Heck of a mail piece for anyone who runs. No wonder she wanted Zoom. The photos will be devastating.

She hasn’t made a lot of friends with her lawsuit.

I wonder if an opponent will be well funded by all those powerful and rich folk whom she’s crossed?

Bryson can’t be beat. She’s beating Scherer. She’ll win reelection.

How did Judge Scherer get this case? Has she ever tried a Death case before?
Dang. Why did the PDO plea him before trial. There’d have been so much error the punk would have lived til 90.

How does anyone take this woman seriously? She is so far in over her big head. Her father must be ashamed at how she has tarnished his name with her stupidity. It goes to show you how money can buy so many things.

She a bitch and a moron. Period.

McNeil pulling her crying act again ? It’s getting a little old about now, not to mention pathetic.

      1. 22

        2

McNeil was a bad choice as counsel, but I guess there was nobody else left to do it in the PD.

Mikey rode into office on a tainted show trial same as he’s finna ride out.

        2. 19

          3

She was never going to take it to trial. She’s really not cut out for it. She’s been sliding as long as she’s been a PD.

          1. 6

            -3

the PD’s office designs itself around picking and choosing which defendants they zealously and
effectively represent and those they simply fail and refuse to, so if they do not blow it in trial, they will blow it in postconviction, to meet the needs and desires of the SAO–even the “legendary” Chief PD, Dianne Cuddihy. So, it does not necessarily haven anything to do with competence.

Name me a single trial lawyer left in the PD and I’ll buy you lunch. Certainly not Cuddihy. The PD is as laughable as BACDL and about as effective. The real trial lawyers either quit or were drummed out when Finkelstein became pd because he made it known he didn’t want Perry Masons, just paperpushing handholding social workers. That’s why it’s widely known as the Public Pretender’s Office. The real trial lawyers disappeared after Al Schreiber retired who never shrank from taking a case to trial.
Finkelstein did more to undermine and discourage competence than almost anyone whose ever occupied that office. Weekes has continued that practice. I don’t think he ever tried a single case since he first became a lackey in the public defender’s office, or for that matter ever will if its up to him.
Now that he’s been elected the PD he’s perhaps even worse, spending most of his time with his head in the sand interested only in collecting a paycheck. A typical if not even more mediocre bureaucrat. Sure not a dedicated trial lawyer. He could give a chit.
We can all thank Howard for the lack of competence within the office. . He never wanted anyone that would detract attention from his pontificating one-liners and invented image of himself. He had only done a few trials himself before he got busted for drugs in the early days.
To call Cuddihy legendary is a contradiction in terms. Lol

What the hell does anyone have against Melisa McNeil? She’s so nice. And a good lawyer. Get a life.
As for Scherer, omg what did she do???

    1. 36

      3

Why? McNeil practically dryhumped the shooter guy when they were on camera, then recommended he plead guilty!

Think of all the stuff she could’ve uncovered by simply doing some discovery, coulda taken depos of people who witnessed certain things (like the chick who said she was walking out of the bldg w shooter guy even as shots could STILL be heard inside the school), or those who saw other things too.

She acts entitled, but hasn’t earned the stripes by trying enough cases like the rest of us

For somebody who’s been allowed to dodge work for years and crushing caseloads like everybody else, she sure pretends a lot. She’s not very convincing though.
This case should have gone to somebody with a heck of a lot more experience.

    2. 17

Good lawyer? Now that is funny ! All she’s ever done is skate. The way this case is being handled is just more of the same.

Is this the same McNeil that is married to Judge Michael Rothschild? If so then this might be a conflict. One of the victim’s grandparents attend Temple Sinai in Hollywood where the Rothschilds are members. The Temple held a memorial service for the grandchild and McNeil I believe attended. Goes to zealous representation of her client. This was brought to Judge Schere’s attention.

McNeil’s been considerably over her head from the beginning. Suffice it to say that she lacks both the experience and the ability to be representing this kid. It’s been obvious from the get-go that she hasn’t put in the work necessary, but she meant to. There’s plenty of the same type of slackers in the PD, maybe not to the extent of McNeil.
This case should have been farmed out to more capable and dedicated counsel.

  6. 23

She’s a featherweight. It’s never been her intention to do anything other than ride the notoriety of this case. She’s more interested in selling a client down the river. Anything to stay out of a courtroom. She could never have actually tried this case. She’s like a deer in the headlights. Lacks any conviction and has even les talent and she knows it.

  7. 6

You guys…no one could ever walk “shooter guy.” It’s an impossibility and you know it. Not in this county, not in this country. Pleading guilty was strategic—hoping for life instead of death, like maybe the jury will give him a cookie for not dragging victims and their families through a trial. You’d have done the same if you were on the case. Why don’t you talk shit about satz milking his “contract” at the tax payers expense for nearly 2 years on the easiest case in the history of the world??

  8. 29

To say she’s vague is an understatement. She never meant to try the case. She incapable from what I’ve seen. Just trying to hope against hope she can save this guy’s life by weeping and playing the sympathy card.
The touchy-feely thing is a bit strange though. She can’t seem to keep her hands off the kid. More than a little weird if you ask me. Can you just see her with her lack of experience standing up to Satz ? She couldn’t do it. He would rip her to shreds. That’s something that requires character and ability, both of which she seems to lack.
Is this her first murder case? I don’t know. But she seems to be lost and somewhat scared. Certainly they could have found somebody else that could have done a better job. This case requires a litigator, not a handholding kid-petting social worker.

Seriously who the fuck is talking all this shit about Melisa. It’s so weird. She is very capable. I feel like it’s some msd parents on this blog. Because any attorney worth their salt would understand a mother/attorney/human ending up really giving shit about they human being they are representing. No matter how awful the thing he did was. This is our job. Only a non lawyer would be commenting this hateful shit. Again, Get a life.

I’ve been watching the proceedings. I really don’t think she’s cut out for the task. But considering there’s no one else in the PD that’s death qualified, I guess this is her first stab at it. Not very impressed.

Difference is… none of them barely beat Bob Nichols like Rebollo. Makes no sense why he wouldn’t do more to secure his spot after coming so close to losing

Stacy Ross would be easy to beat. She has never run for office. She has raised no money. Her financial disclosure shows very little net worth. Her father, Dale Ross, is a negative. Her manager, Mike Ahearn is a huge negative. A female African American would easily beat her. BEWARE Ahearn, who doesn’t care about his clients, is known for playing both sides. And will make $15,000 to $25,000 on it.

Did anyone else get a fundraising letter from former judge Lynch for his son??

Lynch found out he doesn’t have any juice after he got his azz whipped by Weekes, but he can still punt the ball.

      Smart

Three women and one man. Two of the three are minorities. Secure the male and republican vote and he gets just enough female votes, the Turd could be a judge.

I don’t see it happening. His competition would have a field day with him with all the scandals he’s been involved in over the years undoubtedly having an impact on any votes he thinks he’d get, narrowing any lead in that regard substantially. He’s left a snail trail that’s really easy to exploit.

        1. 0

I don’t know. I think he has a lot of support from key players. He has won a lot of judicial races. I think he can leverage that for a win. I know I wouldn’t want to be in a race against him.

BABS WOULD HAVE TO SEND RESIGNATION LETTER TO DESANTIS PRIOR TO MIDNIGHT ON 4/10 IN ORDER FOR HIM TO APPOINT. GUESS SHE IS JUST FINISHING HER TERM AND WHY SHE NEVER FILED.

I would not believe either Ahearn filing and qualifying and McCarthy giving her seat to the Governor unless and until it is independently verified by Division of Elections.

Reported on Broward Beat that Ahearn is running. Maybe he was just testing the waters.

BECOMING A JUDGE IS BETTER THAN HAVING TO CARRY A CASELOAD
NOT THAT I WOULD KNOW ABOUT EITHER
