or at best dubious. Then Ceasar and Glasser tried to hold a new election and rig it by bringing in about 30 new members to the club, none of whom had attended meetings. Their fees were paid in one delivery of cash from Glasser.

Don’t take my word for it; listen to Faye Koch Kronberg, who has presided over the Tamarac club for 15 years and before that was secretary for the Davie Democratic Club. Kronberg wrote to me last month:

“I have been a staunch Democrat all of my life but what has just occurred in local Broward Democrat politics has turned me off. This is about Mitch Caesar who does not like Patti Lynn who was voted in as president of the Tamarac Democratic Chapter. [Ceasar] has made up every lie he could to

change the election date. Through Diane Glasser, he brought in 30 new applicants, not live people, paid by cash, and proposed a member for president who was a member for a year but had never attended a meeting, and then made excuses to hold off our elections for 45 days so that these new members could elect this person that had never attended a meeting. Would you call this a set up. That is exactly what it is and done by Mitch Ceasar and Diane Glasser… We have done everything according to our By-laws. I have gone to State Democratic for advice and been ignored with my e mails and phone calls.”

After all those years of service, Kronberg says she’s now ashamed of the Democratic Party. She’s 89 years old.

Ceasar then asked state leader Thurman to kill the club. She did so in a letter she signed April 22. Thurman and no other state party official conducted any investigation whatsoever. They didn’t even ask Lynn or Kronberg for an explanation.

When I saw Thurman’s letter, I tried to ask her why she would endorse such shenanigans. Instead, I spoke with Florida Democratic Party Communications Director Eric Jotkoff.

“[Thurman] had no choice,” Jotkoff told me, almost apologetically.

Jotkoff said that Ceasar’s Broward DEC has control over all the local clubs and that when Ceasar asked for the club to be terminated, the state party had no choice but to execute the order. He conceded that the state made no attempt to see if Ceasar’s allegations were true.

Ceasar, meanwhile, has been busy telling people that it was the state party that killed the club. See how that works? Harry Truman would be spinning in his grave.

Ceasar is now going after the club’s bank account, which I’m told holds a couple grand. In his April 28 letter to Wells Fargo, he played the role of innocent messenger while asking the bank to transfer the money over to the DEC.

“The Club’s existence is solely by permission of the Florida Democratic Party,” Ceasar wrote. “The funds… are to be surrendered to Broward Democratic Party.”

    Are you smelling this?

Right now, the club is shut down and the bank account is frozen. The club’s attorney, Democratic activist Randy Fleischer, who has battled Ceasar numerous times, has filed a grievance with the state party. From the grievance:

It is apparent that the decision to dissolve the club was motivated by Diane Glasser and Mitch Ceasar who failed in an attempt to improperly influence the election because of dislike of the duly elected President of the Club, Patti Lynn… It is requested that an investigation by the Florida Democratic Party be initiated to determine whether Diane Glasser or Mitch Ceasar are guilty of interfering with the Tamarac Democratic Club election as they attempted to recruit new members to the club to prevent the election of Patti Lynn as President and when that attempt failed, they made a request to Karen Thurman that the club be dissolved and the club’s funds be turned over to the Broward DEC which they control.

Just so you know the nature of Ceasar’s dislike of Lynn, understand that she’s not tied into the county’s corrupt lobbying machine (unlike Ceasar, who has parlayed his political power into lucrative lobbying jobs with several municipalities, including Tamarac).

Twice, Lynn ran against one of Ceasar’s favorites, Patricia “Positively Patte” Atkins-Grad, and lost both times with the party stacked up against her. Notably, Lynn opposed criminal developer Bruce Chait’s golf course development; Atkins-Grad supported it. Now Atkins-Grad is under investigation by the State Attorney’s Office, and no one seems to know who paid for her four-figure election-night party in 2006. Glasser ran that campaign for Atkins-Grad, so maybe she can answer the question.

Here’s what you do: Contact Karen Thurman and tell her that you want justice done. Email her at Kthurman@fladems.com, tell her you’re from Broward County and you’re sick and tired of her being a tool of Ceasar and want a full investigation conducted of all that has happened at the Tamarac Democratic Club. Her number is 850-222-3411 if you want to do it that way.

Barbara Duffy is the only candidate in Broward who is worth her salt, knows what she’s talking about, means what she says and is worthy of sitting on the bench unlike the rest of these people. I’ve known Barbara her entire career. She was born here so she’s not one of these Mutant New Yorkers who came down here running away from something up there. And there are plenty of those.
She’s also the only candidate who openly challenged a sitting judge in her YouTube video and on the campaign trail in a forthright and honest confrontation with the truth.
Watch it for yourself and you’ll see what I mean.
The rest of the candidates can’t even hold a candle to Barbara’s experience, character or intelligence.
Destry was dumbfounded at being confronted with the honest truth at this video recorded meeting of candidates.
If every candidate showed the straightforward approach to the truth that Barbara exhibits we could actually make a real change in the politically corrupt, inept and lazy club of Broward County judges who have done nothing to improve, uphold, enhance Justice or otherwise do anything except to line their own pockets at the expense of the public.
I WILL BE VOTING FOR BARBARA DUFFY FOR JUDGE AND I TRUELY WISH WE HAD MORE LIKE HER TO BUST UP WHAT HAS BECOME OVER MANY YEARS A CORRUPTED CLUB OF BROWARD JUDGES. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO DO THE SAME.

All this shows is that thia candidate has verbally attacked an incumbent judge that she doesn’t like. What does this say about her demeanor? Will she bring this rudeness to the bench? Double- edged sword!

And yes, in the unlikely event that she wins, she will have garnered herself a trip to visit with the JQC, as she has violated the judicial canons.

Benson looks like she’s so out of it most of the time what comes out of her mouth makes no sense at all. The poor girl needs to take some time off before she cracks by the looks of it.
Never seen her in court if she even goes to court but I can just imagine.
And these are the types of idiots running for judge in Broward ? Something is really wrong with this scenario. She may be the worst of the bunch but there are several close runner ups! Lol

“Professor Martin at long last deals with the Henry Gates/Cornel West attacks on Afrocentricity…. Martin provides a solid analysis of the historical use of Blacks by whites to discredit original Black thought deemed unacceptable by non-Blacks….

“I compare The Jewish Onslaught to the classic third chapter of DuBois’ The Souls of Black Folk entitled ‘Of Mr. Booker T. Washington and Others….’ Martin has written a book that years from now will be considered a classic…. It is simply a must reading on a controversial subject that needs greater airing than some of the more timid political attempts of recent years.” – Raymond Winbush, The Voice Of Black Studies

” Tony Martin has been forced to delve into the relationship between the Jews and Blacks and in the process, he has distilled a work that is informative, fascinating and one which will heighten the consciousness of Black people everywhere.” – Carl Wint, The Sunday Gleaner

MONDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2010 AT 3:26 P.M. BY BOB NORMAN
Part IV: Chairman Ceasar and the Dirty Election
[Pulp Note: At long last, here’s the next installment in the Mitch Ceasar series based almost entirely on interviews with former Democartic Party executive directors who worked directly under him. Ceasar refused comment. Here are links to Part I, Part II on his lobbying, and Part III regarding his “hands-on” management style.]

When the 2000 presidential election was stuck in Broward County and the world watched the recount, Democratic Chairman Mitchell Ceasar talked a lot about the sanctity of elections and votes.

Everyone deserves to have his or her vote counted, he said over and over again. It was a basic American right. “There are people all over this country and certainly Florida who feel that a great disservice has occurred, that their votes were not counted accurately or at all,” he solemnly told the Herald.

But when it comes to his own power base in the Democratic Party, those high ideals go out the window. Ceasar runs his party like a despotic fiefdom, say numerous party insiders, with more ballot-stuffing and vote-fixing than the worst of the old ward system in his native Brooklyn. And in one of the Democrats’ most important national strongholds, it has turned the party into a bitterly dysfunctional mess that does little to help Democratic candidates or anyone else other than Ceasar and his profiteering loyalists, like Diane Glasser, Barry Harris, and Jack Shifrel.

To understand the level of Ceasar’s hypocrisy — and the cause of so much outrage by on-the-ground Democratic activists — ask only one question:

    Where are the ballots?

During Ceasar’s contentious reelection as chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee in 2008, there were rampant allegations of election fraud against him. An official complaint was filed with the state party; affidavits were submitted alleging ballot stuffing, wrongfully banning anti-Ceasar voters, stacking the rolls with pro-Ceasar voters who weren’t qualified (some unregistered to vote, according to affidavits, some who were actually Republicans), and myriad other irregularities.

The only way to get to the bottom of that election, as any other, was to inspect the ballots and do a recount. That was the first order of business for Ceasar’s challenger in the election, former Congressman Peter Deutsch.

When the vote was over, the ballots disappeared.

“They were never returned to the office,” says Coffman. “They were supposedly sent to Tallahassee, but nobody ever saw them again. For all we know, they’re buried in Mitch’s backyard.”

Understand that the election involving several hundred committeemen and women was done in a middle-school auditorium in Tamarac — Ceasar’s political base — and the votes were counted behind a curtain that had been set up on the stage by Ceasar and his controversial allies.

So much for transparence. Ceasar’s supporters, including Barry Harris, were also seen carrying handfuls of ballots, a violation of election rules and a sign of ballot-stuffing.

Today Coffman, the former executive director working directly under Ceasar and Glasser, says the election was clearly fixed. In a sworn affidavit, she described rule-breaking by Ceasar at a number of levels:

    — Ceasar hoarded information, keeping important election-related deadlines and election meeting information from going out to DEC members.

    — As Ceasar tried to stack the precincts with friends and cronies, state Democratic official Milli Smith informed Coffman that 20 to 30 of the committee members submitted wrong information to the Supervisor of Elections. Some didn’t live in the precincts they represented, some weren’t members of the Democratic Party at all, and some were even Republicans. She said Ceasar told her he would “take care of it.”

    — In November 2008, about a month before the DEC election, Ceasar gave Coffman a list of DEC members whom he wanted “purged” from the “roster” because they were “ineligible.” Coffman said she then learned that several of those Ceasar wanted gone were eligible. “I reported each discrepancy to Chair Ceasar, showing the evidence presented to me,” Coffman wrote in the affidavit. “Chair Ceasar [said] that I was to keep them off because the State had made their ruling on the matter.” This is a recurring Catch-22 that Ceasar uses: He claims the state party is responsible while state party officials claim it is Ceasar’s jurisdiction.

    — When Coffman had what she thought was the great idea of recruiting Obama volunteers into the DEC, she made the mistake of telling Glasser about it (Ceasar’s sister, incidentally, is married to one of Glasser’s sons). Glasser told Coffman she would talk to Ceasar and get back to her on the issue. Not only did she not do that but she didn’t return any of Coffman’s calls prior to the December 7 election.

    — On December 6, 2008, the day before the election, Ceasar entered party headquarters while Coffman, Glasser, and several volunteers unknown to Coffman were getting ballots ready. Ceasar then came into the room and demanded that no ballots would be given to the purged members. Glasser disagreed, and a “disagreement with shouting ensued between Mitch and Diane Glasser.” Glasser assured Ceasar that none of the ballots would actually be counted, but she wanted to give them out to prevent “scenes.” Ceasar agreed. Interestingly, Glasser also ordered Coffman to produce 60 sets of extra ballots above and beyond the ballots produced for eligible voters. “I attended the election the next day and never saw what happened to these extra ballots and no extras were returned to the DEC office,” Coffman wrote in the affidavit.

    — On the day after the election, Coffman received a call from Peter Deutsch’s assistant, Robin Rorapaugh, asking to review the ballots. Coffman called Ceasar, who told her the ballots were probably in the trunk of Diane Glasser’s car. Coffman then called Glasser, who didn’t return the call. Then she received a call from Milli Smith of the Florida Democratic Party. “She instructed me to say that on Sunday night after the election that I saw Rhett Bullard from the Florida Democratic Party put the ballots in 3 boxes, seal them then hand them to me and that I mailed them out Fed Ex on Monday Morning,” Coffman wrote. “I responded by asking, ‘Are you asking me to lie?’ She answered, ‘Never mind,’ and then hung up.”

Understand this is just one affidavit filed regarding the election’s irregularities. There were others. Former Democratic committeewoman and state Senate candidate Linda Bird submitted a written statement explaining how she was one of the anti-Ceasar committeewomen who was kicked out of the DEC because there was an alleged problem with her required loyalty oath to the party, even though it had been accepted by the Supervisor of Elections. “Other good Democrats were removed from the Broward DEC rolls who Ceasar and Glasser suspected would vote for their opponents…,” Bird wrote. “We have pictures of people involved in stuffing the ballot box, including a picture of one of their supporters with four sets of ballots in his hand during the election. That is the most damning evidence that the Broward DEC election was ripe [sic] with election fraud.”

Democrat Phil Busey also submitted an affidavit giving firsthand information on Ceasar’s dirty tactics. An official grievance — complete with a photo-filled PowerPoint presentation — was filed last year with the Florida Democratic Party, but that was to no avail. Florida Democratic Chairwoman Karen Thurman — and other officials named in Coffman’s affidavit — at best turns the other way and, numerous sources say, is often directly complicit in the Ceasar’s shenanigans.

And Ceasar, of course, remains in power as if nothing had happened — while dozens of the most dedicated and honest Democrats in Broward County end up disenfranchised and alienated from the party.

“He’s good at making money, and that’s all,” says Coffman of Ceasar. “The party now has the lobbyist that is their chairman, and that right there causes some problems. The next person down [Glasser] also makes money [on her influence in the party]. Then you have all the other cronies making money off of it. It’s supposed to be a government thing, not a money thing. And the thing is, it is really hurting the party. I wanted to go out and make a difference in campaigns, get volunteers going. None of that happened. Nothing happened under Mitch. It’s a meeting once a month, and they make their money, and that’s it.”

Coffman says she was totally disillusioned with the party after the election and was planning on quitting, but on December 31, 2008 — New Year’s Eve — Ceasar and Glasser beat her to the punch and fired her. She says Ceasar only told her, “We have just decided to make changes.”

According to the affidavit, Glasser expounded a bit on the reason. “I can’t shut up about this,” Glasser told her. “There was too much information coming out of this office.”

And that was it. Coffman’s stint as executive director, a position she held for more than two years, was over because she had tried to follow the rules instead of playing along with the secretive and corrupt management of Ceasar and Glasser.

And those ballots? They haven’t been seen since.

    VOTE FOR ABBE RIFKIN

There’s 35 years of experience in Broward where you might try one case a month and then there’s 35 years of experience in Miami where you are trying a case every day until 9:00 at night five days a week.

When will all you morons wake up and realize that Broward is the dumping ground of the incompetent.

That’s why most of the current became judges because they didn’t want to try cases.

Only a Broward judge conducts two hours of his jury voir dire alone before one of the attorneys gets up. They think that is their shining moment, when in reality it whether they get reversed or affirmed.

    1. 0

Give me Duffy anytime over Destry or Rifkin. She’s been about the only candidate that has openly addressed issues with candor and honesty. Rifkin is just more of the same bs skirting every real issue facing judges in Broward. The only way Broward judges will begin to get it is when issues are confronted directly and they realize finally that they are going to be answerable for being some of the worst judges in the state.

Broweird: Where literally the best person they can get to be State Attorney for the last 10 election cycles is Mike “Send all the blacks to the Department of Corrections” Satz. And because he’s smart enough to put “Democrat” by his name the black voters keep sending him back to office, even though he’s the one sending them to the DOC and he’s the one prosecuting more death cases than anyone in the Bible Belt and he’s the one the Southern Poverty Law Center says “leads America” in wrongfully convicted men and women exonerated. Holy cow this county is full of dimwits. No wonder you can be a truly mediocre trial lawyer and kill it here.

    1. 0

      0

Let’s be real here. Why is the black conviction rate being blamed on Satz? Shouldn’t help me Howard get the blame for providing bad representation?

      1. 0

        0

Because Satz has been grand exalted ruler of the county for four decades, is charged with unbridled discretion which he doesn’t let his lawyers use, and has never met a PTI agreement he doesn’t reject. It’s an incredibly obtuse take to blame it on anyone but Satz and his office, which largely features overwhelmed lawyers from midgrade law schools that don’t have any discretion to help even when they feel bad. That’s why his best lawyers, save five or six, all become defense attorneys or leave for private practice.

Meanwhile, Finkelstein, for all his Princess Bride tendencies, is largely correct: well-respected civil rights organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center think Satz has done enough damage, leading the SOUTH in death row inmates exonerated, death penalty cases sought and wrongful conviction rate.

As noted elsewhere- it is no wonder you can be a mediocre defense attorney in this county and make big money.

    Chairman Ceasar and “the Game”

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2010 AT 2:44 P.M. BY BOB NORMAN

While Nedezda Stepanovic says that while she served as executive director of the Broward County Democratic Party, Chairman Mitch Ceasar explained to her how he makes his money.

“He said, ‘When I get people elected into a city, those people owe me, and they owe me by giving me the city lobbying contracts,'” Stepanovic recalled. “I said, ‘What is that?’ He said, ‘Each city needs to have lobbyists, and if I help them get elected, I get those contracts.’ I said, ‘How are you guaranteed that?’ He said, ‘That’s how it goes.'”

Another former Democratic executive director who worked under Ceasar, Donna Greenberg, described a similar conversation, only she said Ceasar called it “the game.”

And there is no doubt that the game has been very, very good to Ceasar. Over the years, he has made hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers’ money from contracts in which he was supposed to use his influence to help curry favor of the Democrat-controlled county government for the cities.

The 56-year-old Brooklyn-born Nova Law School graduate has had contracts in Miramar, Hallandale Beach, Davie, Wilton Manors, Deerfield Beach, and other cities. But his bread and butter is in Tamarac, where he has long ties and founded the now-defunct Tamarac Democratic Club some 35 years ago.

It was there that Ceasar played a rather devious behind-the-scenes role in the now-notorious 2006 election, according to Greenberg, who was working with Ceasar at the time as the party’s executive director.

Ceasar quietly backed Beth Talabisco and Patricia Atkins-Grad over Democrats who were running against them, said Greenberg. Of course, it’s not good form for the leader of a party to choose sides among the party faithful, but Ceasar supported Talabisco over Democrats Mae Schreiber and Karen Roberts and backed Atkins-Grad over his arch-enemy, Patti Lynn, a dedicated Democrat who complained of corruption inside the party.

Greenberg, who was running the party at the time, said that when a mysterious PAC put out $21,000 worth of attack ads out on Roberts and Schreiber the weekend before the election, Ceasar acted as if he was outraged by it. But she said that Barry Harris, one of Ceasar’s chief cronies and an area leader, said that Ceasar had himself approved the attack.

We know now that the attack was orchestrated by Harris and financed by dirty developers Bruce and Shawn Chait, who had two subcontractors finance the ads. The PAC is now at the center of a criminal investigation of Mayor Talabisco, who won the election.

“I didn’t know at the time, but I found out [that Ceasar was supporting Talabisco],” said Schreiber, who was one of the targets of the attack ads. Schreiber, along with her husband, Joe, a former Tamarac commissioner, has known Ceasar for years. “Nothing is secret here. I heard it from the grapevine. At the time, I said, ‘That’s ridiculous — I don’t believe it.’ I think Mitch Ceasar is only out for Mitch Ceasar. All he has to do is say one word and it gets done. People think he’s a god.”

After the election, Greenberg said that Ceasar explained the importance of getting both Atkins-Grad and Talabisco elected.

“He said that now that he had Atkins-Grad and Talabisco in there, his lobbying contract with Tamarac would be renewed,” she said. “I asked him about it, and he said, ‘That is how the game works.’ He said he was guaranteed the contract now. That was pretty bad.”

Sure enough, Ceasar’s contract was renewed in Tamarac, one of the last cities that still employs his services. But with Atkins-Grad suspended from office after being charged with crimes of corruption over her dealings with the Chaits and Talabisco under investigation for the PAC, he could lose his support there too.

Never have close former Democratic officials spoken on the record of Ceasar’s personal boasts about the corrupt cycle that keeps public money flowing into his bank account, but questions about his practices have dogged Ceasar, who has chaired the party since 1996, for years. From a 2003 Miami Herald article:

“[I]nterviews and public records in three other cities Ceasar represents reveal similar complaints: that he lobbies the public officials he represents on behalf of private clients, exaggerates his achievements, provides scant detail about his work, and brings in few new grants… Yet Ceasar continues to win raises and new contracts, raising questions about whether the mostly Democratic city officials who vote to hire the party chairman are looking out for their municipalities or their political hides. Ceasar could help them raise campaign money — or recruit candidates to run against them.”

It’s so obviously dirty, but in Broward County, nobody has managed to stop Ceasar. An attempt in 2008 led by former Congressman Peter Deutsch came close, but numerous Democratic sources say that Ceasar cheated his way to victory.

Next in the Ceasar series: Another former party executive director tells how Ceasar retained power by breaking the rules — and how she lost her job for trying to follow them.

Nina Weathetly said nothing when asked, of course, no curiosity, no thought, no wonder … or she’s not allowed to ask, or she can’t think – at all? Or she can’t speak for herself so David di Pietro issues demands and threats. Maybe Nina Weatherly di Pietro thinks it’s all part of the usual day to day – becsuse she’s used to this, a stunted puppet – or because she, without morals or compassion, knows it all.

She thinks the private bar is greedy pigs and the state is in cahoots with the private bar to make money. Someone else wrote that she’s two faced and sells her own clients out. Whoever wrote that is right – also right that – she’s going to turn broward into a third world country. Everyone arm yourselves now because street justice will be all you can get if she wins. Put your houses for sale and get outta dodge like how she got out of Miami.

Why does Dale Miller say he is married? I thought he divorced his wife. So he forgot to mention that his loving wife if serving 15 years prison. Seems disingenuous to me.

Why did Richards not show? Is he trying to not let people know that he is Black? Seriously, disgusting.

Do you know who is singing this? Is it David Di Pietro or one of his friends?

      NO RESPONSE –

How much does Nina di Pietro know and for how long has she known? She must have known enough and for long enough to have absolutely no curiosity, no questions, and no response about an email and a question about the suddenly singing David di Pietro, recorded at an event that she did not attend.

Nina Weatherly (then, soon after, ignorantly, Nina Weatherly Di Pietro) seems to let David Di Pietro control her, from finances (since dating/living together, he is cheap and controlling), to opinions, to her already shameful attitude and ethics. She’ll take what she can. From him. From anyone. He knew he could control her for a long time because he allegedly used his voyeuristic means to make sure she’d be naive, superficial and compliant … And it seems he still doesn’t respect her privacy. Nina di Pietro might take orders from David di Pietro. But he cannot control me … Not now, not ever. Understood?

It’s true. Each issue that temporarily shut down the site so happened to be when the accusations about lawyers who used to go to Nova came up. I remember years ago, on blogs from this site that aren’t here anymore, that at least one post or more specifically pointed it out.

Someone please explain this for someone who is too involved with their sex toy to listen to the clip. In 2012 David was not married to Nina, correct? Who was he spying on and where? What does this have to do with Nina? What affiliation or link does David have to Nova or the law spies? He went to Nova law school many years ago. What the hell is all this stuff?

    1. 0

      0

In 2012 they were already married.
      Did you read the information?
It’s easy to understand if you read the details of the website.
In 2012 Nina Weatherly di Pietro was asked to identify a singing voice as David di Pietro’s or a friend. She either had no interest, thought or concern about the question or the two seconds of singing or didn’t know how to answer or wasn’t allowed to respond. Strong woman. David di Pietro spoke for her by telling the person asking the question that she had better not contact him, his colleagues or his family again.
The only question asked was if the two seconds of singing is David or maybe someone else.
      It seems it’s David.
Also on the Nova Law Spies site – I’m not sure why that’s the name, maybe because that’s the place he learned to do these things or was accused of doing these things or was friends with people who do these things – is his entire conversation from which this two seconds of singing was copied in order to attach to the questioning email. In this conversation (not sent in the emails), in which he knew he was being taped he talked about a girl he watched and heard through illegal means and then around two minutes into the conversation he sings a teenaged girl’s song that he heard when he was not physically present but was secretly watching her and listening to her.
It seems that’s not all he did to her.
This is all on the site along with the question posed about why someone would be so terrified of a two second recording, of someone asking him and others questions about it and why Nina Weatherly seemed entirely unmoved by the question and two second recording – was it due to her precise knowledge of what the singing is about, or due to her being controlled, or due to her lack of thought, curiosity or insight.
Do you know David di Pietro? Did you ever hear David di Pietro sing? Did you ever hear him sing in the middle of a conversation like life is a musical?
I think the main point of it is that these are cowardly people who used to boast about but now try to hide their horrendous behavior and that at least one of them still uses computer and email hacking and wire taps and that this behavior has severely harmed people for many years.
      It’s all on the site.
If you are truly interested read the information on the site because I doubt anyone else would explain to you anything else that is right there.

Don’t you know? It was a tracking device in his car he found and put in his house and poof it was gone. He claims someone followed him with the same car every day, everywhere, for so long, and spied on him all the time, and had a tracking device in his car, and David di Pietro found it and took it to his house but within minutes it was taken from him, from inside his house, and of course in all of this neither David di Pietro nor Nina L. Weatherly di Pietro contacted law enforcement (guilty people don’t…). He waited to be fired from his job and to “quit” before the (obviously losing) appeal and then suddenly he started saying these things to anyone who’d listen. But who in the media wouldn’t follow up? Everyone? Because no one cares? Because he’s a nobody? So is he paranoid, insane, a liar, afraid of law enforcement? And who is Nina Weathetly di Pietro? A criminal? An accomplice? An immature, unthinking child?

    Chairman Ceasar and “the Game”

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2010 AT 2:44 P.M. BY BOB NORMAN

While Nedezda Stepanovic says that while she served as executive director of the Broward County Democratic Party, Chairman Mitch Ceasar explained to her how he makes his money.

“He said, ‘When I get people elected into a city, those people owe me, and they owe me by giving me the city lobbying contracts,’” Stepanovic recalled. “I said, ‘What is that?’ He said, ‘Each city needs to have lobbyists, and if I help them get elected, I get those contracts.’ I said, ‘How are you guaranteed that?’ He said, ‘That’s how it goes.’”

Where can one find this nova law spies site? All that can be found is a page with sound clips. Is there an actual website with content other than the sound clips? I still just don’t understand how David got his hands on sophisticated surveillance equipment and with this equipment he allegedly spied on various females in their homes? What the hell is the point to all of this? Why the hell would Nina care?

This Nova Law Spies Ju Jitsu is a brilliant move by AN to distract folks from Nina’s shortcomings and make her opposition look rabidly insane.

That’s funny. At first glance. The person who posts the site seems disturbed in her assumptions and allegations. Or maybe she’s afraid or trying to help people and didn’t have the time or ability to write a polished site. But on this site, there are possibilities and questions, like when you read and listen to someone getting very defensive about a really silly question (is this your voice) to the point he says he and colleagues and family should never be contacted and ends with the word “Understood?” He seems to be trying to hide something and seems to be threatening someone. Also, the site clearly has a recording with people talking about hacking into someone’s computer while David di Pietro is part of this and in the room but busy on the phone talking about someone, perhaps a victim or perhaps the person who does the hacking with him. Makes you wonder.

I wonder what this situation would look like if professional journalists, from TV shows, newspapers or magazines would do their research and tell the story. It might be very interesting, and informative, too. We might get to know all the allegations alluded to, but not exactly told, on that site.

              0

I’d be really interested to know the entire situation. I wonder who in Florida or elsewhere has the intelligence, courage and stamina to research all of it and produce an amazing story.

                0

You want the whole story? I don’t think anyone in Florida is qualified to get it, or wants to be. It’s obvious there’s more facts but I doubt anyone here has a minute to ask for or find them. The thing is, I bet there’s so much information – facts, recordings, messages – to give for research (and l to save lives?). It’s so easy.

                  0

Yeah, in Florida they’re like “Oh, David di Pietro says he was followed and spied on… (Weirdly, for years, these were the same allegations made against him)…Okay, cool, we don’t care to know if it’s true or not, or if he’s only saying this now because he’s in trouble, next story, we don’t care, we’re bored, we’ll print this because it’s available then we’ll have a break for a bit, we won’t research, ask questions, or go further. Who cares.”

Shortcomings? What shortcomings? How could she have any shortcomings? She was barely out of law school, only a lawyer a few years, and with almost no experience and fired from her job for being ignorant and unethical, she was appointed, without any vote or seemingly any study about her, over many seasoned and respected lawyers. What shortcomings? How could she have shortcomings? She was given this job though her former boss explained serious problems with her work, ethics ad behavior. Why would someone with shortcomings be given this job? How could she have shortcomings? You must be joking. She’s perfect and will tell you so. What do you mean by shortcomings?

If you can do better, than do so.

The problem is this is State Court. We get what we pay for. Low pay = low performers. That’s number 1.

2nd, there are no background checks as in Federal Court, so the (fill in the blank) challenged can still get through.

3rd, the law is the Governor gets to pack the JNCs with his people, so if owed a favor and an R, this is where the payback comes.

Stop complaining or start making changes. The only people with time to play political games day and night are those that don’t have any business or already work in government. They will never do a Federal thorough background check because it would disqualify 90% of the tricksters that play politics. Decent law firms pay $180,000 a yr for feshman lawyers, meaning talented people won’t be interested in judicial pay unless its partner money and that will never be the case.

Let the little people have their bully pulpits beating up on Blacks all day and understand they will be judged some day too.

Things are worse than ever with this Governor Scott. He took the 5th like a hundred times. If Florida was stupid enough to elect a man like that two separate times then there’s no grousing allowed when he puts people like him everywhere.

        2. 0

          0

I have always believed background checks were the best way to fix the problems with Florida Judges. The JNC method is a scam and likely the JNC members themselves couldn’t pass a real vetting either.

    Chairman Ceasar, the Introduction
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2010 AT 3:35 P.M. BY BOB NORMAN

In the middle of a huge election season in arguably the most important Democratic county in America and the party chairman is nowhere to be found. In addition to a slew of local races, the Democrats have big contests involving Alex Sink, the Democratic nominee in the governor’s race; Congressman Kendrick Meek in his Senate bid; and incumbent U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, who is fighting for his political life against Allen West.

Yet little to nothing has been heard from the party, except some recent photos that show Ceasar’s second in command, Diane Glasser, and other party leaders schmoozing with Meek opponent Charlie Crist.

Even the corresponding secretary for the Democratic Executive Committee, Alex Johnson, is dumbfounded.

“Where is the Democratic Party?” asks Johnson. “Obviously, it’s critically important that we get a Democratic governor. Ron Klein is in a fight. There is some work to be done, but there is no call to arms.”

One might think that Ceasar, who is in his 14th consecutive year running the party, should have a well-oiled machine by now. But his reign has been marked by inaction, low funds, dissension, allegations of vote-rigging, influence peddling for lobbying contracts, and rampant corruption in Democrat-controlled Broward County government.

So where is Ceasar? Well, last night he was at the Sunrise City Commission meeting lobbying for red-light camera company American Traffic Solutions. He was part of a lobbying team that also included Alex Heckler and George Platt (ATS won the contract after a 4-1 vote). Ceasar can also be found occasionally in Tamarac and other cities where he has gotten lobbying contracts from some of the same politicians he has backed as party chairman.

Ceasar was looking out for Ceasar, which is what those familiar with him say is what he does best. The more appropriate question, though, may be: Who is Mitch Ceasar?

To find that out, I decided to ask some people who know him and his work best. Here are some quotes from four knowledgeable sources.

    — “He is really one of the most unsavory characters I’ve ever met in my life. He doesn’t care about the party. Mitch only cares about Mitch.”

    — “To me, he’s a cancer. I think he’s the stem of where your cancer grows, and then it spreads out to the little cities, to the county, to whoever he decides to pursue.”

    — “He’s cheap, he’s deceitful, he uses his minions to spy on people. He talks about these things in the office; he sends his spies out. He’s a master of the game plan… I am an independent now, it made me so sick.”

    — “I really believed that the Democratic Party was better, that it was really grass-roots, that it cared about people. I didn’t know it was all about special interests. Now I do.”

Inside, see who uttered these words and what else they had to say.

All four quotes came from past executive directors of the Broward Democratic Party whose job was to run the party, to manage its day-to-day activities, and to answer to Chairman Ceasar.

The first quote came from Alicia Briggs, an attorney who worked as executive director of the Democratic Party under Ceasar in 1999 and again in 2001.

The second came from Nadezda Stefanovic, who worked for Ceasar as executive director from 2003 to 2005 and now is employed at the AFL-CIO.

The third came from Donna Greenberg, who was the party’s director from June 2005 to June 2006. “It was very unpleasant,” said Greenberg. “The fun part was meeting all the politicians; the unpleasant stuff was dealing with Mitch.”

And the fourth quote came from Carol Coffman, the party’s executive director from 2006 to 2008. “I was a political virgin, so to speak, when I came in there, and I left so scarred that I am going to become an independent,” she said.

They worked for Ceasar a combined eight years, and all four left with a profound distaste for the man. They invariably described Ceasar as a reprehensible person who left them disillusioned with the party. They spoke of his breaking rules to keep his stranglehold on party power, of his using his influence with Democratic officeholders to keep his government lobbying contracts, and three of the four said he had a disturbing habit of touching them inappropriately while under his employ.

I contacted Ceasar’s office twice, leaving detailed messages about the content of the allegations made against him. He didn’t return the calls and abruptly hung up the phone when I contacted him last week.

This is the first in a series of posts on Ceasar based on the interviews with the four directors. In all, I contacted five former executive directors who have worked for Ceasar in the past 11 years. Only one — Sunrise Commissioner Sheila Alu, who is now in the midst of a reelection campaign — refused to comment about Ceasar (Alu, incidentally, was the lone “no” vote against the red-light camera contract).

Coming next: Revelations about Ceasar’s lobbying contracts and his alleged involvement in the Tamarac races of 2006 that are now under investigation by the State Attorney’s Office.

What you say is true. The PDs office is losing some of its best attorneys due to the way it’s being administered. What and why they are doing what they are doing is anyone’s guess, but they sure aren’t around to even ask. It’s bad news these days. And if you were to actually find anyone to ask, you’re not going to be around very long either. I heard 6 or 7 more attorneys left yesterday. That’s in addition to the 30 or more over the last 6 months or so.

At least 38 false or questionable murder confessions have been thrown out by Broward County courts, rejected by juries or abandoned by police or prosecutors since 1990, The Herald has found.

In the first comprehensive review of murder confessions in South Florida, The Herald found repeated examples of illegal interrogation, coercive questioning and flawed fact-checking. In at least six cases, innocent people languished in jail while likely killers escaped detection.

The review comes as a federal judge weighs the case for releasing Timothy Brown, imprisoned since 1991 in the murder of a Broward sheriff’s deputy, convicted solely on the strength of a confession that may be false.

In case after case revisited by The Herald, Broward homicide detectives:

    • Jailed people for confessions that were wrong on such basic facts as the year of the crime, the city, the name of the victim or the weapon used. Among them: Antwoin Ricks, who confessed in 1997 to killing a man in Pompano Beach. Broward sheriff’s detectives charged him and a codefendant, Lamonda Giles, with a murder in Dania Beach. The men were cleared a few days later.

    • Took illegal confessions from people who had asked for attorneys or had invoked their right of silence. In 1998, murder suspect Pui Kei Wong told Hollywood detectives through an interpreter, ”I don’t want to talk.” Detectives continued to question him. A judge threw out the confession.

    • Gained confessions from suspects who were in no condition to confess. When Moshe Bitoun confessed to the Fort Lauderdale police in 1997, he was high on morphine and didn’t know what day it was. A jury acquitted Bitoun.

    • Took questionable murder confessions from the homeless, from boys as young as 15 and from men with a mental age as low as 7. Jerry Frank Townsend, with an IQ of 58, confessed falsely to murders in Broward, Miami-Dade, Tampa and San Francisco.
