Direnzo never had any business heading that unit. She has single handedly spoiled any hope for true reform in Broward. Pryer is a misguided clown. 🤦🏾

He should win easy with the name. Isn’t his Pops Jim Stork? The former Mayor of Wilton Manors? That’s a ton of votes right there.

There’s a lawyer named Stork too. Or used to be. Storkie was his nickname. From New York. Storkie from New Yorkie. He had a dog.
A Yorkie. Storkie from New Yorkie with his Yorkie. Storkie eventually got disbarred.
              He was a crackhead.

Storkie had a hollowed out 1982 statute book he used to smuggle his works into the courthouse. The old styled xray machines weren’t sensitive enough to detect. Storkie nodded out once during jury instructions.

Storkie died when his Pinto was rear ended by a transport bringing cars for snowbirds from New Jersey to Century Village. It was very sad. He had kicked about 6 mos before and had stayed clean. Then tragedy. The tank blew up because it was an older Pinto. Storkie would’ve had a hell of a case if he’d lived.

Usually a person goes to an incumbent Judge and says you know , would you mind if I run there? If you’re retiring? Like a respectful thing, you know? But did Judge Diaz have any idea this was brewing for her? Did she say you know, you should know about this? Did she tell him?

This is the stupidest thing I’ve heard today. There’s no protocol for filing in a seat and telling the sitting judge that you think he’s retiring so you’re running in his seat. Diaz obviously was NOT running again, she knew it and she made up her mind to run in his seat. Ileana did not force him out. Further, the bar complaint was filed this week. Ileana probably didn’t know the bar was going to find probable cause, so why would she mention it to Diaz. So your assumptions make no sense at all.

The sooner we see the last of that idiot Diaz the better. Undoubtedly one of the worst judges Broward has ever seen.

Seriously? There was a Civil lawsuit. There was a prior complaint. It was ongoing. She was on notice it was before the Grievance Board. How could she not know there was a chance Probable Cause would be found? And the first to file in an open seat always speaks with the Judge first. Always.

Wrong. Not always! It’s not protocol. Why would a judge who’s retiring at the end of their term need to be consulted as to who is running in their open seat? And how do you know Almeida didn’t tell him that she was running in his seat???

What about the three other judges? Were they consulted? No, they weren’t. It’s just not a thing. And why the concern for Diaz and not the other three judges?

No one should let a possible bar complaint stop them from furthering their career. The complaint is not a serious matter. Yes, it’s poor lawyering but it doesn’t have to automatically stop someone from running. She’ll have to deal with the complaint during the campaign and after. It’ll be embarrassing and reflect poorly on her character.

A better question is whether she will return her campaign contributions timely after withdrawing

I’m just glad Diaz is retiring. It’s about time. No one likes him, he treats people badly, he falls asleep during trial, he is not smart at all, he is just useless. His sense of self importance is laughable, considering he has zero talent.

Saw him the other day coming back from lunch and he could barely walk. It must be from carrying around all his BS for years. Looks like he might have some problem with some inflammatory disease or something.

Did he ever try for elevation? I mean before he was JQC material and suspended for doing that vicious and unethical thing to Judge Seidman. I know he couldn’t try after that. Was he ambitious before he destroyed his reputation?

THANK GOODNESS DIAZ IS ON HIS WAY OUT. HE’S BEEN AN EMBARRASSMENT LONG ENOUGH. THE OTHER JUDGES WILL BE GLAD TO SEE THE LAST OF HIM.

Scherer and Diaz finally out and possibly Moon to lose.

The last of the “it’s about me, not the litigants” mindset Judges.

Let’s beat Moon at the polls people.

    Let’s Gundersen her.

    No more arrogant Judges!!!!!!

More money? More prestige? More responsibility? There’s possibly lots of reasons. Plus, being a Judge is being a lawyer on steroids. If one doesn’t enjoy being a lawyer, judging is a stink job. Being a manager of lawyers, like an in house counsel, avoids all that.

Except, then you’d have Stripclub Johnny Weaks on the bench. An NSU Law grad w 2 alimony payments

Stripclub Johnny just be looking for an easy way to make a buck. It ain’t easy when you’re known as a sleazebag among the actual trial lawyer’s in town.

He’s no different, probably much better than the garbage we’ve got on the bench in Broward ! I’d vote for Johnny any day over the smoochers with their hands out every time you see them.

They aren’t the same thing. FACDL is an advocacy group for lawyers. BACDL is supposed to help the judiciary and annually honor a member that tried lots of cases in the past.
