Governor Graham RIP. Here’s a nice picture I saw online from 1978 with the Governor and Harvey Gluckin in the background.

I remember this day. Glummy had authored and pushed through a bill that Mike had wanted categorizing skateboarding as a felony, with an enhancement to a PBL if the offender possessed cannabis while doing it. Governor Graham had signed off that day and given everyone involved souvenir Bic 4 color retractable pens that had been used to make the bill law.

Very sad news about The Allman Brothers Dickie Betts joining Senator Graham and Herbie Gloknik in Heaven. Dickie was a South Florida boy and childhood chum of Herbie. Herbie had been the bassist in a band with Dickie but had chosen film school over music. Who knows. He may have been an Allman Brother in addition to all his other achievements.

The word is Pryor gets removed after the deadline and Ronny appoints a competent replacement to save that sorry ass office. Broward needs the idiots removed and Pryor is at the top of that list.

DeSantis is enough of a Nazi fascist to do something like that. He would love to appoint everyone and not let the people choose. I don’t doubt it. He is that vile and low.

Harold is the BEST! He would actually make a FANTASTIC President. The SA staff loves working with HP. He’s the GREATEST BIG Boss in the courthouse.

This’s ironic cause if she’s found in violation of anything then a JQC Judge would be replaced by a Bar disciplined lawyer.

I agree about the money. But there’s still plenty of lazy people out there. It’s a half day job. Why don’t they knock her out.

LOL. Salary is nearly $200K with great health insurance and pension after vesting. So, by normal process of elimination we know the pay cut comment can’t be coming from an ASA or PD. It also isn’t coming from most criminal defense lawyers. And decent civil lawyers aren’t reading this blog. In fact the average lawyer salary in Florida is $98,341 so this is double. Ironically these blog complainers whine well but none even have the money to pay a $7700 filing fee. Typical blog BS.

That average is weighted down by the sheer number of Government attorneys.
What’s the average for private practice attorneys?

They are struggling, having to sell everything they have ever worked for and retiring with no benefits. They have spent years making no money, no pension, sky high health insurance rates, and will have to learn to live on a small social security check.

            2. 2

              0

This is why most judges are from either SAO, PD or criminal. Most civil lawyers can not afford to take such a pay cut. They make less than $200k.

Renatha Francis is the MAGA Justice that voted against allowing the Abortion Constitutional Amendment on the ballot.

Her topic: WOMEN AND THE LAW

    THIS WOMEN IS DISGUSTING!!!

    REALLY? South Broward Bar Ass.

How can anyone pro-choice stomach this event?

ENCOURAGE ALL YOU KNOW TO VOTE TO NOT RETAIN THIS MAGA NUT JOB.

    PROTEST TOMORROW OUTSIDE THE VENUE.

    1. 7

      0

Interestingly enough, the Florida Supreme Court is comprised of four men and three women and ALL the men voted to keep the amendment on the ballot, and ALL the women voted to keep it off. But what you fail to recognize is the vote had nothing to do with their personal opinion of the amendment. The three no votes are based on the bill summary containing numerous vague and ambiguous terms such as “viability”. All the sponsor has to do is define the terms as is required by law.

You have every right to protest a speaker. But to not understand why you are protesting and to encourage others based on your own failure to read and digest this opinion is all too common and it’s wrong. Unfortunately, this is the way now. Hopefully you are not a lawyer because while your protest might work out at the event, it won’t work in a courtroom.

      1. 2

        3

So what you are saying is the majority does not know the law, got it wrong and should not be lawyers?

Francis is MAGA. Hopefully you are not a lawyer to advance such a naive position. I’m afraid you do not understand.

        1. 6

          1

Your ability to understand an argument is quite poor. Both the majority and dissent wrote well. Both arguments have merit. Your contention is “How can anyone pro-choice stomach this event?” And that is where your argument fails. There is nothing to indicate that the majority is pro-choice. There is nothing to indicate the dissent is not pro-choice. The two opinions are based on whether the wording of the amendment properly informs the voters. You might recall—although I doubt it since you’re clearly a narcissist—there have been amendments before where the voters weren’t sure whether a yes vote actually meant no, and vice versa. That’s why there should be no ambiguity in the words.

I’m not defending Justice Francis. I’m defending the role of the Court. Whether she is MAGA can be fine for your protest, but to actually draw from that opinion that the men are pro-choice but the women are not is more than what you’ve called me (naive), it’s moronic.

          1. 2

            4

I’m sorry for you to believe “viability “ is a vague term only in Florida. All other states that passed the C amendment did not have a problem with the term. You should vote to retain her and while you’re at it, vote for DJT. You obviously have a Forest thru the trees problem if you don’t understand English.

            1. 6

              0

Of course it’s vague! That’s nearly the whole point of over fifty years of abortion law. In some states it’s 6 weeks LMP. In others it’s 15 weeks LMP. Those are just two examples. In Amendment 4 there is no definition. Do you even know whether you want to vote Yes or vote No to get the pro-choice result you want? And if there is no definition, let’s say this amendment passes; can’t the legislature then make the viability threshold whatever they want since there is no definition? The irony is that a definition would HELP your position, but you’re too blind to see it. Here’s the language:

“No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s health care provider. This amendment does not change the Legislature’s constitutional authority to require notification to a parent or guardian before a minor has an abortion.”

              1. 2

                0

How many abortions are truly to protect a woman’s life vs a woman that had unprotected sex and an abortion is now her method of birth control?

    2. 1

      1

Interestingly, you will call someone who respects life disgusting while you glorify the killing of babies and the trauma for women abortion has caused . It’s a clown world indeed. 🤡

        1. 3

          1

If you are a woman, it’s your responsibility to protect your uterus. Think about birth control as a responsible adult woman instead of dismemberment of a innocent baby as a form of birth control. During the procedure does women think about what their baby is feeling as it’s spine is being severed, it’s skull is being crushed or it’s having its limbs cut off?

          1. 1

            0

You are so ignorant. Also- they want to do away with birth control next. The government should stay out of women’s health care.

            1. 1

              0

If you want the government to stay out of women’s health care then I guess we can all stop trying to get the government to make abortion legal.

              1. 0

                0

How about the government gets out of regulating women’s healthcare? You absolute ignorant old man. The only solace is that the majority of people that think like you are dinosaurs that will be dying soon. I can’t wait until the next generation is actually in charge and all your stupid Christian fascist government ideas die with your boomer generation.

                1. 1

                  0

First of all I’m a woman, not an old man. Secondly, I was intelligent enough to protect myself when having sex until I was ready for a child, unlike some little idiots that don’t worry about pregnancy because you can always kill your baby with an abortion. Third, last but not least I’ve forgotten more than this younger generation will ever know.

That is a tough call. Not Pollock or Diaz. Diaz is awful and rude but cant ruin anyone’s lives horrifically in JV court the way the varsity jerks can. You left off O’Connor, Aleman and Holmes.

That list should be five times as long with all the bad judges we’ve had in Broward. And there are and were even worst offenders.

The list is way longer than that.
Cathouse Cindy certainly has an honorable place among those judges that graced the Broward Judiciary with their hypocrisy and hubris.

Hey, being a county judge for somebody like Bob Diaz has meant bringing in big bucks ! Where else could a guy of such limited talent and even less intelligence make a living doing the same thing day in and day out ? He found his niche crawling around on all fours being a mediocre bureaucratic bum making the best of things. He never had it in him to be a trial lawyer or much else. You’ve got to feel sorry for the guy, but you reap what you ultimately sow and this dude was a bad seed from the beginning.

The last of Sweaty Bob ! Good thing. He’s been a gross example of everything that’s wrong with Broward’s Judicial scene!
