Being a judge is an easy way to rake in a steady income and not have to work very hard. They’re crawling out of the woodwork!

She might actually pull it off this time because nobody will get a chance to see or hear her and she’ll appear first on the ballot.

How does Gordon STILL have $225k in student loan debt?! He’s been outta law school for quite a while now.

I say he is in default and dodging

If he makes $113,000/yr the feds should demand he pay back his loans!

Is that the look you get when you’ve been beaten with a stupid stick ? Lol. Destry must be a glutton for punishment when he can’t afford to lose the filing fee.

I seriously doubt Destry was intending to stay in that race when he filed–before or after he figured out what everyone else already knew about Ledee’s financial muscle. Nobody’s saying he knows what he’s doing but he’s not that stupid to go against Judge Ledee. I think he switches to Judge Bowman.

  6. 15

You’re probably correct. Bowman doesn’t have any money and has baggage to contend with. Destry has had enough time off the public dole to be hungry about now.
Scruples go by the wayside when its the salary, insurance and Judicial Perks you’re after.
Its like a stampede to the finish line for these gov. suckers.
Plan on a switch by Destry. He’ll be crushed if h stays where he is.

Don’t know where she gets it. It’s as EAZY as one, two, three when you roll over on every case. Its not like we play like Perry Mason around here.
I always wanted to practice in my pajamas. Not that I’ve ever taken a case since I was first elected, but we like to keep the illusion going.

a closer look into the orafice, PDs often deliberately blow cases, especially post-conviction because they will not embarrass the incompetent defense attorneys so as no to risk bar complaints–especially if they are some of the usual losers on the wheel are hired to fail, too. Easy for them too, because all they do is create another level of appeal unless the 4th protects their incompetence with phony PCAs.

This case still hasn’t been disposed with an Executive Order from the Supreme Court. Speedy was expired well after notice…. a mistrial occurred and resulted in a double jeopardy prohibition. The mistrial occurred well over a year. What is his lawyer doing?…. something seems fishy… the defendant had valid arguments in his motions. I guess when a defendant becomes”pro se” it becomes easier to expose Broward court abnormalities. The lawyers sure aren’t.

This was Judge Diaz case before he disqualified himself sua sponte, he also declared a mistrial sua sponte without attempting to remove the jeopardy. He runs his courtroom well.

No. This particular defendant has had too many pending cases working in his favor. The jerk has had about 10 felony cases and about 8 misdemeanors cases. I only see one misdemeanour trespass conviction resulting from a lesser included offense in a burglary trial with a co defendant. It looks like he appealed the felony case in Duffy he has a lot of nolle pross on that case.

Not making any excuses for the defendant but have you read majority of the probable cause affidavits written against the defendant. It never has facts just suspicions. Either he is sneaky or he pissed somebody off. I think BOTH.

I have a hunch Hollywood police are involved in this case somehow. They are the few of department where the asa’s will maliciously prosecute

That’s the defendant that keeps writing his own motions. Isn’t Rydell his attorney? I dont see anything on the record that his attorney did… Everything I click on was written and filed by the defendant. His motions aren’t to bad but sometimes he rambles the same arguments. I’m assuming for emphasis. Someone definitely will get ineffective assistance of counsel if this defendant goes to jail. The proof is in the pudding– er– I mean motions. I see a pending Nelson Hearing as well.

The police department’s, the state attorney, the judges and even the defense attorneys dont care about justice. They dont know the difference between a real case and a made up case. They will waste taxpayer dollars going to trial with no evidence tangible or testimonial. They just argue their personal “hunches” somehow the defense attorney still loses the case because the jury is confused and the defense attorneys are too scared to object or preserve anything for appeal.

You forgot one thing: it takes a friggin virus for them to do the right thing releasing human beings from cages on a whole ton of nickelanddime bs cases.

That must be the reason the office has suffered in its quality of representation to clients since Howard Finkelstein became PD. Her attempted spin on an obviously ailing office is just the kind of stuff you’d expect from Weekes whose only skill involves dodging cases and remaining invisible the rest of the time !

You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. In Weeke’s case, the numbers are falling fast …

Targeting the Jewish Community in Broward for votes is nothing new among the agendas of unscrupulous Broward Political wannabes.

Gordon has been leading the PD effort which has resulted in the lowest jail population in decades. Which leads to the question “where’s Tom”?

Right on. Gordon and his team please get the word out how much success Gorodn has had at releasing criminals back on to the streets. Thar will go over great at the condos.

        1. 8

          0

Putting criminals on the street with no follow up supervision who may have COVID is not a good strategy. Gordon clearly cares about the criminals more than the safety of the overall law abiding community.

Just a pitch designed by the Fink and Gordo to appeal to the African American vote. It won’t be enough. Gordo has already lost. The Hollywood machine has been hard at work.

The irony if it all… Gordon the black guy is espousing for sick or exposed black people to be released back into the balck community. Most will be going back to the hood. So Gordo is participating in genocide of his own people. Way to go pal. People wonder why the rates in the black community are so high? Gordon doesn’t have to worry about it, he and his white wife live in a cushy section of Pembroke Pines, not the hood, so his family is safe. Of course the Fink family are safe in their white neighborhood as well.

So now Howard is using his wife to push Gordon’s Narrative when he’s remained uncharacteristically silent on his boy’s candidacy for Public Defender?
Maybe the judges were right after all. The Poison Dwarf doesn’t have nads the size of peanuts unless it comes to a sound bite that went out in the era of real leaders in the Civil Rights Movement.
Black Leaders in Broward have consistently and readily sold out their own people for self advancement and profit. All you’ve got to do is look at this group of hacks to come to that conclusion.
Howard Finkelstein is a bag of self-promotional hot air compressed into a little space that lacks the strength of his convictions.
Gordon Weekes amounts to little of nothing but a flunky pandering to the black vote.

The Public Defenders Office may have been on autopilot for the last couple of years, but the administration stepped up with COVID. Howard took immediate steps to try to protect his employees. Howard, Gordon, and Adam went above and beyond in making sure we could maintain client contact during restrictions put on jail visits. All of the “do nothing” chiefs have been working their ass off since this mess started, without any complaint. I have a newly enhanced respect for the Public Defender and his management team.
