Florida is a national embarrassment because there isn’t term limits on the position of Chief Judges so things will never be good.

Florida is a national judicial embarrassment for many more reasons than that, and Broward is the worst in Florida, especially because it does not get the good national coverage other states get. And the root causes go undisclosed because the DCAs, especially the 4th, do not get the negative attention they deserve.

We must vote out the entire 4th district!!!!! A joke of an appellate court indeed. They don’t know the meaning of neutrality all they do is affirm whatever the state wants and BACDL and the defense bar ain’t having it any longer

Judge Fahnestock was as hard working as I have ever seen. So if this is a reward, she deserves it. I do not often see court orders stamped after my quitting time. Bon voyage!

Is it true he knocked up the new wife and that is why they married so fast?…nina was probably barren, they were married all that time and no kids

Leave Nina alone. She is a nice person who married a jerk who many believe cheated on her with this woman for years. Nina does not need to be harassed like this. If I had to guess, this is related to Spechler as he was known to call her derogatory names, and Nina always thought he brought on more trouble than he was worth.

I don’t know what’s true or not but the Broward judiciary is a total soap opera and not pleasantly so. The 17th Circuit should be dissolved and placed under the guidance of Chief Judge Marx.

Spechler used to call Nina a yappy Chihuahua…I wouldn’t be surprised if he was rubbing the new marriage in her face with the psycho stalkerish blog post…wouldn’t be the first time if true

    300 more civil cases uncovered
BY PATRICK DANNER AND DAN CHRISTENSEN
    AUGUST 18, 2006 03:27 PM, UPDATED FEBRUARY 27, 2008 04:34 PM

More than 300 civil cases filed between 1989 and 2001 in Broward Circuit Court were kept secret from the public, showing that the hiding of select lawsuits was a deep-rooted practice.

Dozens of the confidential divorces and lawsuits involve the powerful and influential, including politicians, judges, lawyers and law enforcement officers.

Those cases come on top of another 107 civil cases that were kept off the public docket between 2001 and 2006, reported by The Miami Herald in April. At the newspaper’s request, the Broward clerk’s office searched its records and located another 314 cases. All the cases are now on the public docket, under new rules issued this summer by Chief Judge Dale Ross, but their contents remain sealed.

Secret cases are extremely rare – just 421 since the clerk began electronically docketing cases in 1989. Last year alone, there were 44,775 civil and family court cases filed in Broward Circuit Court.

But the fact that many hidden cases involved local leaders disturbed advocates.
“It’s depressing, ” said Paul K. McMasters, First Amendment ombudsman for the Freedom Forum foundation in Arlington, Va. “It’s secret justice for some and public justice for everyone else. The problem is secret justice is not really justice.”

Among the newly discovered hidden cases:

Broward County Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin’s divorce from her first husband, Boca Raton lawyer Jeffrey Wasserman, in the early 1990s, when she was chairwoman of the Broward School Board.
Broward Circuit Judge Ana Gardiner’s divorce from lawyer William Gardiner III, filed six months after Gardiner took office in 1998. It vanished from the public record the next day.
Broward Circuit Judge Jeffrey Levenson’s divorce, removed from the public docket in 1998 when he was an assistant U.S. attorney in Fort Lauderdale. Levenson said he asked to seal the case for security reasons, but didn’t know it also had been removed from the docket.

    “That’s weird, ” Levenson said.

Wasserman-Rubin and Gardiner did not return telephone calls.

THE SECRET LIVES OF BROWARD JUDGES

Judge Nina gets a bad rap. If you people ever had the opportunity to spend any time with her, you would see what a kind and compassionate person she is. Her only fault was loving the wrong guy (who amongst us has not done that?) who brought her nothing but scorn and disrespect in the legal community. I heard Judge Nina was never a fan of her husband’s friendship with Spechler and he was very rude to her. Yes, David helped get Nina on the bench but he and Spechler caused her a lot of embarrassment with the other Judges and members of the legal community. Keep betting against Judge Nina and one of these days you will eat your words. Judge Nina will emerge even stronger from this divorce.

Nina’s mouth is her own worst enemy. Michele (wannabe judge) likes to blame Spechler and David for her pals embarrassment.

Nina got reelected because her husband Dave raised her a bunch of money from his contacts. This resource is gone. She is vulnerable.

Pip is done…repealed in this state. Those pip guys need to figure out their new area of practice, none only them are going to be raising money for any judges. Nina is on her own and not a good time to lose the pip money and hubby money.

Even worse- she kept his last name likely because she knew it would be top of the ballot. Did the new wife take his name too?

Just the response you’d expect from a bunch of consummate brown nosers like Boogenpoop and that idiot Michaelson.

Diaz has always been a real piece of work not worthy of being a judge anywhere. A common opportunist without legal talent and the demeanor of a ignorant punk with a chip on his shoulder. Nothing surprises me about this guy anymore.
