Bill, do you know the process and timetable to protest the appointment of individuals as senior judges.

The last time an application had to be submitted to the 4th. Then the Fourth issued notice of the names of the applicants and the timetable to file a protest.

    Thank you,

This is not posted by Gary Kollin. It is someone who wants to make Kollin look like a fool for publicly posting this rather than making a phone call.

In 2008, thirteen years ago, Kollin wrote to the Judicial Qualifications Commission and filed a formal complaint against then Circuit Judge Jorge Labarga which complaint was rejected. Labarga went on to become a Florida Supreme Court Justice.

Ha, so it turns out whoever this Kollin guy is – is just full of hot air then?!

Makes sense – he coulda called or texted his Q but instead he comes off as a brown nosing fool by posting his query here w his name.

He’s not coming back, he is currently disbarred.
Can’t even practice law let alone be a judge.

BROWARD COURTS CAN DO BETTER FOR CHIEF JUDGE THAN A CLOWN WITH SYNAPTIC DISSONANCE – A SCHERER MOLE – POLITICAL PIMP AND A NETWORKING NITWIT

He can’t even come back (thankfully) as a Sr to try cases because the voting public rejected him. He should have retired when a better man like Judge Odom who served his country as a Marine made it known he wanted the judicial seat that Bailey disgraced with his JQC judgement against him. Bailey and all the JQC Judges should retire when they have the chance because they not only ruin their own reputations with JQC judgement behavior but they also spit in the eye of all the decent Broward citizenry they work for.

It’s a demanding job. But it doesn’t pay well. Only poorly performing attorneys would accept such low pay. The combination of unsuccessful lawyers and the demands of the job often equates to the problems seen by the JQC. The answer is clear. Raise judicial officer pay to a living wage. Attracting successful people to such an important job is mission critical to the health and welfare of society. Florida lags behind most other states in pay for the judiciary. Getting what is paid for is ok for a patron of Dollar Tree. For sitting in judgement of others that maxim is unacceptable.

To many the pay is a windfall.
There are many terrible law schools that will let anyone in. One of those drinking bird toys could pass the bar exam because it’s too easy.
        There’s too many bad attorneys.

Med schools graduate like 40-50 per class, law schools a couple thousand. Is it any wonder dilution of smarts & over-saturation takes place. Still, the sharp Legal Eagles cash in & the ones that don’t – the prize is, or was, yours for the taking. We’re all equal at graduation.

But then why should the Bench be open to people from the loser schools. There’s too much at stake. Why isn’t it prudent to only allow access to those from UF or FSU or higher?

Nova is ranked #147-193. University of Memphis is #144. It’s where Chief went. Meaning if Nova is closer to the #147 than the #193, that the Chief still is smarter than most of the Broward judiciary he supervises.

There are judges in Broward who failed the Bar several times …
And you wonder why there are so many goons on the bench ?

Nova has produced more JQC Judges than probably any school in history and Scotty Rothstein. I always giggle when they use Nova Professors for ethics quotes in the newspapers on legal issues. It’s totally crazy. The Nova lawyer should be barred from holding judgeships.

Nova is named after the man who invented a salted fish. Stetson is named after the man who invented a nice hat. Stetson is ranked #111 and is a much better school than the salted fish factory ranked at #147-193.

According to the JQC, Bailey had denied an earlier motion that claimed he should be disqualified for being condescending, sarcastic and intemperate with the defense attorneys, and for reprimanding one of them for whispering in their co-counsel’s ear during a hearing.

The JQC investigative panel alleged that the judges behavior violated five canons of the Florida Judicial Code of Conduct and warrants a public reprimand.

In a stipulation filed , judge Bailey agreed and accepted full responsibility.

Kaplan would be done if he was up in 2022, but 5 years is a long time for voters to forget.

Kaplan has been in dv wayyy to long. This is a division that a responsible chief judge would rotate often. In light of the nature of the cases it is only a matter of time tragedy strikes. At least with rotation the odd decrease.

            0

He can’t rotate half of them. They’ve been stuck in a single assignment for 10, 15, years. They’re useless now.

He is ruining the golden Kaplan name! Kaplan is always a sure winner- unless the candidate is insane, a drug addict, or a wife beater.

Michael Kaplan is a gentleman of the first degree. As someone who appeared before him as a respondent I witnessed first hand what justice is all about. He does his best with the broken laws of domestic violence. If he has proof that the petitioner is lying he will not issue a restraining order. He is just like his father Stan Kaplan fair and he follows the law. He does not invent the law like some of the cheap imitation of the law judges we have here in Broward.

If we the public could say this court behavior was isolated with Judge Kapla it would be a lie. For an unknown reason bias against abused abused women somehow became ‘the flavor of the month’ in Florida. I lost my daughters life over it. She lost her son. Story after story in Florida. Its time to show the Goodolboy the door in courts.

Since Schwartzreich couldn’t get his wife elected as a judge in Broward twice, he goes overboard sucking the azz of those that made it. Its a common thread with Eric. While most suck it, he takes it to an entirely new meaning. He’s destined to remain a smalltime fish in a cesspool of judge junkies with that fake tan and groveling attitude.
